Your husband's Naira floating theory has made food and other essential commodity expensive and above the reach of Nigerians . Better peg the Naira at a realistic rate . Ban crypto and other frivolous dollar requests.

Your face and hers is not showing what are you hiding.? I wish you Happy married life.
In my case first 6 months was the issue but it's been 10yrs and 2 children. My advice is they make issues out of nothing, you can't win an argument, learn to not reply ignore and keep quiet. Finally money should always be available.

Your wife is a cheat. Cheating starts emotionally first. I advise you avoid having children with her to make your separation easy. You should not have married her in the first place.

Good idea. It will be implemented someday. Domiciliary accounts should be prohibited. You can't store idle funds in dollars in a Naira economy. Idle funds are not good for an economy

Explain how this policy crashes the economy? Do you understand the policy or you just want to comment?
Let me explain. Besides your experiencing it. Between N336 to $ in 2021 and N1550 to $ in 2023 a space of 1yr plus our population did not double neither did our manufacturing capacity reduce by half. So the question is why the sudden uncontrollable crash. Let me give you a hint. Wealthy Nigerians have a penchant to convert Naira to dollars and store in foreign economy that alone is bad for our economy. Can't type much am tired! Finally the principle of floating a currency is fundamentally wrong for a country like Nigeria. The United states may float their currency but have checks and balances one of it is law against unverified inflow from other countries . They simply will not allow you to bring unknown money and invest in a " house purchase" for example besides their wealthy citizens don't have a penchant to save their currency in EURO or GBP even when those currencies are stronger against the Dollar.
Politics / Re: Sanwo-olu: Red Line Rail Project Is Set For Commissioning by skj1377(m): 7:08pm On Feb 01
Splashme:

For the records, Sanwo-Olu did not build any rail line called "Red Line"

Nigerian politicians can be so deceptive. The cunning man simply picked the portion of the FG's funded (Lagos - Ibadan) rail line that falls inside Lagos territory and nicknamed it "Red Line"

The so-called "Red Line" starting from Agbado - Agege - Ikeja - Oshodi - Yaba/Oyigbo is a part of the larger federal govt owned Lagos - Ibadan railway project that falls under Lagos territory.

Sanwo-Olu should explain it this way to Lagosians, he won't die. All the governor is doing to procure the train coaches
.

He built terminals. Don't forget the federal government already plys this route but with old trains and ugly looking passengers. Try to see the kind of people that make use of the blue line.

Politics / Re: Buhari was defending naira, Tinubu floats naira which is the best policy? by skj1377(m): 1:19pm On Feb 01
Defending is best. Unecessary demand for dollar by companies and individuals that have no benefit to the economy is causing Naira to crash on the daily.

Naira is undervalued. Floating a currency does not give a fair value of any of the currency. Naira is taking a hit because everyone wants his Naira converted to dollars .

Even if the policy is reversed, does the govt have enough forex to back dollar demand? The black market will still float supreme.
The stenght of the naira has to do with how much foreign currency the country can boast of, or how solid its local production can fight off foreign demand
Yes. But not all Forex demand are legitimate. Our economy has to be regulated to prevent abuse of Forex request. Wealthy individuals want every Naira they make converted to dollars simply because they don't believe in Nigeria. A better regulated economy will filter out such Forex request.
Secondly, remittance from diasporas don't get to the central bank. What we have is an app that keeps Forex outside our economy only to credit recipient in Naira so the economy depends on only Government Dollar inflow from NNPC. A better regulated economy will stifle out such transaction. Finally am of the opinion that only Government should hold Forex. All domiciliary accounts should be closed.

The CBN governor has no solution. When he removed the stops put in place by the former CBN governor I knew he was dumb and a disaster was pending. Best thing is to sack him or a popular revolt may remove the person that appointed him. Any which way he needs to be removed and all his ideas reverted.
