.Mobil and disrespect for court orders
, The issues at stakes

Mobil has agreed to pay up the royalty owed the inventor of the anti corrosive special paint, King (Prof.) Clement Uwemedimoh', the news ranted the air. Moments later, the news filtered in that, 'Mobil Oil would rather negotiate the huge sum demanded from them by Comandclem,' I was still Indifferent. Where, then did the news that Mobil would pay originated from? Of course, from the Oil company. Immediately after the court judgment, the American owned oil company settled for payment, but with a caveat; that the court case still at the Supreme Court be terminated.

Again, Comandclem filed yet another suit to enforce, not only its fundamental rights, but seeking the enforcement of the various court orders delivered in favour of the King, Comandclem and the patentees in respect of the royalty. This was in early February. The matter then was pending at the Federal High court in Lagos, when the lawyer to Comandclem, Barrister A. Ahmed disclosed that at the instance of Mobil, the matter has been withdrawn to make room for, 'out of court settlement. We have opted for mediation, instead of litigation, he had said.

Not long, a team of mediators comprised of very prominent citizens, traditional rulers, religious leaders and politicians were brought together at the instance of King Uwemedimoh to handle the mediation, while the King himself and the team of lawyers would offer the technical, legal and other inputs needed by the negotiators.

The meeting progressed steadily, only stalled by the wave of political activities in past couple of months. However, when talks resumed recently, Mobil again, reintroduced the case at the Supreme Court as a clog in the wheel, saying it was awaiting the judgement.

Lets' digress at this point to look at the antecedent of this oil company. So much has been written on Mobil that at this point, I won't bother you with repetition, but review some cases in which Mobil has failed to respect or obey court order in a law abiding country as Nigeria.

The oil company has refused to reabsorb some 860 SPY Security personnel it wrongfully laid off, despite the ruling of the Supreme Court. The aggrieved workers had dragged Mobil to various courts terminating at the apex court, were Justice Mohammed Mahmud had ordered the parties to negotiate an out of court settlement.

Barrister Femi Falana, representing the workers had lamented the slow pace of the negotiation. He said, 'In appreciating the court's advice on this matter, we urge the court to again impress it on the appellant/respondent (Mobil), to speed up the process, because the sacked workers are suffering a lot of hardship.'

Again, Justice Dahiru Mustapha, who presided over the last sitting, had criticized the oil company for changing its mind after it had earlier conceded to the settlement option. Compare that with the plight of patentees of Comandclem and the inventor, King Uwemedimoh.

When the Niger-Delta youths in Akwa Ibom demanded compensation for oil spillages that had ravaged the communities from Mobil following their victory in court against Mobil at a Federal High court in Yenogoa and an Appeal Court in Lagos, the oil company paid deaf ears to their cries.

Mobil oil said they were not aware of any such matter before any court against it and would therefore not pay any form of compensation.
Environmental rights activists have accused Mobil of double standards, when they raised alarm over the danger posed by the illegal use of dispersants near the coast of Qua oil export terminal. The illegal use of the chemical causes respiratory discomfort and many residents in the area took ill.

Mobil refused to heed the cries of the affected communities and the environmentalists and continued in the use of the deadly chemical. In all the cases, the America oil company, has adopted delay tactics, complete disregard to lawful order, or feigns ignorance to avoid payment or any form of commitment or compensation to aggrieved persons or settlements or communities. It is the same strategy that it is applying in the issue of Comandclem.

The question is why would a company that have not denied knowing Uwemedimoh, but agreed it had a transaction with the inventor in 1980 to supply the anti corrosive paints and agreed that Uwemedimoh did supply the paints be engaging in delay tactics?. The answer is simple. Finding the paints suitable for the purpose it was intended- to prevent corrosion, the company merely entered into a verbal agreement with the inventor. But Mobil knew it was not an ordinary paint, as it claimed; it was an anti corrosive special paint. Again the question is did Mobil pay for the supplies in which a Purchase Order, signed by Mobil's Maintenance Manager was prepared for the supply of an initial 75 gallons of the special paint? No, says Uwemedimoh; yes, says Mobil. Then lets head for the courts. That was the beginning of the court cases that lasted for years.

