Lots of you guys on here truly have issues.
What's the mentality of "We are the best" or most effective etc. All the power some people think they have now, pales in comparison to what other countries outside of the continent has, so what are some of you guys bragging about? Pity
Can't we all just be humble and enjoy the thread? Or i need to call the UN to use the French forces to deliver more tampons for you fellas?
Jeez

Thx Chief.
It's weird how someone that's been a cop for over 25yrs is still being used to guard a bank, that's why education is important, i think that played a role. Life goes on.

Sometimes i get the feeling that these stories about a million people being rescued is just an evacuation of civilians with nowhere to go and in harms way.
I mean, how do you rescue that many people without news of a single terrorist dead? Are captives left unguarded? okay

And if you have any shred of decency or common sense, you'd realize that i never made comparison to herdsmen killings.
You said " People are killed almost everyday in Nigeria yet we have a military and police"

That was what i responded to. Show me a freaking country where people aren't killed everyday, your comment that i quoted was never about herdsmen.
Like i said, take a chill pill, and if you hate your country this much, how about you renounce your citizenship and move? North Korea could use ya.
Now I'm done. Stop spewing your rubbish here every chance you get, it's tiring. Better yet if you want to effect change, become a journalist, make that sacrifice, expose the corruption and inefficiency in the country, instead of barking like a mad dog

And how is borno contributing to this war on terrorism? Or is it the federal government that is fully funding it with money mostly gotten from the south huh
No such thing as money gotten from the South.
And states aren't in charge of funding warfare, that's the job of the federal Govt, states can help with facilities and other logistics, access to state detention centers, vehicles etc, but Money that comes from the Fed belongs to all Nigerians, not South, not anywhere else.
People in the North also pay taxes, easterners do too, and yes there is also oil money, but that's not the only arena the Fed Govt gets money from.
Now before anyone bite off my head, let's keep it civil, correct me if I'm wrong grin

You are weird Sir.
Do i read history, whose history? Mine or theirs? Please.
We are talking about steel, only a mad person would actually think the West is preventing Nigeria from establishing steel industries.
Lack of management is the problem, or have you forgotten that factory was up and running before? I guess the West shut it down huh.
Yes Sir, i will read more about German history, you know, once I'm perhaps 90. I have better things to do with my life.
So you are telling me there is only one steel plant in Nigeria? If true, then we all should be ashamed of ourselves.
Now i think someone already made clear we have others, well there you go, how come Nato didn't stop that from being operational?
Mismanagement is your enemy, not Nato.

scully95:
Well, that is not how it works. First is usually military power before you can get a guaranteed growth. You may think this is funny because you dont know how the Germans steel industry gave them power to build tanks and all sorts of weapons which made them even more technologically advance but they never knew they were also dealing with Russia which is also as at the time almost the same.

Did you read history at all ? How do you build bombs ? Carrier vehicle is made of plastic or paper right ? What do you use in carrier viehicle ? Bullet is what ? Plastic abi ? 50 caliber bullet is made of plastic, paper or ata gungun abi ?

Yes, from my deep findings again, NATO will not allow Nigeria to operate Ajaokuta. They will continue to sabottage it. This is why ObJ played politics with Nigeria's future. My findings show that there is no political will to put it back to life.

My opinion here "I bet the empire must have threatened OBJ as at the time and OBJ to save Nigeria from the stress played Politics with Nigeria's future. Sabotage the deal by selling it out to unknown company with no pedigree in that area and that will never complete it. From my findings GEJ managed to take back the deal from the saboteurs".

“They understand that the platoon leader is in charge of the overall plan, understand the platoon sergeant is there to take care of – as we say – the ‘beans and the bullets.’ Sustainment-type operations.”

