SportsRe: Are Nigerian Footballers Of 1994-1998 Set Nigeria's Global Ambassadors? by simpleswazy(m): 12:53pm On Jul 20, 2019
Jarus:
Footballers, especially 1994-98 set, appear to be Nigeria's biggest ambassadors to the world. Well, maybe apart from 419.

From personal and friends' experience, when you introduce yourself as a Nigerian to most foreigners, the first thing they ask you about are Okocha, Kanu etc.

My Irish-Algerian seat mate couldn't stop talking about Rashidi Yekini and Amokachi on learning I'm a Nigerian, on the 3 hour Istanbul-Madinah flight in 2016.

An Egyptian friend in Saudi Arabia couldn't stop talking about Okocha's football wizardry. I have also met several Egy;tian friends in Dubai and once they know me as a Nigerian, they start asking about Okocha, Rashidi etc, Many other past experiences.

A generation of footballers Nigerian hardly even remember again.

When I posted the above on my Facebook wall, some of my friends shared similar experiences as reproduced below:

Have you experienced similar thing? Share your experience of foreigners taking highly of Nigerian footballers of 1994-1998 set.
same here when i went to Egypt every egpytian I meet called me either kanu or okocha I was surprised they even ask for our naira..
RomanceRe: How Did You Woo Your Girlfriend? by simpleswazy(m): 10:27pm On Jul 15, 2019
Been with mine for 4yrs ... I was in 200 level she just got admitted. I saw her at the fellowship for the first time and I liked her, her calmness, innocence and she was pretty. What I did was know who invited her to the fellowship after knowing I just traced her to the hostel. I went there like two days without getting to speak with her. She was always alone with her phone. So one faithful day went there with a friend of mine upon getting there my friend saw her and was like he like this girl I didn't tell him I was going there to woo any girl.. So I asked him do you want to speak with her he said yes. We sent someone to call her that someone from her fellowship want to see her. She came and my friend introduce me she sat and they talked. Behold a lady from our department walked past us and my friend followed her and left me with her...we talked and we became friends. Express my feelings after some weeks and she said she will give me a reply I didn't rush it.. I made her feel comfortable around me. She couldn't go a day without seeing me. That was when she said she loves me too... Still with her till date she's in her final year...

I was at the immigration office at ikoyi and it was an eye sore the collection center of the international passport .I dont understand why we call our passport electronic? when you have to go through hell to get your passport even after paying double for it..The officer comes out and announced that the process of getting the passport sorted is rigorous because they have to start looking for your names from A to Z. it was then I know many things is wrong is with this country . how on earth do you expect such process to be fast and not time wasting .the annoying part is that later they would bring out some old set of passport and keep calling names, you will be amused that 99% of people who submitted their slip for collections names won't be called ..Naija is bleeped .
God why this country we are just so behind .

CareerRe: My Company Deduct Pension Money From Our Salaries Without Paying To Our PFAs by simpleswazy(m): 12:35pm On May 11, 2019
Niorte:
Please what can be done? The company i work for keep deducting pension money from the salaries of its staff every month without paying to the Pension Fund Administrators.

What is the consequence of this? Who is supposed to act, me or the PFA?

Is there any known labour law which allows this.

This has been going on for more than a year now.

Please help me move this to front page.
We may not be able to challenge the management but it is believed that social media can help turn around the situation.
The question I will ask is how many month or years have you been working with the company? because my own company remove it monthly but you don't get notification until 3 month after so it depends .I will suggest you speak with the HR of your company first before concluding .

Greatzeus:
Closing by 9:00pm wow, except you work in big eateries like Mr Bigg, Chicken republic and co ,which is understandable because of the nature of the job, this is totally unfair and inhuman. If a company couldn't help closing late, they should have shift.
Don't blame your Co workers or call them cowards or hypocrites, they know what they are doing, they need the job,it doesn't make any sense protesting, just resign and go look for another job if it's that easy.
To add, your writing is very poor, poor composition, indiscriminate use of punctuations. So hard to read and make sense of.
i am not writing to win a noble prize bro. I was damm tired when was writing that late that night I got back from work so don't judge me. I know what you mean and I am not a dullard, tnx anyways...
Nairaland GeneralMentality Nigerians Needs To Change by simpleswazy(op): 10:02pm On Apr 26, 2019
There is something common with Nigerians.. that is the mentality of knowing our right but not able to fight for it.. we rather mumur at the corner of our house or at workplace without fighting the cause.. what prompt me to write this is a scenario at workplace... normally we close by 9pm but when sales is not impressive the manager can add extra mins whereby you can leave work around 9:30 before u get home u are already useless... we all ranted about it the night but to my greatest surprise meeting day nobody was willing to air their view about the danger of going home late... I stood up spoke for myself and highlight why I can't spend more mins after 9 ..eversince then I leave work 9 ..while others would still be there.. they want it but can't speak up cos Nigerians we are used to people fyting for our right for us.. I realised everybody is a modafucking hypocrite.... they push you to go and say their needs and they leave u alone... I wonder when the youth will arise and say enough is enough in this country.. till then let us keep enduring like we always do.. suffering and smiling...