King Uwemedimoh insists that there was an oral agreement between him and Mobil, to the effect that the company would pay $2 per barrel of crude produced by the oil company following the use of his invention, the special paint. It is the failure to keep faith with the agreement that has resulted in the over ten years of litigation. On the contrary, Mobil's claims that the Federal High Court in Calabar entered judgement in its favour, was challenged at the Court of Appeal were Comandclem won the case. It is also a lie that Comandclem have not taken any steps in furtherance of the appeal at the apex court, as explained by Mobil.

Anybody is free to demand for a Certified True Copy, CTC, of any court proceedings and judgement, and so the judgements referred to by Mobil; one of the Federal High court, Calabar of 28th November, 2008 and Court of Appeal of 8th December, 2009 are public documents.

The denial by Mobil that it never enters a payment schedule with either Uwemedimoh or Comandclem is of interest here, viewed against the backdrop of the huge amount involved and for which it would not want to dish out in one full pay.

When Uwemedimoh received the payment agreement schedule from Mobil, it not only paid the stamp duties, it notarized the document and went further to obtain a CTC, before dispatching a copy to the oil company for verification. The company failed to either acknowledge the document or reply to it. Isn't silence an indication of guilt? However, the pertinent question to ask here is: 'if Mobil is not using Uwemedimoh's anti corrosive special paint, what other paint or product is the oil company using in its daily crude exploration in the country?'

According to the scientist and inventor, 'my invention was stolen from me and taken to Holland, Amsterdam, were it was mass produced and our rights disenfranchised. When I got the patent license, I ask them for my royalty and patent right for the company treated me with disdain; the reason I went to the courts is to seek justice,' he said.

Did he get justice? 'Yes, I did, but the enforcement of the various judgments', but Mobil has sadly capitalized on the inept and unresponsive government to deny us our rights. Except the government moves in to assist us in enforcing the court orders, I cannot do it all alone. Mobil has bought over all those in authority who should have been of assistance to us. They just don't want to pay the money, they prefer giving the money as bribe to government officials and judges, and deny us our rights.' However, with the recent development, it is hopeful that, sooner than later, we are going to settle the matter, so that Mobil would pay up and put smiles on the face of the numerous patentees.

@ Yusuf_Akure, is this the story you're asking for? And by the way who is going after your dear life when we're all waiting for the payment of our royalties?
Then you should be vigilant and not take anything for granted.

NO! Not Now. NOT EVER!!!

Romans 1:24-32 (KJV)

"24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:

25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.

26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:

27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which
is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.

28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not
convenient;

29 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity;
whisperers,

30 Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,

31 Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:

32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them
that do them."

@ Y A, I think the stage is being set for a high stake drama in the negotiations and to really cause confusion here
in the Assembly. My dear Patentees, PLEASE let us heed Mr. Y A's advice on the 'The Way Forward' and Mr. Omokemesi's
candid observations on the unfolding drama with regard to the above documents. Let us not shoot ourselves in the foot by
commenting carelessly as we're all aware of the intent and mischievous objective of the Mobil lawyer.

Omokemesi:
", Meanwhile, I will advise  those among us who are hypertensive to go and check their BP, "
   ~omokemesi
Ha ha ha ha !  grin grin grin Very funny Sir, I've already done it since the negotiations started.

@ Yusuf Akure, thanks for the latest info. (MOBIL REPLIES KEY CCNL NEGOTIATOR).
This reply appears to be some kind of bombshell from Mobil or what?
I thought all along the issue have passed this stage of playing to the gallery by Mobil.

