stam101: 1. Aliko Dangote — Net Worth: $25 Billion
The richest man in Africa is also the richest black man in the world. Aliko Dangote is also the 23rd richest man in the world, period. Born into wealth in Nigeria, Dangote remembers being interested at a young age when he would “go and buy cartons of sweets and I would start selling them just to make money. I was so interested in business, even at that time.” Clearly, that business acumen followed Dangote into adulthood when he began trading in cement, sugar, flour and other commodities, eventually founding the Dangote Group, one of Africa’s largest publicly listed companies. The Dangote Group now produces its own sugar, salt and cement and owns manufacturing plants for these goods across Africa. Hmm |
Properties › Re: America’s Most Expensive Home, The $139 Million Gold Plated Mansion In Florida by Simitrendy: 12:59pm On Sep 10, 2014 |
Endougs: A French-inspired mansion has just hit the market for a stellar $139 million, making it the most expensive home publicly listed for sale in the U.S. The palatial 60,000-square-foot estate known as Le Palais Royal is spread over four acres and 465 feet of beachfront on Millionaires Mile in Hillsboro Beach, Florida. Le Palais Royal draws inspiration from the Palace of Versailles with gold leafing, stone walkways, balconies and six fountains. Though the palace is currently under construction, here is a sneak peek inside the America’s Most Expensive Home. The entrance of the house features a 26-foot fountain, plated in gold leaf. The lobby bleeds into ‘Le Salon’, a room overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. It also has a 492-foot private dock for a mega-yacht and 465 feet of private beachfront. The vaulted foyer opens to sweeping marble staircase with steel-iron and gold leaf railings, which alone costs $ 2 million and took craftsmen over two years to complete. The grand palace features 11 bedrooms, 17 bathrooms, a bar and a lounge. Four of the bedrooms are master suites with own private Jacuzzis. It also comes equipped with nation’s first in-home IMAX theatre with seating for up to 18 people. The living room comes complete with a high definition 3-D television set, and a 1,300-gallon aquarium. The house has an infinity pool with LED lighting, water slide and swim-up bar set beneath a 12-foot cascading waterfall. A fire pit will be positioned in the middle of the pool. Suspended above it, an infinity-edged Jacuzzi pours down into the pool. It will also include an indoor spa, massage room, gym, putting green and a subterranean garage with parking for 30 vehicles. The grand palace is slated for completion before the end of 2015.

Politics › Re: Since When Did Boko Haram 'attacks' Become Equivalent To A 'take Over' ? by Simitrendy: 4:17pm On Sep 07, 2014 |
publisher: Ever since 2009 Boko Haram has been attacking several Northern/North-Eastern towns at will. Most times they attack such towns, hoist flags, hang around and flee, sometimes they lurk around until Nigerian security forces arrive and chase them out-yet no one ever presented the narrative that Boko Haram had TAKEN OVER such towns.
Unfortunately, today, Boko Haram through its massive media propaganda partners have included the term 'TAKEOVER' into our national counter-terrorism vocabulary. Thus, if a small band of terrorists decide to conduct their usual deadly raids on a small remote town or village in North Eastern Nigeria, Boko Haram's media network quickly gets to work and tells the world that Boko Haram has TAKEN OVER yet another Nigerian territory.
The strategy here is for Boko Haram to continue to disperse small/medium band of fighters to many remote towns and villages, while their media partners simulteanously continue announcing to the world that Boko Haram has 'OVERRUN' more Nigerian territories.
Innundating the Nigerian polity with multiple media reports of takeovers and overruning of Nigerian territories is meant to plunge our security forces into a state of confusion and disarray with a pinch of hopelessness. This can cause a large number of Nigerian soldiers to say to themselves, "Why bother, these Boko Haram guys are everywhere." -The Nigerian army's morale will gradually continue to dampen and at a later date the insurgents will abandon those smaller towns, regroup and attack major towns like Maiduguri,Yola and Damaturu in full force.
This is Boko Haram's strategy and I hope all Nigerians, especially those with ownership or access to media outlets (online and offline) are listening.
A simple counter-propaganda strategy from all patriotic Nigerian media outlets (and the rest of us) is to continue reporting every single Boko Haram attack for what it really is "A COWARDLY ATTACK" and NOT equate such attacks to territorial gains.
Afterall, in spite of Boko Haram's alleged control of several Nigerian territories, we are yet to see the head of their caliphate (Shekau) relocate or move into one of the airconditioned secretariat offices located in territories he claims to control.
Again, let's join hands and fight Boko Haram with everything we've got.

