Comments like this, is uncalled for, grow up and stop making such comments, there are more mature ways to vent your displeasure against the current govt. Don't you have any manners? thought most Nigerians have better home training than this. Wise up man and quit the emotional break down kabe1: Your vegetable of a Buhari is a hopeless bastard who has no business whatsoever being in power. He has spent most of the time he was elected into power in various trips or a London hospital.
That idiot has not been in Nigeria for 3 months straight since he was elected.
Lol, the government has provided equipment just like those before him, nothing special.
Tell that illiterate vegetable to resign already! |

Apologies, i mistook you for an adult. Good for you though. Nice to know. Have a nice day. ActivateKruger: Actually we have the capability to sink all the ships you have. 4 frigates with 32 Exocet missiles, remember? Do your math.... And we still have the supply ship the SAS Drakensburg, the torpedoes from the subs?
In fact we can sink every "war ship" in West Africa without going back to base. |

Enough guys. Jeez. Neither country can go to war with one another and win, it's as simple as that, and if that was to happen, South Africa will never win a war if that war is to take place in Nigeria, and Nigeria will never win a war against South Africa if it was to take place in SA. Neither country can sustain such war for long. Even Germany ran out of missiles in Syria. And if there is going to be conflict, do you guys actually think Nigeria will fight SA with her current hardware? I don't think so, wars don't start overnight, it takes time to build up, i can assure you that Nigeria's military assets will be upgraded and if there isn't enough time to train our own people, then those equipment will be manned by foreign soldiers, and SA will also upgrade hers. So all these silly comments is a waste of time, we are wasting time on something that will never happen. And i mean Never. Neither country possesses the capability ActivateKruger: How long does a Heroine submarine stay submerged? We submerge in Angola you wouldn't know what hit you in Lagos. |

Dude, stop your rant. Soldiers fled from battlefield or not, is that the case now? Ever heard of Asymmetric warfare? Those terrorists elements gave serious problems because they aren't fighting in a conventional way, how about you go to Afghanistan and ask the Western troops there how come they haven't been able to defeat the Taliban in over 10yrs and now propose to negotiate? Or why Columbia have to deal with guerillas for almost 50yrs or so? If these elements come out of hiding and fight, they would have been defeated in a matter of days. Insurgency isn't easy to put down. But we get it now, Are you rooting for Kenya? Okay, they are the best in Africa. Move on. kikuyu1: I've just realised despite some screeching and finger pointing about African armies alleged underspending nobody has ever done a cost comparison in all the years of this thread;even on ToT.
Defence budget 2017 Personnel tri services %AGE OF gdp spend per soldier Here's the SANDF 4 bn$ 80,000 0.9% 50,000$ per year
KDF 1.2 BN$ 30,000 1.4% 40,000$ per year
Naij 2 bn$ 160,000 0.4% 12,500$ per year
Uganda 900 mn 50,000 1.2% 18,000$ per
There may be some variation with changing exchange rates but the truth comes out with figures! Pay,welfare, housing, training, maintenance, operations and acquisitions is included in the per capita spend per soldier. I wonder where Naijj's money for the new buys is coming-most likely extra budgetary funds from a contingency account. Those who can draw logical inferences are ofc free to do so. Which country's troops 2 years back were in such serious operational problems with proxy terrorists they fled the field of battle several times? The per capita spend isn't all;is each armed force developing doctrines, what the US calls TTPs,Tactics ,Techniques and Protocols to optimise their ToE in their respective threat matrix? Very very few on this thread can answer that especially when none of us are fighting near peer enemies. Like I said earlier M23,BH and Al Shabaab aren't significant threats but one of those proxies gave serious problems to its foe-why??
I had a post earlier saying the RSA for its continental role really should have heavy lift like the propfan not turboprop, An 70,at least 3 pieces. It can carry 35 tons, 5000 km-wow! Also at least a 12 plane squadron of heavy twin FSBs like Su 30 ,though Saffers don't respect Vlads stuff so it'd have to be the 100 mn$ a pop Rafales. Here's the thing:its well within their financial capabilities. They need boost their defence budget to 1.6% of GDP,well within their means with some simple scrimping and judicious scraping. Some of you've heard the single seat KA 50 was tried out here-thats true! 2 squadrons will arrive once the main N Kenya oil pipeline is operational, late 2019. Bookmark this post! Point of all this being? Acquisitions and availability of warfighting equipment depends on not just your ready finance but financial capability. |

