Minjim:So why is sharia law firmly entrenched in the Nigerian constitution, a secular country? |
goslowgoslow:The Black Stone in Mecca is the greatest form of idolatry on earth. Why do they kiss the stone? By kissing the stone, they believe all their sins will be forgiven. Yet Muslims claim they don't worship idols. What an irony! |
onuman:Classic case of too late to cry when the head is off. He should come out clean and address the real issues. No need to whitewash, |
It's a lot of crap and useless speculation that does nobody any good. Africa as a whole not just Kenya need lots of business investment and development that will improve the lives of average citizens from the shackles of poverty and degradation. This is a real Israeli business man. This is the way to go. Nigeria and the middle belt region is waiting with open hands for such a grand opportunity. Stop living in your self-inflicted ignorance please. Who have the so-called "Palestinians" ever helped? |
Uprightness100:Check purpled word: "Manipulated" would've served better. Like Paul the Apostle, be guided. Remember the weak in faith who are struggling to overcome their past lives of immorality, this might send a trigger and a wrong impression. This is a public forum, an all-comers affair where anything goes. |
searchng4love:Yes ooh, he's definitely doing something right, otherwise I don't see any reason for this hullabaloo of a protest! Have you forgotten the Shiek Gumi and other Islamic clerics claims that Abuja belongs to them? Remove Governor Wike my foot. Continue on with the mess cleaning work of the FCT created by the same islamist ministers over the years. Well done Sir! Tinubu should not make that mistake of removing you. |
The Nation [/b]They’ll know who we know’: APC Rep under fire for Plateau Guber Remarks[/b] Yusuf Gagdi, a member of the house of representatives BY SAMUEL AKPAN NOVEMBER 21, 2023 2:26 PM Yusuf Gagdi, a member of the house of representatives, has come under intense criticism for his comments on the Plateau gubernatorial dispute. In a viral video, Gagdi who was addressing All Progressives Congress (APC) supporters, was heard saying: “We have gone to appeal court and the final destination is the supreme court, and we will meet there. That is where we will know whom they know and they will know whom we know”. Gagdi, who chairs the house committee on navy, made the comments before the court of appeal in Abuja sacked Mutfwang Manasseh as governor of Plateau state. In nullifying Manasseh’s election and upturning the judgment of the tribunal, a three-member panel of the court led by Elfrieda Williams-Dawodu, held that Manasseh was not validly sponsored by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the election. The court ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to revoke the certificate of return issued to Manasseh and issue a fresh one to Nentawe Yilwatda, candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC). Manasseh described the appellate court’s decision as a temporary setback, stating that he has instructed his legal team to file an appeal at the apex court. The court of appeal had also nullified the elections of PDP members in the the senate and house of representatives including those of Peter Gyendeng representing Barkin-Ladi/Riyom federal constituency; Musa Bagos representing Jos south/Jos east federal constituency and Beni Lar representing Langtang north/Langtang south federal constituency. The lawmakers were removed by the court over invalid nomination. THE BACKLASH On Monday, the PDP condemned Gagdi’s comment, calling on Olukayode Ariwoola, chief justice of Nigeria (CJN), to set up a judicial panel of inquiry to probe the lawmaker’s “public boasting”. The opposition party said Gagdi’s comments indicate that judgments of the courts on election cases are influenced. “Nigerians were appalled by such boastings as also contained in a viral video by an APC leader, Hon. Yusuf Gagdi, a member of the House of Representatives from Plateau State,” the PDP said. “The conduct of the Plateau State Election Appeal Court Panel and the boastings of the APC is eroding integrity, potency and confidence of Nigerians in the time-tested saying that the judiciary is the last hope of the common man. “More worrisome is that the public claim by the APC that it has persons even at the Supreme Court has directly put the integrity and honour of the highest temple of Justice in our country at stake.” The legislator is also under fire on social media, especially on platform X, over the remarks Gagdi represents Pankshin/Kanam/Kanke federal constituency of Plateau state in the lower legislative chamber. |
