Try and get a good and conscientious lawyer but try as much as possible for the matter not to get to court because if it eventually gets there you might spend two times the amount and the case might take up to 5 years and above. Speaking from experience 1 Like |

Politics / Seven Ex Governors And Others To Lose Loot Kept In Dubai by Skipfr(m): 3:56pm On Mar 22, 2016 |
Seven ex-governors, others to lose loot kept in Dubai by Yusuf Alli, March 22, 2016 at 9:15 am in Featured, News Update EFCC chair, minister off to retrieve cash All seems set for the repatriation of over $200billion stashed away by some former governors, ex-ministers and other public officers in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), The Nation learnt yesterday. Some mansions belonging to some former Politically Exposed Persons (PEPs) and their cronies or fronts may also be seized, a source said. Under the searchlight for stashing away cash or acquiring properties in the UAE are seven former governors, six former ministers, a fleeing presidential aide implicated in the $2.1billion arms deals, ex-military chiefs under probe, agents / fronts of some of these public officers and five chieftains of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP). A Federal Government team, comprising the Minister of Justice and Attorney-General of the Federation, Mr. Abubakar Malami, the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission(EFCC), Mr. Ibrahim Magu and crack detectives from the anti-graft agency, yesterday started comparing collated intelligence notes on the PEPs with their UAE counterparts. The EFCC officials arrived in Dubai on Saturday. The Minister left Abuja yesterday to join the team. It was learnt that the AGF had barely returned from an official assignment when an urgent travel arrangement was made for him. The delegation went to UAE in line with an agreement with the Federal Government. President Muhammadu Buhari in January signed a “Judicial Agreement on Extradition, Transfer of Sentenced Persons, Mutual Legal Assistance on Criminal Matters, and Mutual Legal Assistance on Criminal and Commercial Matters, which includes the recovery and repatriation of stolen wealth”. Seven former governors, six former ministers and a fleeing Presidential aide implicated in the $2.1billion arms deals, ex-military chiefs under probe, agents / fronts of some of these public officers and about five chieftains of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) have either stashed away funds in Dubai or acquired properties. A top source, who spoke in confidence, said: “The Federal Government team has met with those from the UAE on intelligence sharing, the list of those on EFCC radar, the number of highly-placed Nigerians with fat accounts in UAE and those with choice properties in Marina (Dubai), Bur Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Doha. ”Some of the former governors include one from the South-South, two from Northcentral, two from the Northeast, one from the Northwest, and one from the Southwest. “A former-governor had made botched attempts to transfer about $517million loot to Dominican Republic because UAE law is now strict. “More than six ex-ministers and a former presidential aide, who is on the run over the $2.1billion arms deals, were said to have acquired choice mansions and malls in UAE. One of the former ministers, who was alleged to own two houses in Dubai, was said to have served as a front for a former First Lady. “Another ex-minister had bought some malls through a few cronies in Dubai. The list of such agents is being screened. “Certainly, the anti-graft agency has tightened the noose on these former public officers and there is no hiding place for them. “The success of the collaboration between the Federal Government team and the UAE Government will determine when EFCC will release the concessions on some of these PEPs. Very soon, we will unveil these ex-political office holders.” According to sources, the government delegation discovered that many highly-placed Nigerians, including a few ex-governors and money laundering fronts, have fled from Dubai to Singapore, Casablanca in Morocco, Dominican Republic and some islands in the UK and in the Caribbean. Another source said: “From the trip so far, many big Nigerians have already ran away from Dubai to escape being arrested by the UAE authorities.” “Some of the ex-governors have also avoided visiting UAE until the coast is clear. They do not want to experience the same fate like ex- Governor James Ibori. “The frequency at which highly-placed Nigerians fly to Dubai for parties has considerably reduced because they are under watch by the UAE authorities. A source in the government last night said: “Yes, the AGF and the EFCC chairman with some top officials of the anti-graft agency are in Dubai for a follow-up technical session on the Mutual Legal Assistance between Nigeria and the UAE. “I can confirm the official trip and it is meant to recover looted funds.” The Chairman of the Senate Committee on Foreign and Domestic Debts, Senator Shehu Sani, said over $200 billion had been hidden in UAE. He said: “Over $200 billion is stashed away from Nigeria in Dubai alone. This may be monies stolen in the past 20 years. I am not talking about estates and bonds and other securities bought with Nigeria stolen money.” The anti-money laundering policy of UAE Central Bank reads in part: “Any person who commits, or attempts to commit, a Money Laundering offence shall be punished by imprisonment of up to 10 years and or a fine of between AED 100,000 and AED 500,000. ”In cases of multiple perpetrators, the Court, subject to its discretion, may exempt a perpetrator from the imprisonment penalty if he takes the initiative and reports the crime to the competent authorities prior to the knowledge of such authorities and if his actions lead to the arrest of the other perpetrators or seizure of the laundered money. ”Any establishment that commits an offence of money laundering, financing of terrorism or financing of any unlawful organisations, shall be punished by a fine of AED 300,000 and AED 1,000,000. ”Failure to report a suspicious transaction shall be punishable by imprisonment and /or a fine of between AED 50,000 and AED 300,000. ”Tipping off a person being investigated regarding a suspicious transaction shall be punishable by imprisonment of up to one year and/ or a fine of between AED10,000 and AED 100,000. ”Violation of the requirements of Airport Declarations shall be punishable by imprisonment and or a fine.” www.thenationonlineng.net/seven-ex-governors-others-lose-loot-kept-dubai |