Dude, you should let it go, i don't know you, and i wasn't talking to you. The other dude claimed his numbers/figures were a fact, that's was simply what i had issues with, weren't some of you on Henry's back about similar claim? ssaengine: It's ISIS, not History of Khoi San Music and Arts. Information is easily available. Boko Haram is nowhere near as capable as ISIS is (or rather was at its peak). The two don't fall into the same class at all. dude, musical history would be more accurate than some made up figures about ISIS, where are you getting this figures from? The US? lol, that's laughable. But if you think those figures are accurate, then i have a bridge to sell ya. I do agree though, ISIS is more sophisticated than BH, that's my own opinion. But unless these guys opened their books to us , any number is nothing but made up, AKA, an estimate. Estimate isn't fact. Enjoy your Sunday fellas . |

patches689: Delusion, the absolute height of delusion.
Lets talk facts.
Size of ISIL: 200,00 at peak. 31,000 Now Boko: 10,000 at peak.
Lets now talk about equipment: - ISIS has more T72's than the Nigerian military (for the duration of your operations against BH) - ISIS has about the same number of feild guns as the Nigerian military - ISIS has operational ATGM's, unlike the Nigerian military - ISIS has more armed drones than the Nigerian military
Number of VBIED's by ISIS per year: 1,141 Number of VBIED's by BH: <10
This shows us that you either have no idea what you are talking about, or, you know exactly what you are talking about and are intentionally making misleading statements.
Tell me, does saying the things you say make you feel better?
I feel sorry for you, I truly do. And you get all these facts of yours from which source exactly? ISIS daily? If you want to make a claim, how about you put a source of your information? Or we should just take your word for it? And no, not insulting you, but a source would be a good start before calling something a fact |

Nigeria: 'Navy Kills Two' in Police Station Arson Attack http://www.newsweek.com/nigeria-twodead-navy-police-618092In this day and age, this even requires no training, it's simple common sense, this is what happens when there is really no separation between these agencies, in the US for example, soldiers, navy etc, have zero authority on the street, but in Nigeria, soldiers are busy assaulting cops, this isn't the first time this has happened, it's sad. But i do hope there will be some official info on this though |

Tinfoil: This is very sad. This is not what a country facing famine,, has a large population living in poverty, cannot feed itself, has massive unemployment, .... should be prioritizing to spend money on.
Kenya, all African countries, and most countries in the world are unable to wage total war and can only resist an attack from its peers for a few days.
The money being proposed here will most likely be stolen.
It would make sense if they were proposing to modernize, the police, pay them better so that can stop being corrupt, improve their living standards, build police stations, .... The biggest security threat for Kenya is internal You sir, are very naive. So because they have other issues, they should ignore securing their country and interest? haha, oh boy. Okay |

CAMNEWTON4PRES: Some of you should start feeding your IDPs living in Borno and relocation those living in Kamer before talking of a regime change in a better organized, more powerful country like Cameroon . See me citizens of an unstable country (from Boko to pipeline bombers to Fula herdsmen ) talking about the supposedly threatening instability of Cameroon ... lmfao if there should be an instability in Cameroon post Biya (which is very unlikely to happen ) Nigeria will just suck it up like we sucked it up during Biafra absorbing millions of Nigerians ,the same way we do with car citizens and Chadians and the same way we are doing with Nigerians . Anyone dreaming about funding groups to remove Biya or any other president simply does not love himself and his brethren... you might twist it the way you want but bakassi is very fresh reminder of what will happen again should Nigeria try to grab anything from us talk less about funding terrorism on our soil ,not only we will outflank your obsolete army but we will dine in Lagos and Abuja in less than 2weeks while sending. Buhari to Yaoundé in a cage with chains around his neck and ankles This is what happens when people drink tainted herbs lol. Stop your hallucinations and take your med, untainted preferably . |

IbnSultaan: ONSA In most cases after the de radicalism n co The get scholarship to study outside Nigeria And i think that's part of the inferior mentality some people in leadership position over there still have, not you of course. Would a Western Government send any of their citizens overseas in such a case? Why send them abroad? Not like Nigeria is a small place, relocate them to another part of the country, along with their family, give them new identities and full scholarship, monthly allowance, etc. It's a disgrace sending our citizens overseas after they've been through a bad experience at home, and this happen often too,and sometimes you even see westerners with these girls right afterwards, why allow that? Because I'm sure if this scenario was reversed, this won't happen. Jeez Not railing against anyone, my point is, we need to learn to take care of our own people. Not shipping them overseas |
