The revolutionary war was fought so hard by the confederates because they knew the monetary value of the slaves they kept. When Black Americans say the slaves were the Back bone of the U.S, especially the South, this is what they mean... It's just like how South African apartheid used Black people to mine Diamonds and other resources but the profits of it after being processed and sold never went back into the Black neighborhoods; the fact that the main originator of what made the White neighbourhoods of South Africa wealthy came from Black labour, means that Black South Africans were the actual Backbone of Apartheid South Africa.
Anyway, Post-Slavery: Segregation Era(Jim Crow) (1864-The 1960s), The "Equal" but different period. Black wall street... Almost all Jobs going to Whites... The KKK... The majority Black Lynchings... The all white racist Juries... Black people being relegated to attending very few schools that was always underfunded... The Tuskegee Experiment... The so much as standing up for yourself to a white person got you beaten by a Police officer, even if the White person was objectively in the wrong. And so much more.

Asians rushing from their dilapidated countries to the U.S in the 70s after they saw that the coast had been cleared by the Civil Rights Movement; why do i bring this up?, read about how Banks purposely gave those Asians loans in the "70s to start businesses in Black majority neighborhoods, but would refuse to give a Black American... Asians have also faced much discrimination. It was Chinese people that built the transcontinental road. The US had a law banning Asians from entering the US. The US dropped the mother of all bombs on Japan in Hiroshima and Nagasaki and they put Japanese Americans into internment camps. And don’t get me started with how dirty Uncle Sam’s foreign policy has been in Asia. Look at what Uncle Sam did in the Middle East, South Asia etc. There is still so much Latino and particularly Asian hate in the US. There was an unrest conflict between the Natives of modern day Liberia and the Black Americans that was sent to Liberia, and that's understandable, because it's surprising one day seeing people being dropped by Ships in your land... The American government had advertised Liberia as this oasis they'd set up for the slaves as a way of "going back to your roots", only for a few Black Americans to reach there and discover that there was already Native tribes living in the region, and the place was basically almost a wilderness... Most Black Americans didn't fall for that nonsense given the heavy racist climate they were living in, and knowing the government was most likely lying.
Today, there are just 5% of Liberians who are descended from Black Americans, such a small % in a small populated country that their % is registered among "others" in the country's ethnic Population demography👇...
SECONDLY: We are categorically worse than them; 2nd highest poverty rate in the world, one of the crime rates in the world, one of the highest murder rates in the world... We have no moral backbone to talk trash about Black Americans. When Nigeria gained Independence, it was a Nation of an almost all Black people to thrive together. When the U.S gained Independence, Black Americans went from Slaves for 100 years, to Segregated 2nd class citizens for another 100 years; all through this, they managed to fight and create a think skin for not just the Equal Rights footing of Black people in the U.S, but for all Minorities in the U.S... The problem is Nigeria and essentially any African country is broken beyond repair at this point because of the elite. East Asians mimicked the Western system and look at where they are now. tuzle: I can vouch for him that there are some places in Nigeria that see light once or twice in a week. Early this year, I was at asero abeokuta for a week and throughout my stay, I didn't see nepa light. They are fully dependent on solar because of how bad electricity is. I am not counting midnight light here because most times I slept by 1am and woke up by 5am. Whether they brought the light during the period I was asleep, I don't know.
