IyaTola: True, I learnt that any organisation that does ot value your time or communicate timely please run,it a huge red flag . Thank you. I remember back then we were recruiting for a C-suite level and it was delaying, intermittently I will go back and calm these people. After the interview one of them told my boss that she appreciated what I did because my boss gave me the feed back. These are just some basic interview tips. |

dfrost: Hmm...
I know, it's not easy to handle, I'm not in your shoes either. But always hear the other person's perspective (in this instance, the interviewer). . There is nothing to hear, if an interviewer is running late or there is a delay somewhere, you are suppose to communicate that and the front desk will inform the people starting with an apology " I am sorry we are running late..." Such organisations DO NOT value time, forget about any BS they want to come up with. |

podium: Good morning all,
I will make this short and brief. I have work in a school for 10years now. I started working there with a salary of 8k up till 20k. I now have a wife with 2kids. The salary was not taking care of us again. And I was left in taking loan. But in any academic session ie 1st, 2nd, 3rd term, apart from my salary I do see up to 100k or more base on tips and other deals.
I resigned February and I got a new job of 45k. Now my former job is calling me to come back, that I will be given 30k.. maybe when more pupils come my salary will be increase..
Former job * I go by 7.30 and close by 3.30 and have time with my family * Trekable from my house, I don't pay t.p. * I enjoyed public holidays and mid term break * I don't go on Saturday, still have time with my family * Tips and pension available
New job * I go by 7:30 and close by lastest 7:30 or 8 no time for my family * I pay 400 to and fro * I work on Saturdays no time for my family * No tips anywhere.. just your salary and you will be subcharge for any wrong posting.
I have 1 week to decide... Please help coz I am confused. If you are a teacher, I guess it is time to look for Pp to augment your present salary, start from your neighborhood, organise lessons and you self improve on your I.T or softskills. Put that free time on self development etc. Your former job is better to achieve this. |

Tgiirl: I know , some of us here gave me an advise not to drive on bolt. But I have to for some reasons whic I will state below:
1. I can nolonger keep receiving gift cos I'm now healthy and fit to work.
2. I have not gotten a good job back after several interviews and the few who sent an offer letter has a poor renumeration.
3. I have to start work as soon as possible to feed my home and pay my bills.
4. Last e-hailing is the closest I can do pending the time I get a job and it also give me time to be able to continue perfecting my programming skill.
Thanks you All If I may ask what role are you looking at? Will it be out of place to ask for your salary range? |

CampussNews: Update from SIGGY .ng
A Nigerian visual storyteller and tech reviewer, Fisayo Fosudo, went online on Thursday, February 10, to share how he rewarded his department, Siggy reports.
Fisayo revealed that he donated the sum of N1 million to his department's association in the University of Lagos (UNILAG).
The UNILAG graduate wondered how time flew by, saying it has been over five years he graduated from the department.
He stated that the department's association shaped him into who he is today. While still in the department, he was able to create programs that positively affected many lives.
Photos shared on the platform have him posing with a ceremonial cheque as he presented it.
Source: SIGGY . Nice one but Op you need to improve on your writing, I have read your write up and all I kept seeing is "department" , department of WHAT exactly? That's already lost in your piece l. |

Today I picked one young lady, she told me she does e-hailing too and has 2 cars , that she's been doing offline since November up till now and bookings keep coming in for her . Honestly they are levels to this business cc: dru, pearl wey them get fleet. In fact they call her a times to drive and she will lease her own car out thereby getting double earnings.
The other gist, I picked a lady today and on true caller her name came out as something "buddy" as the babe come out when I see "it" , I just remember how we dey use plastercine mould for small, after she alighted she was shy trying to hide it, but na my front she must pass so I looked and looked away. The girls of today are danger diabolic. |

Yesterday I got a request from Ikoyi to Ijede, Ikorodu (I hardly do offline because of security and before you know rider will remember all the stops they need to make along the way). On my way back I stopped at the famous Owode market, omo I trip for the place o whatever you need them go bring am for you. Unlike Ladipo where there's a shop, these guys just took me to the car and showed me what I wanted to buy. . I sort of like the place but what's the gaurantee of the parts? It's left to my mechanic sha. |

Pearl1910: That's how one man came with his anger and frustration to mechanic workshop yesterday...started shouting at my mechanic that mechanic knock his engine and now is using his car as tools box, he even punched d mechanic. That's how mechanic para for him back. Then the man started making calls to only God knows who. He told the mechanic his work has ended today.
We told mechanic to pack his things and leave for peace to reign. That's how the man started bragging that he will end his career and wishes for this year. That they will kill him at his command if he makes him angrier than he already is and nothing will happen. Then I said to the man, the fact that u have the power to do that doesn't mean it is right, ur anger is justifiable but to say u will end another man's life or lock him up unlawfully is not d way to go. God will judge us all. The man didn't calm down, he said even if God come down he will do what is in his mind. Last last he spoilt work for the mechanic and all d cars he was handling are being delayed by one day. I don't know how today will be.
Power, Pride, Anger and Evil mind. Let's humble ourselves, all this show of power is only valid at least while we wield it and at most while there is breath in our nostrils. You know one of the best advise I ever read here was from you after people were showing dashing boards and bragging , you said "....just do your Uber in peace.' , today now you've added this your last paragraph, I suppose give you award for it. The koko for every man is the breath in his/nostrils remove it and the person is a bloody gonna. Like the scriptures says "Pride goes before a fall..... |

northbird: I doubt people will leave the island to Badagry for beach sightseeing.
You can still get a ride out of the island beaches by 10pm to mainland easily. From Badagry axis, na war. The crime rate at that axis is alarming. Yes, traffic could pin you down on Ligali ayorinde, or road leading to Landmark, but you won't be afraid some loser will come out of nowhere to rob you in a gridlock.
Though I agree with you, the beaches are overhyped.. Esp. that alpha Beach.
Landmark is the only one that looks sane n its cos of a functional management. . True, I agree. However, I will rather go for a weekend and tour Badagry than this overhyped ones, one of the major constraint is the traffic on a day like this , mind you with time development will catch up with that zone and people from Mile 2 downwards will face that side, enough space for parking and too many private beaches there too.Lagos before na water full everywhere including rainy season. |

I think 1/3 of Lagos was at the bish(beach) today, the traffic na World Cup and this affected most parts of the Island. Unfortunately it's within the city that is already congested. Hopefully when Lagos-Badagry road is completed people can visit and see what beaches should look like not all these over hyped dirty ones. |