US soldier's opinion of Nigerian infantry troops when his team went their to train our troops. Funny he find this surprising, Nigeria in my opinion should stop certain type of training with foreign troops, it just embarrasses our country in my opinion, unless it's specialized training, we should pass and do our training at home.
The idea of a 22yr old US soldier going to nigeria to teach a war verteran how to point and shoot is madness.
Just saying

"Only time i believe France would, is if Nigeria was the aggressor, but if it was the other side, France won't blindly side with them, doesn't work that way"

Again, learn to comprehend what you read, if Nigeria wasn't the aggressor, France won't jump on some bandwagon and start bombing Nigeria, only if we were.
Got it?
Have a nice day, done with this

jpphilips:
Your suggestion in your penultimate post makes Nigeria the aggressor, doesn't matter if you understand that, Russia will help Nigeria because of Diplomacy? really? and you know this how? any precedence?
Foreign AffairsRe: Battle Field Discussion (picture/video) Of African Military . by Sizzorkay: 3:10pm On Feb 23, 2018
Properly read what i wrote, which land did Nigeria annexed? Which rebel leader from Cameroon did Nigeria helped?
I said as long as Nigeria isn't the aggressor , that is, didn't start the fight, France won't jump in and start bombing Nigeria.
They aren't morons. Just because you have a defense pact with another country doesn't mean you pick a fight at will and expect that country to come to your aid when you've bitten more than you could chew.
And yes Russia will back Nigeria in the UNSC if Nigeria wasn't the aggressor, it's called diplomacy, and they most likely will, hell they will even sell us weapons if we are to ever get into a fight with Cameroon, sure that's business, and that's also why they are most likely to have our back at the UNSC. Russia doesn't tow some dotted line, you should know that.

jpphilips:
By annexing Southern Cameroon or helping the rebel leadership, Nigeria has become the aggressor, refer again to Russia vs Crimea, despite the Crimea parliament vote (wish of the people), the case was decided on Article 2.4 where Russia was found guilty, in return, sanctions rained on Russia, there is already a precedence here so you can slide in the best guess for the end of the road.
It is pretty safe to assume France will help Cameroon at the UNSC because they already have a defense pact and Cameroon hasn't jeopardized that yet, Russia will help Nigeria based on what exactly?
Foreign AffairsRe: Battle Field Discussion (picture/video) Of African Military . by Sizzorkay: 4:10am On Feb 23, 2018
You guys self.
France isn't some idiotic country that won't asses a situation before starting a war with Nigeria, if anything France will help settle things, not Attack Nigeria.
Only time i believe France would, is if Nigeria was the aggressor, but if it was the other side, France won't blindly side with them, doesn't work that way. You ever thought about France own interest in Nigeria? Economically that is, it dwarfs that of Cameroon.
So if we get into a fight with Cameroon, which they started, No way France will just start bombing Nigeria, i doubt they will do that, they will just use diplomacy. My opinion of course. Defense treaty or not.
And don't forget whatever the UNSC is gonna do, Russia i believe, will have Nigeria's back in there.

They really need to give the police more resources, I mean, seriously? And no only that, the idea of transferring cops out of their states into others should stop, cops should serve in their own communities.
Initiate community policing. ugh. So many of these cops sit in their stations all day without actually patrolling , that's not how you secure communities.
Forge intelligence networks with the locals as well, so many things these guys are doing wrong. It's tiring, soldiers shouldn't be deployed for this, it's something the police can easily handle, if well resourced .

All they have to do is make it compulsory for people to carry an ID, which means police should stop and ask people for IDs at random, they do that here in New York where i live, and here in New York if the police stop you and you have no ID on you, they arrest you until your identity can be verified, yet no law in America says you must carry an ID with you. ( so there is a friction there)
So if Nigeria can do that, then you simply scan those faces with that ID database, here it's call DMV database.
If we are talking about tracking suspects in general that is, not BOKO, obviously most BOKO fighters won't have ID, who's gonna go into their hideout to check lol.
We have a long way to go to have these things situated, infrastructure, stable power, secure database that must not be breached, trusted individuals that will monitor and maintain such database etc.
So if we could have driver license database, that will help. The infrastructure is needed, which we don't have yet .It will get better.

tdayof:
You'll need banks data, passport, simcards, immigration , FRSC (driver's license) and others. I can bet it that the first state to have such large coverage in Nigeria will be Oyo state.

The state CCTV network which would start this year includes traffic CCTV cameras.