Politics / Bypassing Of Electricity In My Apartment by Skipfr(m): 8:16pm On Mar 10, 2016 |
Need your advice on this nairalanders. I just relocated to a new apartment somewhere in Edo state and I noticed there is no meter in my own apartment. I asked the other tenants why there is no meter in my apartment and they told me it has been like that and that there is no cause for alarm as staff of BEDC will never detect this because the other meters will serve as a cover for my own apartment even though they are not paying the charges. Come to think of it, this will save me about 2k monthly from my salary but on the other hand, I am a die-hard Buharist and I am ready to do anything to make him succeed. Cheating BEDC which is been supervised by the federal government is like cheating the federal government headed by PMB. My question is should I expose this fraud knowing fully well it will affect other tenants or I should just relax and enjoy the free largesse? NOTE: If it were to be the tenure of GEJ I wouldn't raise such a post because I will see it as my share from the National cake. |

Religion / One Of The Reasons Why Gej Conceded Defeat At The Last Election by Skipfr(m): 12:33pm On Feb 28, 2016 |
“SOMETHING GOOD HAS COME OUT OF NIGERIA!!” Ambassador Raphael Horsfall, an Ambassador for Peace and Conflict Management for the United Nations at the Aso Rock in Abuja, has come to The SCOAN today with his wife, Mrs Horsfall to share their testimony of how God turned their situation around. In 2009, they came to The SCOAN for the first time. At that time, there was civil unrest and militancy was on high increase in the region they hail from - Niger Delta. Because of that, he, as a part of a delegation from the Niger Delta region came to The SCOAN for a solution and spiritual guidance to the situation in the area. They received guidance from Prophet T.B. Joshua and used that guidance to settle peace in the region. Since then, peace has reigned in the region. The reason they are here today is to celebrate what God has done in their marriage. After getting married, he discovered that his wife began having miscarriages. She continuously had miscarriages at 6 weeks pregnancy - up to five times. They went to all the best hospitals and specialists for a solution to their problems, all to no avail. At the hospital, they were examined and cross-examined and at the end of the day, it yielded no results. He was confused and received different advice from friends and family. The cycle of disappointment continued until His wife started feeling that the marriage was being threatened. One night, he remembered how God had used Prophet T.B. Joshua to settle peace in his region and he decided to come back to The SCOAN to seek solution for his personal problem. Finally, he came with his wife to The SCOAN and received the Morning Water before going back to Abuja. When they came back to Abuja, they prayed and ministered the Morning Water. After that, they met as husband and wife. Within a short period of time, his wife met him and told him that she was pregnant. They continued to minister the Morning Water throughout the pregnancy and today, they are here to give thanks to God Almighty for keeping the pregnancy. She is now eight months pregnant and due to give birth very soon. He is here to appreciate God for what He has used Prophet T.B. Joshua and the ministry of The SCOAN to do not only in his own personal life but also in Nigeria. He concluded by saying that he has heard the rumors that Prophet T.B. Joshua was planning to relocate and cried out to the Man of God that he shouldn’t relocate because the people that love him in Nigeria are more than those who don’t. He referred to the Bible, where people didn’t believe in Jesus, saying that nothing good could come out of Nazareth. People have been wondering if anything good could ever come out of Nigeria and he is here to testify that something good has come out – Prophet T.B. Joshua. Mrs Horsfall also shared her own side of the story as she thanked God for taking her thus far on the journey. Anytime she took in and conceived, she would first have a nightmare and when she woke up, she would see herself bleeding and then, the miscarriage would occur. It happened three times consecutively and she had already lost hope of ever carrying a baby. After coming to The SCOAN as the last bus stop, they ministered the Morning Water and then, met as husband and wife. Today, she is thanking God for breaking the cycle upon her; she is now eight months pregnant. She is advising viewers to seek first the Kingdom of God and every other thing shall be added unto you. To end his testimony, Ambassador Horsfall explained his recent post as Senior Special Assistant to the Political Advisor of the former President of Nigeria, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan. During a time of tension in the in the run-up to the election, there was confusion and worry as to which direction to follow in the government. They had sought advice from different places and different religious leaders. Ambassador Horsfall came to The SCOAN and pleaded with Prophet T.B. Joshua for God’s opinion and the man of God clearly stated that the election had been lost and they should concede defeat graciously. He took the instruction in righteousness back to the Aso Villa and told the president. A few months later, people wondered why the president didn’t fight back or annul the election as he had the powers to do so. This was the reason why. https://mobile.facebook.com/tbjministries/?refid=17&_ft_=top_level_post_id.1064795360307906%3Atl_objid.1064795360307906%3Athid.103470916440360%3A306061129499414%3A2%3A0%3A1456819199%3A2895981580126643837&__tn__=C 1 Like 1 Share |