CCNL has already obtained a court judgement in her favour in Dec. 2009 against all those infringing on the invention
by Chief Uwemedimo and to which a patent certificate was duly issued by the Fed. Govt. of Nigeria in 1999 as confirmed
by their "summary of material facts".

Y A, pls throw more light on this 'bombshell' as this letter appears very recent and is capable of sending the wrong signals to
our esteem patentees.

@ Omokemesi, Sir what is your take on the above documents - it looks and sounds very unpalatable knowing that CCNL withdrew
the latest appeal from Court in order to facilitate and speed up negotiations. CCNL lawyer also confirmed it by saying that "to negotiate
is better than litigation" because of the long winding route litigation can take. I consider this letter and the accompanied document as
very sensitive to our cause. Should Y.A. not exercise some caution here?

1. What on earth is Mobil up to by this worthless assertions and trying to fool the Chief negotiator of CCNL?
2. Why is Mobil still using the word "allege" concerning this case as if the facts have not been established?

I hope Yusuf Akure will shed more light on this latest development.

Nothing can change the Truth.

"And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." (John 8:32 KJV)

@ sureboy505 and tenfour - 'Enuf is enuf' Sheath your swords! Bury the hatchet and forgive one another as brothers.
Remember, the power of Life and Death is in the tongue.

James 3:5-9 (KJV)
"5 Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things. Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindleth!

6 And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body,
and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell.

7 For every kind of beasts, and of birds, and of serpents, and of things in the sea, is tamed, and hath been tamed of mankind:

8 But the tongue can no man tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison.

9 Therewith bless we God, even the Father; and therewith curse we men, which are made after the similitude of God."

@ Omokemesi, thanks for the refreshing update.

It's very unfortunate that instead of directing our time and energy in praying for the success of the current
negotiations between CCNL and Mobil for the payment of our royalties, we now have these distractions.
"It is an ill wind that blows nobody any good"

I urge members of this great assembly to eschew narrow or personal interest as far as this battle which is in its
final stages is concerned.

Sir, Omokemesi, a big thank you for trying to instill discipline and some form of control in the postings. Surely in an open
assembly with people of differing views and interests, one is bound to experience this type of backlash.

@ GODSAYES, is this just a username or that "God really Say yes". Please look and think twice before you leap.

Would you have been talking about royalty payment today if King Uwemedimoh had taken to arms in fighting this battle?
This battle is better fought on our knees than by use of force or arms. This Assembly is certainly NOT the place to start this
type of misadventure you are thinking. Save us the time and energy. If you can't cope with our methods, ask God to give you
the patience and endurance to weather the battle legitimately. I repeat, ours is NOT (NairaLand to take note too) an arms
struggle but an assembly of like minded individuals with a common interest - payment of of our royalties by Comandclem from
Mobil Oil.

We thank God for this medium of Communication graciously provided by Nairaland and would not want anything that will

PoliticsRe: The Demystification Of The North by skydeexie(m): 2:06pm On Apr 20, 2011
Therefore using the new power at our disposal now and if the Good Lord tarries, barring all unforeseen circumstances like war, natural disaster, etc;
the political power rotation as to who governs Nigeria for the next 30years should appear as follows given the 8year cycle of two tenures:
(I do not mind a reversal to a 5 or 6 years one term tenure to enable other ethnic nationalities to have a go at governance too)

Years: 2011 - 2014: South-South (currently) This is reasonable because the Igbos will be next.

2015 - 2022: South-East (Igbos)

2023 - 2030: Middle-Belt

2031 - 2038: North

2039 - 2046: South-West

After this cycle is complete, we can start all over again, that is, if Nigeria has not already metamorphosed into the 3 countries suggested above.
PoliticsRe: The Demystification Of The North by skydeexie(m): 11:46am On Apr 20, 2011
@bermuda1, You've gotten this analysis right on the spot and dead on target too! I wonder why this topic is not on front page already. Most of the posters have digressed from the main thrust of your analysis.