Nairaland GeneralAbacha Loot For Sharing.. How True by simpleswazy(op): 4:16pm On Oct 20, 2018
The President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration is hoping to pay the next batch of Abacha loot directly into the accounts of poor Nigerians. The Federal Government is making final preparation to disburse $322 million fund repatriated from the accounts of former Head of State, late General Sani Abacha in Switzerland to Nigerians. The National Coordinator of the Open Government Partnership (OGP), Nigeria and Special Assistant to the President on Justice Reforms, Juliet Ibekaku-Nwagwu disclosed this recently in an interactive session with newsmen. Ibekeaku-Nwagwu said under MoU with Switzerland the funds would be paid directly into the accounts of the poorest Nigerians through their various accounts for two years and identification numbers to be made available on the website being developed by the National Social Investment office and the World Bank. She solicited the patience of Nigerians, explaining that the agencies working on the modalities would brief the public on June 28, adding that the process for the payment will be transparent for civil society and the media to monitor. She said despite oppositions against the MoU from within and outside government, the Attorney General of the Federation (AGF), Abubakar Malami (SAN) and his team have pursued President Muhammadu Buhari’s agenda of ensuring that the $322m was returned for deployment in the social safety nets project, which would make targeted transfers to the poor and vulnerable households. “The poorest members of the community will be registered online, and before you make any payment, they must have an ID number so that every payment would be tracked. No amount will be paid out without a joint signature between Nigeria and the World Bank and without identification of individuals,” she said. Ibekeaku-Nwagwu said President Buhari’s commitment to the Open Government Partnership during the London Summit in 2016 has enhanced transparency and accountability in government budgeting and contracting, adding that “If there is anything we have achieved its about getting Nigerian citizens to become conscious about what is happening with their money.”

LiteratureRe: Story Of How I Became An Airlord by simpleswazy(m): 9:58am On Sep 28, 2018
Peaceyw:
Once upon a time, I was embarking on a journey, as I was going I saw some men along the road, they said they are the once moving and they said they are into the movement of black people, I said to them ok, lets move together Because we are heading towards the same direction.. We got to a mountain, with their help, I crossed through it.. At the other end of the mountain there lies a sea, they were all confused and saying how can we swim or pass this sea and we do not sail through it?. They said to themselves, I was just looking at them Because my thinking was different, knowing I can't join the movement, they even said black man will be set free wit an axe, how can a man be set free when you can't even help your follow black man cross through a sea?. I wondered.. Not quite long a group of sailors came and i gat no option than to sail with them in the sea, some said they were SEADOGS shouting (ahoy seadogs), I saw some of them, they said they were the SEALORDS also shouting (alora sealords). After some metres away the ship capsized and another group of sailors rescued me, they told me they the VIKINGS or NORSEMEN, they are the vahalla soldiers, also heard them echoed (arrow mate arrow) we sailed across the sea then we got to an island saying I should stay with them in the island so that I can be a NORSEMAN. As I was walking with two vikings in the island, we saw mountains, can u climb mountain? I asked, No! They replied we 're sailors not Mountain climbers, they replied.. I asked the two vikings again is there anybody or group of people that can cross mountains, valleys or sea, they replied yes! They are the AIRLORDS... Is there anything like airlord? I wondered, that's left for me to answer.. They go on saying they are powerful, they'd conquer the movement (blackaxe), even the seadogs and sealords, I even heard they are coming for us, said one of the vikings, who told you that, one of the vikings responded, I heard executional and captain saying it.. How can I see an AirLord, I imagined. I climbed mountains, walk through valleys, cross several oceans and seas, I'd see anything called AIRLORD.. I was tired after climbing from a mountain, I decided to sit under a tree, I never knew that tree was holy (akalamagbo tree) soon I slept off nd heard a voice saying my son, I'm jakujaku the God of airlord, I saw your determination and quest to be an AirLord, I woke up immediate and saw one man walking towards my direction, he said follow me and i did, he took me to the riverside and said go to the world and multiply... Proudly an AirLord If u really love to be an AirLord, echo rugged *
