I need your candid advice. My husband was short-listed for the on going screening of military force and he is working with AA rescue. If you were in his shoe, which will you choose Military service or AA rescue. Thanks
It depends on how long it will take. , he can apply for his annual leave and go for the screening , that's if he has interest. I commend him in advance, If we all sit back , soon Nigeria will be over run by terrorist and external forces, while those who come online to oppose such will be captured as well.
Car TalkRe: The Audi And Volkswagen Issues Resolution Thread by skillip(m): 1:49pm On Mar 30, 2018
prisonbreak:
Hello Sir, many thanks for the job you're doing, God bless you richly. I finally feel like I'm talking with someone who understands Volkswagen brand.

Please I need help here.
I drive a Volkswagen jetta
2006 model
2.5 engine

Six months ago I noticed that my transmission wasn't shifting smoothly, it was really disturbing until I stumbled upon a gentleman who advised to change the oil which we did. We used mobile oil and the gear got better. A few days back the same gear issues resurfaced, hard shift sometimes engine fires and struggles to go into gear 3/4.
i got to change the oil just yesterday, my mechanic said to use a particular brand called holt, as we speak the car won't even enter gear 2,mechanic now says there's a problem with my gear box.
It's interesting because I drove the car myself to his workshop, now it's not even driveable as it stalls in gear one. It's bad.

Please with your well of experience, what will you propose? Could it be the holt isn't working well with my car?

I also got the car scanned yesterday, it detected no2 plug bad and misfire.
Please help

Thanks for the anticipated response.
please. , let them scan it for you, don't let them continue with all this trial and error. Calm down it can be fixed though.

Newsline and Morning Ride were two different programmes. Danladi Bako started the Morning Ride show on NTA before politics chased him out grin
I think Sadiq Daba and late Yinka Craig started moring ride but not for long. As Danladi Bako took over. Correct me if I'm wrong though.

Car TalkRe: Passat Gearbox by skillip(m): 9:32pm On May 22, 2017
[quote author=deathwing post=56774999]The former owners mechanic poured wrong gear oil in it. So now the switching isn't so smooth after a long while spent driving. I know I still have to change the gear, but I was looking for a second opinion as per the cost and every.

It's an auto car. I can manage it if I want (the owner repaired it and managed it for almost a year), but I feel like I'd have to change it soon. Too embarrassing, the knocking sound it sometimes makes when the shifting isn't smooth.
Well I think you should have it scanned for a second. Oponion. You can drop your number if you want to I can refer you to someone there who will scan and tell you either to condemn or fix it. I don't want to drop his number here because he hasn't asked me to l. I also drive a Vw Passat. And that's where I usually fix my car if need be.
Car TalkRe: Passat Gearbox by skillip(m): 6:38pm On May 22, 2017
Op, if you are in Lagos just go to iyana-Itire and you will have a first hand knowledge before you go with your mechanic. You can also do what they call "counter balance". You sell your old gearbox and add some money to the one you want to buy. besides what exactly is wrong with it?
PropertiesRe: How To Plan The Interiors Of Your Building by skillip(m): 12:45pm On May 18, 2017
Hello. Op, I always like your write up and I commend you.
However, it will be more interesting if you spice them up with images too much writing makes it a bit uninteresting, imagine a topic like this and no single image on interiors.

Take a cue from Auto joshNg.

Keep it up.
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Sample Cover Letter That Should Land You That Job by skillip(m): 8:34am On Apr 18, 2017
badblog:
Your cover letter has not addressed anything.

A good cover letter should explain to the prospective employer why you are the best option for the job.

It should pick up some of the requirements from the job advert and explain how and when you accomplish this, this will make you stand out.

Also, I would not use the word "rewarding". no employer is looking for money focused employee, especially when they have little or no experience for the job they are applying.

- sorry for any typo's
you have spoken well indeed very well. Although I commend the op for this initiative it can only be better. This cover letter looks quite generic and doesn't address the issues. Each application has to have its own detailed cover letter.

ephemm:
You and your old man better go back and learn, the history of Abeokuta and his Kings were documented far beyond 1920.