Behold how the mighty monolithic north has fallen, just like the legendary Goliath. The cat has been let out of the bag - a case of united we stand, divided we fall. The north has been using this divide and rule tactics (especially the religious factor) to a very devastating and conclusive effect to achieve their secret agenda of perpetual rule.

Now they are crying like overfed and pampered babies realizing only too late that the game is finally up. They've gone up a notch higher to reveal their true basic character of killing, stealing and destruction. As a middle belter this is what we have been clamouring all along, that if we can only join forces with the entire South; politically, religiously and economically we can take charge of our various destinies and no so-called "northerner" can ride on our shoulders ever again. This is the very war that Plateau State has been fighting all these years - imagine that in the twinkle of an eye the entire north was engulfed in religious and political crisis.

As you're already aware there's no distinction between religion and politics in Islam - no separation between 'state' and 'religion', they are one and the same thing. Herein lies the crux of the matter - the South and Middle belt are always gullible in  believing the muslims that such a separation exists when as matter of fact it does not. This is what they have been using as a means of control to ensure they rule us forever. To the muslim you can’t have or pursue one without the other, politics means religion and vice-versa. That is why their first target in any attack are Christians and Churches. However, belatedly our own Christian Clergy and politicians will be the first to say this fight has nothing to do with religion.

Mark it, if Nigeria finally separates or divides, guess who will first call for this separation - the North. Even in this mayhem and confusion they unleashed on us, we could hear the distant thunder and call for separation being echoed in their midst - calling for "araba" that is separate now. I might add that this might well be the beginning of the end. The pattern of election has already betrayed itself with a clear delineation and demarcation of the new boundary of two brand new countries in the making or possibly three - that is if the middle belt decides to be on its own too. What a great scenario this can turn out to be. With the entire South having Lagos as its new Capital, Middle belt having Abuja as their new Capital and the North possibly having the half of Kaduna or Kano as their own new Capital. Does this sound like a daydream? I make bold to say NO. With God all things are possible.

I would like to advise the Igbos and other tribes who may not feel secure in the "New North" to start considering relocating to the Plateau as there's plenty of land especially fruitful and vast agricultural land to accommodate everybody. Plateau State will readily assist in this direction. You may not realize it, Plateau is the most friendly and peaceful State to live in regardless of all that has been happening in the recent past, of'course we all now know the cause of our problems.

If we can put our heads together and sink our minor differences and misunderstandings as we have done in this election and unless by special arrangement or agreement, no northern Hausa muslim can rule us in this country again, not ever. We need not separate in war but if it becomes inevitable given the current madness in the north, who are we to say no. The military can eventually sort themselves out in the new arrangement.

Remember, they also desperately tried to enlist sympathy from the armed forces as the last trump card in their arsenal to woo them into taking power. But the military are now the wiser for it, even though there are still some rogue elements within that establishment who will readily dance to their mischievous plans. They jubilated in some of the northern states capitals on the wild rumours that the army has “taken over” power. The so-called “North" will never remain or be the same again. Wise up Southerners and Middle Belters, there is power in UNITY especially the power of religion. Not all muslims sanctions the madness that is going on but the trouble is they must be seen to be toying the majority and Islamic view else they’ll be the worse for it. Imagine the destruction they visited on their own people just because they’re supporting the “wrong” party. That is why you will hardly hear any condemnation coming even from the educated ones. No matter what happens from now onwards, Nigeria will never be the same again in terms of political and religious re-alignments.

Given the choice of unfettered freedom, most muslims will prefer to live in a new Nigeria devoid of all this unnecessary bloodletting and wanton destruction of property in the name of religion – consequently they will opt out of islam completely if not for the death fatwa on apostasy declared by their prophet that, “Whoever changes his (Islamic) religion, kill him.” (Ibn Abbaas – Al-Bukhary No.6922)  Only the brave will survive!

