RomanceRe: Is Attraction A Choices: Conclusion by Situation(op): 3:54pm On Oct 04, 2013
You have to get out there and
practice and meet people and probably
make some pretty bad mistakes
.
The old saying “learn from my mistakes” only goes
so far.
Most of us learn best by making a few
mistakes of our own. Hopefully you can apply
that knowledge to those who hurt you and
forgive them when they mess up
RomanceRe: Is Attraction A Choices: Conclusion by Situation(op): 3:45pm On Oct 04, 2013
Similarly it should save us some effort and time. If
someone isn’t attracted to you, trying to
convince them that they are or should be
isn’t really worthwhile
. You may in some cases
be able to increase their attraction or develop it
(friends that become lovers later in life).
However, you can’t ever just give someone a
logical list of why they should be attracted
to you
. Either they are or they aren’t. Or maybe
they are quite sure yet…yeah it never is that
simple.
RomanceIs Attraction A Choices: Conclusion by Situation(op): 2:39pm On Oct 04, 2013
Why is this even important? Why do we care if
attraction is a choice or not?
If ultimately attraction is not a choice than
I think it should alleviate some of the
anxiety about rejection and rejecting that
we get
. No one likes rejection and hopefully most
of us don’t like rejecting someone else. If we can
remember that we can’t help who we are
attracted to (and who we are not) perhaps we will
be more understanding of people who just don’t
find us attractive.
It’s a fact of life: you just aren’t going to be
attracted to every guy that asks you out.
And if attraction is not a choice you shouldn’t feel
so bad about turning him down. After all if
marriage to one person for the rest of your life is
anywhere in your future dreams, you essentially
have to turn down 3.5 billion of the opposite sex
in exchange for that one person.

El Guapo: [color=#0066ff]It would have been best to stick to her present job and inure to the rants of her boss, that'd give you more time to get your degree dusted and you two planning for the future.

Quitting a job isn't always the solution but changing our attitude and perception towards the said situation is, i believe u've talked this up with her.

Explain to her the situation and why its necessary to hang on to that job, let her device ways to get along with the boss and deal with all the stress.

You can get this whole thingy outta the mud Mr Situation.

Ohh how i wish it were that simply to get see things through so clearly..if there had been a voice upload i would have love for you to listen to the conversation we had after she call me up in the mid-nyt yesterday..swearing and yelling to give her superiors her piece of mind simply because an exam is scheduled for all the employees by november ending, she even threatened not to take the exam,so her superior and exam can go to hell for all she cares..the shocking part is i have never heard her “swear“ before coz she‘s so religious..its so disturbing

My apologies for any confusion: yes she's a south african lady who resides and work in johannesburg south africa and i'm a nigerian and i live and work here in nigeria...and she wants to relocate to nigeria permanently by applying for a spouse-relation residence because she wants to be with me and be in a fresh environment...which of coz is good for her and the relationship bcoz it had been a long distant relationship all along BUT if she quits her job and me currently running a degree course which is sucking every single dime out of my income is gonna be a serious dent in our livelihood..i dont know if you get my drift @ all
Nairaland GeneralWhat Was Your "MOST" Honest Reason To Lie by Situation(op): 12:34am On Oct 03, 2013
Sure we find ourselves in different situations and had different reasons we better lie...either to save face, not to hurt someone, get out of a mess, or even to delibrately get someone you distaste into trouble. Well its better to start with the instigator of the matter *smiles*: mine was to make my present fiancee to fall in love with me 3yrs ago; when she asked me how i knew her favourite meal, song, color and even drink(soda water 'she cant spare you a drop') i simply told her it was pure coincidence..truth been i paid her bff for the info...feel free to share yours please, just make sure the person you lied to is not available to nab you lol
RomanceUrgent And Life Saving Advice Seeked By A Nairalander by Situation(op):
The first thought that comes to your mind i guess would be "how has this got to do with me" but you can do me great good by giving a geniune advise...i have been engaged to my fiancee(a south african) for 3 close to 4yrs now who lives and works in south africa and not for once has she said "i had fun at work today",she always laments about her nagging boss about meeting targets and clients compliant etc. Her last visit to nigeria(coz i live and work here) 2months ago i fully realise she's struggling alot with the job...the adequate thought would be for her to change occupation but there is no job opportunity that pays equally or better than her current job(bank consultant) right now in south africa and here in nigeria the economy and job opportunity is nothing to brag about...i'm having sleepless nights coz she threatened to quit her job which right now is important she keeps it and insist she wants to gets a nigeria citizenship to distant herself from all the craziness and be closer to me, which of course is good but the timing is awful...i really need matured and feasible advice please thanks