The first Alake of Egbaland was Sagbua Okukenun who ruled between August 1854 to 1862. Prior to the appointment of Oba Sagbua Okukenum in 1846, Shomoye was installed as a Regent for one year, between 1845 and 1846 and following the demise of Oba Sagbua Okukenum in 1862, Shomoye return to the throne of the Alake of Egbaland as a regent where he spent four years between 1862 and 1868 before the appointment of Oba Ademola I in November 1869. He ruled for eight years until his demise on 20 December 1877. In January 1879, Oba Oyeekan was appointed has the Alake of Egbaland. He spent three years on the throne as a result of his death in September 1881. Thereafter, Oluwajin was appointed in February 1885 and ruled in this capacity for four years (died 1889). After two years of the vacant seat of Alake of Egbaland, Oba Oshokalu was appointed in September 1891. He ruled in this capacity for seven years until his demise on 11 June 1898. In the same year, Oba Gbadebo I became the Alake of Egbaland. He spent twelve years on the throne until his death on 28 May 1920.He died at the age of 66 years (1854–1920). Following the demise of Oba Gbadebo I in 1920, Ladapo Samuel Ademola II became the new ruler. He ruled for 42 years but was on exile for two years, (following protest by Egba women led my Mrs Funmilayo Ransome Kuti) between 1948 and December 1950. After his death in 1962, the throne was vacant for one year and on September 1963 Oba Adesina Samuel Gbadebo II was appointed as the new Alake of Egbaland. After the death of Adesina Samuel Gbadebo on 26 October 1971, Samuel Oyebade Lipede became the king. He ruled in this capacity for 33 years until his demise on February 2005, which led to the appointment of Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo III
@Ephemm, thank you very much for the correction, as an Egba man I was already getting angry at this distortion of our history. The Op tried but needs a better grasp of Egba history.
HealthSafety Tips In This Rainy Season. by skillip(op): 10:53am On Jun 21, 2016
It has been on my mind to bring up this topic and also get input from others, especially now that the rainy season is here. I hope we find them useful as we add others too.

1. DON'T WALK UNDER ELECTRIC POLES WHEN IT's RAINING: it's advisable to avoid such, I had this experience few weeks back, I hurriedly wanted to get to somewhere close by, my colleague said we should not walk under the electric pole, as we were about crossing, there was a spark and the wires divided into two. Imagine if we were still walking under thse poles.

2. BE MINDFUL OF HOW YOU STEP INTO A POOL OF WATER: As little as a pool of water may look we really need to be careful particularly in this rainy season, unknowingly some of these electric cables run unnderground and may have been exposed to the surface inside the water.

3. DON'T PARK YOUR CAR UNDER ELECTRIC OR HIGH TENSION WIRES: Just like the point is, safety is key and life has no duplicate.

I know there are many more tips to add and let's all contribute and stay alive this season.
PoliticsRe: Boko Haram Terrorists Now Trapped In Sambisa Forest – Military by skillip(m): 8:25am On Jun 09, 2016
This reminds me of bible times when the last king of Isreal was surrounded by the Babylonians I think, and they waited for them to either surrender or run out of supplies which they eventually ran out of.
Hoping thus will put an end to Boko haram and set the "captives" free.

@Op, from Mile 2 board a bus going to Oshodi, then upon getting to Oshodi walk down to the express(lagos/abeokuta expressway), ask for where you can board a bus going to Alagbado, alight at Kola(short word for Kollington)bus stop. Cross and probably ride a bike or marwa to your destination.
Car TalkRe: Change Engine Oil From Oando To Any Available Engine Oil. by skillip(m): 3:26pm On Apr 27, 2016
@Op, you are very right I have been to several Oando petrol stations, even called the Customer care they couldn't come up with any reasonable answer. So I intend changing to Mobil, my car specs for the engine oil reads 5w30, 5w40 specifically or any good oil is what's written on the car manual.
PoliticsRe: 5 Good Reason You Should Not Stay In Lagos by skillip(m): 5:26pm On Apr 10, 2016
@Op, that your first image I know you see dirt and flood, as for me I see money and I mean the potential recycling holds.
However, the reasons you mentioned are man made and not natural occurences. Therefore, if the peole and the government are willing it can be tackled with creative solutions.
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Urgenttttttttt by skillip(m): 9:35am On Apr 05, 2016
@Op, I hope it is not too late. From Iyana-Ipaja board a bus going to Ojota, cross to the other side and board a cab, the road itself is Ogudu road, just alight at your bus stop. I hope this helps. Cheers.

My brother, the thing tire me ooooo
The worse part is the way they hijacked the car key, just like an armed robber.
They actually target ignorant car owners.
Did you end up giving them money? How did they release you?
Honestly it was s if they jazzed me, they entered my car and took the keys while I was still being civil with them. Made a u-turn aand we drove from anthony-oke, all the way to alausa, I dropped something for them finally and got my car back around alausa, near that Tisco building.
Well, I still stop there daily after that time though and will continue, but not too close where the sign post is.

@Op, I was also caught there last week, but I think those peole are just a set of fraudulent guys, the mobile policeman wore a cardigan over is uniform to hide is identity, the other guys could not even identify themselves properly. I didn't want to drag with them because I had already called for our security detail from the office. If it's an illegal bus stop, why are those buses stopping there and are not been arrested?