John 10:7-11(KJV)
"7   Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep.

8   All that ever came before me are thieves and robbers: but the sheep did not hear them.

9   I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.

10  The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy:
I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

11 I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep."

Well, well, well, it seems the Assembly is on Fast-Foward with Patentees coming in newly.
A big welcome to all especially the female patentees whom we've not been hearing from at all.
It can be very frustrating and a bit intimidating not knowing the latest info. or where to look for it.

In addition to @GODSAYES suggestions above, here are some some few more:

1. Patentees coming here newly should go over the forum and read the postings generally.
2. Read well Mr. Omokemesi's (Founder of the Assembly) postings because it usually carries the latest news about Comandclem.
3. Read other patentee's postings too for views and general knowledge of what is happening elsewhere about Comandclem.
4. Comandclem has three Official news and information outlets, namely:
i. http://www.comandclemng.org/ - This is their 1st official website with all relevant information about the company & the welfare scheme.
ii. http://www.theliberationnewsonline.com/ - This is their online newspaper that carries latest patentee news.
iii. http://www.comandclemonline.com/ - The 3rd official website but seems to be having browsing problems at the moment.

Now you have the information you need at your finger tips!

Goodluck to everybody! Goodluck to all Patentees!! Goodluck to Comandclem!!! Goodluck to Goodluck Jonathan on Saturday 16th April 2011

Romans 3:23 KJV
"For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God."

Romans 5:6-12 KJV

7  For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die.

8  But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

9  Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.

10 For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.

11 And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement.

2  And Jesus answering said unto them, Suppose ye that these Galilaeans were sinners above all the Galilaeans, because they suffered such   things?

3  I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.

Titus 2:11-15

11 For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,

12 Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;

13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;

14 Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.

15 These things speak, and exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no man despise thee.

While welcoming everybody's contribution to this assembly let's not overdo and undo ourselves by directing issues that only
the comandclem officials can answer as suggested by 1Dray in his post. I'm beginning to see this thread going the way of
previous ones. We shouldn't allow it please.

@ Omokemesi, May God richly bless you for this recognition and it shall be well with us in Jesus Name.
Patience and Prayer are the two keys we need to forge ahead.

Always read the Bible in context. I can also quote a verse from the same chapter in Isaiah for you. And how about this:
Isaiah 45:22-24
22 “Turn to me and be saved, all you ends of the earth; for I am God, and there is no other.
23 By myself I have sworn, my mouth has uttered in all integrity a word that will not be revoked:
Before me every knee will bow; by me every tongue will swear.
24 They will say of me, ‘In the LORD alone are deliverance and strength.’”
All who have raged against him will come to him and be put to shame.

@ harakiri - Irony of Ironies

1.  You want to make it clear that "the Christian god is nothing more than fable stories cooked up by nomadic goat herders in the middle east, "
2.  The Bible is "further improved by the Greeks to suit their purpose of puppeteering the masses." (whatever that means!)
3.  According to you, "It is no different from Islam and other religious sects round the globe (and is no different from our stories of evolution e.g
     Orunmila,Sango,Amadioha and so on)."
4.  You want one concrete proof outside the Bible: "then show ONE concrete proof that the bible is indeed the word of the creator (without
referring   to the same bible that is filled with hundreds of inconsistencies and contradictions)."
5.  Incest - "It's all there in that book of lies and stories you claim to be the word of some non existent god that only exists in your mind."

Observations:

Why are all your summations ironies? The same Bible you're castigating and discrediting and insulting the Almighty Creator God, is the SAME
Bible you used in advancing and proving your points - yet you don't want this same Bible to be used in giving you answers to your question.

Mark it and mark it clearly - You (as a human being made in the image of God) are the very proof that God truly exists and His word the Bible is true. Remember,  The fool says in his heart,  “There is no God.”  (Psalm 14:1)

How would you have known what incest is, if the Bible had not reported it. The Bible is a mirror that reflects all that is wrong with mankind. It is the ONLY road map for mankind's salvation including you. The Bible does not hide anybody's sins and does not condones it.

