There has been an increase in 'One Chance Robberies' in Lagos State. People disguise themselves as passengers in commercial buses and pick up unsuspecting passengers, then steal valuables, seize ATM cards and demand for the pin. Rather than let you go immediately, some of their gang members will hold you down until they withdraw all the cash they can from your bank account, and then later drop you off.

A twitter user shared these photos of a guy who is allegedly a member of a one chance robbery gang that robbed his wife around Ikeja. According to him, she boarded a bus going to Ojota at Agindingbi but was robbed and dropped off around Iju. He shared some screenshots taken from an ATM footage of the thief withdrawing from her account at a bank and another twitter user familiar with his face confirmed it, saying the man's gang once picked him up around Yaba last year and also robbed him. I keep wondering why banks can't put a defense mechanism in place on the use of debit cards...such as:

Allow people have a second pin in threatened situations such that when entered in the ATM it holds back the card or maybe it shuts down the account to avoid illegal transaction

Jiji na crazy place to waka and surf for items to purchase. Na so the badt guy wan scam my sister ontop serious money. I do wonder why they don't put checks to curb the wahala, cz it would affect them in a negative light.
If they ain't ready to operate, they should pack up asap.

A friend of mine that got the sms decided to play along and see how far they could go with their madness.

So his ex corper friend told him he has been trying to reach him all this while, and then gave him the number of a manger in shell stating that the recruitment was based on community slot.

Upon calling the man, who identified himself and stated that he has been expecting his call since the previous week, and that he needs to get the form and submit asap cz of the deadline. He told him to pay a certain sum into an account and come see him immediately at shell office in Port Harcourt

Weird scenario was that we were both in Port Harcourt then.
I dunno how he knew his location, but here I was thinking technology played a role or that it was just a lucky guess. They seem to be a little detailed in their scamming sha.

So, he ended up calling his Aunt who works in shell to find out about the man, only to learn that he had retired recently...plus, the man is way too up to bring himself down to do such kinda things.

Omo....this thing na serious business for these guyz o

They say old habits die hard...and in her case it has become an addiction.
It's possible she truly loves him and wants to quit, but it ain't easy quitting something that you have a great drive for.

I do admire her honesty, but if he wants a change in attitude he should let her know that he can't take more of her old ways, and reassure her of being with her to help her come out of it.

In this current economy I get that feeling of wanting to know how many peeps are needed...and if less than expected, hoping they could take more of us. It ain't easy with the struggle, but with God all things are possible.

For me, I'd rather feel a wedding in your church at home where you worship should be Ideal.
It sounds more homely...and besides, you can look back in time and say to your kids; "this is the Priest/Pastor that wedded us".
and as an extra bonus, he could become your marriage counsellor...not some person who's miles away or sees you as a stranger.