ayex2013: Here are some of the worst price gadgets everyone seems to want or have. You can’t win with these guys so it’s best to just keep your money and buy more reasonable alternatives. Checkout our list of 5 Gadgets That Are All Hype And Overpriced; 1. Beats by Dre
The entire line is complete crap, especially for their ridiculous prices. Did you know that Beats Pro/detox that you saved over 500 dollars to get cost only 3 dollars to make and is still a crap quality headphone? Just giving you the facts people. Yo are buying a lifestyle when you should be buying quality. 2. Samsung Phones
I do not have to reiterate how annoying these are. I mean, they are Android smart phones made entirely of plastic with a weak ass Gorilla glass thing attached to the front. Drop ones and it breaks. And you are expected to shell out over a hundred thousand naira to buy these phones most of the time if you want a flagship something. Can’t be life. 3. Apple Mac Books
Do me a favor, when you are done with this post, kindly take a stroll over to Jumia and check out Mac Book prices… The go all the way up to about a million naira. For a laptop, that needs to charge with electricity and you still have to pay for internet. No Bueno Amigo!!!! The price just doesn’t add up to what we are buying. Sorry! 4. Samsung TVs
The other day mans is strolling through the mall and I see this curved LED TV by Samsung for 30 million naira… No mistakes guys, I call the attendant and asked if there was some kind of error and she did well to hold back her laughter in mockery of my obvious confusion… Then you start to look around and you begin to notice the prices on these things. Samsung needs to be stopped! 5. Smart Watches
The new rave of the moment, everyone wants a Moto 360 or a pebble that will set you back 700-800 dollars, Money that can buy land. And all the watch will do is notify you when your phone is ringing and tell you time and weather. Alright guys, I understand the foolishness. Well done! OBO!

Christianity Etc › Re: Your Top 5 Indigenous Gospel Musicians And Your Favorite Tracks by Simitrendy: 7:10pm On Aug 24, 2014 |
Donfamous: Hello peeps I just wish to emulate some of our gospel artistes, I must confess they are really trying. Well to digress further here are my top four musicians count down.
5. sinach . A great vocalist, whose song has inspired many, "I am who God says I am, is like the song is purposely meant for me, what about 'awesome God, more of you' in conclusion this woman is bomb.
4. Tope alabi well very controversial these recent times but I must. tell you she has this talent that is indisputable, her album are always tight, she has produced more music than any gospel artiste in Nigeria, though she sings in yoruba dialect but she's good in what she's doing. I got to a stage that I dint and couldn't even pick my best tracks from her music, but I can't forget the likes of 'ji irawo, opin irinajo, Jesu olurapada, certificati, funmilayo' etc this woman is too much
3. Lara George this woman is good, she gat the voice, talent and the style that keeps her going, I can't forget tracks like "komasi, dansaki, kolebaje, etc" but it seems are songs are not as interesting. And powerful as before, (my opinion) and don't forget this hit song "ijoba orun," its a great song.
2.Franklin Edwards great producer and song write, can't also forget hits like "you tOo they bless me o, ome ma e, alcatraz blues and the great great great imamma" , the song is very powerful as u also know.
1. Kenny k'ore guess this guy deserve a special seat, men this guy is "too good" he raps, sings and even chants, his first album was like a bomb, don't like disunity o but I think he's now better off than when he wes in infinity group, the way he stops and plays back is a gift on is own, guess I'm his biggest fan lol. But my best tracks in his first album is "eledumare, somore, hallelujah ft in kis image, bebelube, believe, psalm 23, ordinary man, etc." but in his latest album, I listened to the album more than two times in a day I mean the whole tracks, none of it is ever dulling, well lemme list some too ' kuluso( very very captivating listen to it first and thank me later if u av not) motiri, blind man guitar, are u ready, nibo, dream of the end, be like Jesus etc. Must say this guy is the bomb. Thanks let's see urs. Waoh! Nice 1 |