The mere fact that you picked on the Christian God alone to malign shows that something is terribly wrong somewhere. You cannot understand the
Christian God by insulting Him. You really have to humble yourself and come to him with a repentant heart. Rule out pride if you want to know the
Christian God.

Why do you "detest" the idea of homosexuality? Why is the thought of it "horrid and disgusting" to you? Is it your conscience telling you how
wrong it is? Who put that conscience in you? Is it God or evolution and the other gods that you have mentioned? Other religions shows man
by his own futile efforts trying to seek a Holy and Just God. Whereas Christianity is God reaching down to sinful mankind through His Son Jesus Christ as the ONLY means of saving him.

Without God and His Son Jesus Christ, mankind is on her way to perdition. It is only Jesus who can save. Run to him for your life and be saved.

I Corinthians 2: 10b-16 (NIV)
", The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God. 11 For who knows a person’s thoughts except their own spirit within them? In the same way no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God. 12 What we have received is not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may understand what God has freely given us. 13 This is what we speak, not in words taught us by human wisdom but in words taught by the Spirit, explaining spiritual realities with Spirit-taught words. 14 The person without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God but considers them foolishness, and cannot understand them because they are discerned only through the Spirit. 15 The person with the Spirit makes judgments about all things, but such a person is not subject to merely human judgments, 16 for,

“Who has known the mind of the Lord
   so as to instruct him?”

But we have the mind of Christ. "
Christianity EtcRe: Why Did God Make Homosexuals? by skydeexie(m): 6:09pm On Mar 28, 2011
@ Poster, My brother or sister, God did not make homosexuals. It is SIN (disobedience to God) that marred his creation. (Genesis 3)

Gen1:26-31
"26 Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals,[a] and over all the creatures that move along the ground.”

27 So God created mankind in his own image,
   in the image of God he created them;
male and female he created them.

28 God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground.”
29 Then God said, “I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food. 30 And to all the beasts of the earth and all the birds in the sky and all the creatures that move along the ground—everything that has the breath of life in it—I give every green plant for food.” And it was so.
31 God saw all that he had made, and it was very good. And there was evening, and there was morning—the sixth day."

Yet God did not allow us to wallow in our sins and perish eternally. Graciously and mercifully He sent His own dear Son, the Lord Jesus Christ
to come and take on himself the just punishment that is due to us, so that whoever believes and places his/her faith on him will be saved from eternal condemnation. This is the simple message of salvation being proclaimed in the world today. However there are many today who hates to hear this message because, I Corinthians 1:18-25(NIV) says:

18 For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.
19 For it is written:

   “I will destroy the wisdom of the wise;
the intelligence of the intelligent I will frustrate.”

20 Where is the wise person? Where is the teacher of the law? Where is the philosopher of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world? 21 For since in the wisdom of God the world through its wisdom did not know him, God was pleased through the foolishness of what was preached to save those who believe. 22 Jews demand signs and Greeks look for wisdom, 23 but we preach Christ crucified: a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to Gentiles, 24 but to those whom God has called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God.
25 For the foolishness of God is wiser than human wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than human strength.
PoliticsBarack Obama's Top Secret Tent by skydeexie(op): 6:21pm On Mar 26, 2011
Barack Obama's top secret tent

A rare photo, released by the White House, shows Barack Obama fielding calls from a tent in Brazil, to keep up with events in Libya. The tent is a mobile secure area known as a Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility, designed to allow officials to have top secret discussions on the move.

They are one of the safest places in the world to have a conversation.
Designed to withstand eavesdropping, phone tapping and computer hacking - Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities - also known as SCIFs, are protected areas where classified conversations can be held. They can be permanent enclosures within a building, or mobile areas set up when a world leader is on the move, to allow them to view sensitive documents or have secret conversations without any outsiders listening or hacking in. When operations in Libya commenced at the weekend, President Obama was in Brazil on a pre-arranged trip.

