Your article is useless with no proven scientific backing.
For your points to stick, u need to show that there are no extinct water snake species. You also need to show us that there are no extinct species in Africa, tropical rain forest, the Amazon etc. I will take your points serious when this is done. So get to work and stop speculating.

Any way, the post says that snakes Survive in Areas with hot climate. They are also abundant in various habitats found in Naija and other places. plus, although, they don't depend on food 4 heat energy, they, like all living things, need it for survival. And Naija as well as other places meet these conditions. Note that the post said ''In Nigeria and Other Lands'' and not ''In Nigeria Only'' !

With over two thousand five hundred species belonging to more than ten families, snakes are a large and successful group. They owe much of this success to their versatility -- snakes occupy habitat ranging from underground burrows to the top of the tree, to ocean depths as great as one hundred and fifty metres.
