Has Buhari defeated Atiku? The way people talk of the forthcoming elections as if Atiku is no force to reckon with in the scheme of things. Atiku was begged by obj in 2003. In 2007 he really embarrassed obj. In 2011 he was ahead of IBB. Atiku is part of the so called PDM structure that used to control northern votes in the past which was used to demolish Awo and also helped MKO. Same structure was used by the senior Yardua in the 1992 elections. Atiku maintains an excellent relationship with the US as symbolized by his American University in Yola. I think Atiku might be a much more formidable force than GMB. He doesn't need any loan for his elections and may likely pick the APC ticket. If that happens, GMB may form his own party before the elections and cry after the elections as usual. Watching the turn of events.

But Buhari lost when he chose Tunde Bakare as running mate. From experience, such losses are not necessarily attributed to the choice of running mate as the OP tried to posit. Rather its a reflection of the electorates views on the presidential aspirant. However, Bakare's selection was seen as a hypocritical step by a man widely known as a fanatic. If he had chosen a non-pastor at the time his chances would have been brighter as even Bakare also lost his ward!!! A muslim-muslim ticket would fail massively especially with the turn of events of recent by terrorists trying to islamize Nigeria. If uve lost someone close to u in those crises then u would understand the pain people feel about such gamble.

I agree with obj, but he should have threatened the governor with treason which implies outright removal and arrest.

Good development, I believe every part of the country has something to offer. They should also check Nasarawa State, there's a place that the Chinese have been digging up sand which many believe contains diamond and taking same to their country in the last 5years.

I know the US claimed to have killed Bin Laden several times before he was finally killed. Shekau had been killed last year, now his impostor has also been killed by the Nigerian military. They can raise another Shekau if they like, but they should be rest assured that we will not buy arms directly from the US.

The US should keep their silly advise to themselves. Afterall, they are behind this terrorism thing the world is facing including ebola. I think the law makers are right not to debate the issue, any aggrieved person or group can go to court. If such issues are allowed in the house, then they would be usurping the powers of the court.

Even the US military conduct their regular training exercise within the US, far away from active war zones like the Af-Pak region, Iraq etc.

Well to pilots all flights are training flights in nature esp for military flying. The training referred to isn't ab initio or basic training. Its combat training which could be done in simulated exercises or combat zones, eg the Egyptian mercenaries used the Nigeria civil war as a means of training their pilots for the Arab-Israeli war. Even the US do training in the face of battle.

Pointnoire: Information management,if it was a recce flight then it should be called that in the press briefing,what stage of training do you practice over a hostile theater ? in my own opinion only Pilots who have been checked out at the Air combat training school should be allowed to operate in a hot zone and that means on arrival he is ready to go ,further more flying is not football if you loose you play another day combat flying however needs 110% situation awareness if you loose you're either dead,injured or a Prisoner can you give flight/combat instruction in this situation ? my condolence to the Squadron

Lots of people are really ignorant here, fact is training is continous in the military whether war or peace time. For air operations, u conduct armed recce which are also training flights. Again, the crew do train in combat zones since the ultiamte operations would be executed there. Its like going to the world cup and refuse to train simply because uve trained enough before the tourney. Players would still train even on the match day! The dead pilot is a well trained pilot with exceptional competency that am personally aware of. The crash was as a result of technical reasons from info received from those at the theatre of the hostilities. I pay a glowing tribute to these brave men!

The US is behind this BH thing via CIA covert operations and Al Qaeda with other terrorist groups. Also, some local politicians are partaking in the game.