Ring of Steel
In order to keep abreast of events a mobile war room was set up in his hotel so he could hold a secure conference call with Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, National Security Advisor Tom Donilon and Secretary of Defense Robert Gates, among others. A photo released by the White House showed the president and advisers gathered around a video phone, inside what looked like a standard blue tent, erected on the hotel's floral carpets.

Making sure no-one can intercept the activities in the room requires detailed planning, says Mark Pfeifle, who worked as a deputy National Security Adviser in the White House under George W Bush. "When a president travels in the US or internationally one thing a team is doing in advance of the visit is locating and securing a certain area where the tent could be placed," explains Mr Pfeifle.
It has to be positioned carefully in relation to windows, and concentrations of people.

Hotel rooms, as used by President Obama in Brazil, are a popular place to locate them, but it can depend on the nature of the trip and where the president is. Once you have located a place for the tent, the next issue is making sure it is completely secure.

Windowless rooms
This can mean creating a self sufficient pod with its own air supply, says Phil Lago, who is one of the founders of Command Consulting Group, a company which provides SCIFs to government agencies. "We have to make sure that any kind of emissions don't get out. That could be from your laptop, your radio, your telephone," he explains.

Rather than a ring of steel around a secure complex, he likens it to a "ring of electronic waves" which prevents signals from getting in and out of the tent. The only signal which can get out is the encrypted communications, which are made through a secure and encrypted phone line, which sends conversations through a satellite, he says. Nothing in a SCIF is allowed to operate on a remote control because that's a frequency that can be tapped.”

"We never knew if there was someone in the building with a long range listening device," he says. "If we put up a tent in a secure area we knew the president could go in and feel fairly confident that a conversation is private." Mr Lago recalls travelling with George W Bush to Kennebunkport, where the president used his mobile SCIF to conduct discussions with Tony Blair, who was in Downing St, about Afghanistan and Iraq.

The exact specifications of a mobile pod are top secret, but a public document (The intelligence community directive 705) states that a SCIF, mobile or not, needs not only to be totally soundproofed, but built with an "Intrusion Detection System" to detect any break-ins. The tent itself is windowless and is made from a secret material which is designed to keep emissions in and listening devices out.
Only those specially authorised can go inside a SCIF, with entry usually requiring a combination of pin numbers, access badges and biometric data.

The perimeters of the tent might be controlled by guards, but there would also be people monitoring outside to see if any data gets out. "You have a line of defence for everything," says Mr Lago. Carrying a mobile SCIF around is an important part of any presidential trip, he says, adding that they are getting easier to transport.
"You can usually fit them into two large foot lockers and that's most of the equipment you need. In the old days you had to put them in the back of a trailer," he says.

As well as mobile tents used to hold conversations, many permanent SCIFs are used to hold secure meetings, in offices and embassies. They are typically constructed with bomb proof walls and similarly tight security measures, explains Michael Creasey, director of development at CSG partners, another company which provides SCIFs.

He says most of his customers are government or defence contractors and departments, but might also be companies who are working on a new design for a plane or a ship and want to hold secure conversations. When creating SCIFs for clients Mr Creasey says he can use a range of equipment, from a fence which alerts you when someone is touching it to cameras, or devices which can tell when someone has just received an e-mail.

High stake politics goes along very well with security.
After buying the new presidential jets, GEJ should also consider buying his own secret tent for top security meetings.