BUSHHUNTER:The onus is on you to prove it or forever keep your ignorance to yourself. |
Angelfrost:It couldn't have been said any better than this. ....Remove the damned log....1st |
Billionairly:Don't mind this double-minded hypocritical politician, in addition, he never condemned the genocide in Plateau - Bassa, Riyom, B/Ladi, Mangu, Bokkos, Jos-North, Jos-South and Jos-East Local Government Areas. The so-called Fulani-herdsmen have occupied vast swath of land in most of these LGA S. |
jesusjnr2020:Perfect Answer! |
Fejoku:Àgreed - Shame on NTA, shame on the Police and a big shame on the intelligence community. Has the Taliban finally taken over in Nigeria? ![]() |
greenie77:Yes Las Vegas, the very sin city on earth, just like Ephesus during the time of the Apostles but it never stopped them from serving God and proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ. They had no aeroplanes, cars, internet, radio or TV and yet they served God faithfully. We have all the conveniences of life today, why then is it hard to serve God? Imagine if late Michael Jackson had used his music, influence and popularity to serve Christ, more than half of the youth who attend and faint during his concerts would have been on fire for Jesus. My advice to MI: Your father is a Man of God, somehow I think you went against his advice and plunged into secular music in search of worldly fame, riches and popularity. Now that you've gotten it all you're finding it hard to serve God in "Lagos"? As the pure thorough bred 'Jos boy' that we all know you, please go back to your roots. It's not too late to have a rethink and go back to your divine appointed destiny. I'm writing with the hope that God will direct you to read this piece of advice. You can't grow more or be popular than Michael Jackson. Where is he today? Satan promises wealth, fame and popularity but he can NEVER truly deliver on his promises. |
smallsmall:"Before you start wanking-off, l am a Christian, one that reads and understands his Bible very well. Even if you like, say l am not, your wahala" It will be your "wahala" now if you don't study the Book of Romans from chapters 1 to 16 in the Holy Bible. Do not say I didn't tell you. |
Ayo2004:Why the insult? Can you tell us what crime Righteousness 2 has committed by informing the public to prepare for their future lives? |
RapistOnBail:@Bolded - Because of your sins He was nailed. Have you accepted the free offer of salvation from Him to escape HELL FIRE? |
Omicron007:Read Matthew 24 (the whole chapter) in the Bible if you're in doubt. The frequency and intensity of these happenings has increased four fold. Be guided, be wise, the end times are here with us! |
Xilsbridalhouse:I found it so strange even with the level of football lovers. Are we overwhelmed with Nigeria's problems. We can find some relief in football I believe. |
Folabifreeman:Don't you know that Twittering leads to kidnapping, herdsmen attack, rape, abductions, peaceful protest and inflation? ![]() Don't mind them jare they have their priorities turned upside down. |
Jollylolly:Care to tell us how he's flaunting ![]() |
Does Nairaland has a Plan B In case she's suspended too? Well, never say never, I can see the FG's tentacles coming on this forum. Resist it with all your might people ![]() |
In view of Twitter's suspension in Nigeria, does Nairaland itself has a Plan B? I can see it coming people, what if Nairaland activities is suspended, think of the garbage and sleuth that goes on here especially the abuses/gutter language. Just thinking ahead. |
gidgiddy:Agreed 100%. He should be very careful what he wish for the so-called North. |
Nemere2020:Let us get it straight, NIGERIA IS A SECULAR STATE. Therefore SHARIAH itself has no business being in the Nigerian Constitution - REMOVE SHARIAH FROM THE CONSTITUTION!!!! |
Muyiwaipere:Daily Trust is being economical with the truth, prior to this attack, 3 teenage girls were massacred by "unknown" Fulani gunmen about a month ago in the same community. Two died on the spot and one gave up in the hospital a week later. Rather, this is a reprisal attack from the area. Daily Trust should give the other side of the story. |
stanliwise:Should they fight with slings, bows and arrows? ![]() |

Where is Vladimir Putin, Benjamin Netanyahu, Chuck Norris or Trump when you need them the most? Even the North Korean dictator would have made sure kidnapping becomes history in Nigeria. As long as these depraved psychopaths are treated with kid gloves, so long will the enterprise continue. A particular religion has complicated this problem, that's why we found ourselves in this mess. Almighty God help Nigeria! |