PoliticsWhy We Handed Power To The North - Harold Smith Former Colonialist In Nigeria by skydeexie(op): 6:03pm On Mar 26, 2011
Harold smith, former colonialist in Nigeria opens up
….Why we handed power to the north

The man Harold smith is not new in Nigerian history. He is one of the architects of colonial foundation that midwife Nigeria's independence in 1960. I met him in a meeting three weeks ago where he opened up a bit about the lingering problem in Africa especially; Nigeria’s unbalanced protracted social political situations. We asked if he could make this known to the media. His response was “I am in my 80s now; I have agreed but in the past 'they' did not want me to say anything, but now I don't want to go to my grave without telling the truth about the atrocities perpetrated in Africa by the colonialists. On Ben TV last Thursday, Harold Smith was on a programme to reveal what went behind the scene before the independence. The Oxford University graduate had this to say about his role in Nigeria's pre and after independence era.

Our agenda was to completely exploit Africa. Nigeria was my duty post. When we assessed Nigeria, this was what we found in the southern region; strength, intelligence, determination to succeed, well established history, complex but focused life style, great hope and aspirations. The East is good in business and technology, the west is good in administration and commerce, law and medicine, but it was a pity we planned our agenda to give power “at all cost” to the northerner. They seemed to be submissive and silly of a kind. Our mission was accomplished by destroying the opposition at all fronts. The west led in the fight for the independence, and was punished for asking for freedom. They will not rule Nigeria!

Harold Smith confessed that the census results were announced before they were counted. Despite seeing vast land with no humans but cattle in the north, we still gave the north 55 million instead of 32 million. This was to be used to maintain their majority votes and future power bid. He stated that the west without Lagos was most populous in Nigeria at that time but we ignored that. The north was seriously encouraged to go into the military.

According to him, they believe that the south may attain western education, but future leaders will always come from military background. Their traditional rulers were to be made influential and super human. The northerners were given accelerated promotions both in the military and civil service to justify their superiority over the south. Everything was to work against the south. We truncated their good plan for their future. “It was a great party too much for African standard. We planned to destroy Awolowo and Azikwe well, the west and the east and sowed a seed of discord among them”. We tricked Azikwe into accepting to be president having known that Balewa will be the main man with power. Awolowo has to go to jail to cripple his genius plans for a greater Nigeria.

However, Harold smith justified the British agenda of colonialism in Nigeria, which he believed was originally to help build Africa after the ruins of slave trade, but lamented that the British only looked after themselves and not after Nigerian interest. The British really let Nigeria down. When I see Nigeria been accused of fraud and from what I saw on the streets of Lagos; the British were worst fraudsters.

Looking at the northern leaders now he said, “If they have any agenda in Nigeria at all, sadly it is only for the north, and nothing for Nigeria. He stated that the British look after the British people and this is so all over the world. He said the time has come now to see people of intelligent minds with an open and inclusive agenda for all Nigerians in power people who will really look after Nigerians large population but” I still curiously and sorrowfully see now that the British has not let go of Nigeria her wealth, her potentials, her future. He opined that the Caucasian people now assert themselves as the keeper of the “New Age” keys. He therefore said that it is only logical for Europeans to maintain their position of power, scientific superiority, economic exploitation, they must continue to perpetuate their lies and falsehoods and this is the unkindest cut of all in relation to Nigeria situation!

According to him, Nigerian, a great nation was crippled not because of military juntas or corrupt leaders alone but by the British and American fear of Nigeria great future. He confessed, “The fear of the place that will be our 'dumping ground' really occupied our minds”.

Some of the things he said were not new to Nigerians or to the whole world but hearing it from the horse's mouth is quite revealing and established more reality zones. He finally sub-mitted that the colonial masters have caused havoc while they were in Africa, and planted timed bombs when they finally left. What we see since independence, the administration of new internal colonial masters by fellow Nigerians holding sway in power is doing more damage to Nigeria. Instead of detonating the time bombs planted by the British, the north is planting mines. He added that 'It was my duty to carry out all of the above and I was loyal to my country. Nigeria should try to be loyal to their national leaders and followers alike. Love your country. You have got the potentials to be great again and the whole world knows this'. I am sorry for the above evil done to Nigeria. I can't say sorry enough.
