RIP, sweet boy! Armed robbers operated at night and probably released bullets, then the bullet that was fired at night killed the boy in daytime. . . Made in Nigeria. |
Make I hear say crime does not pay! |
Uwazuruike will sit somewhere, watching his plasma TV, drinking and eating, while the useless ones go into the streets to sacrifice themselves for a dead, unrealistic cause. For some families, sit-at-home means 'do not eat'. Is that what Biafra is all about? Starvation? I'm Igbo, but I'm anti-Biafra. It's a lost cause! |
I'm proudly Igbo, but Biafra is a pipe-dream. I don't even want it because people like T. A. Orji will still be in power. So, what's the difference? |
Where your wealth is, there your heart will also be. |
In other words, there is no electricity in Nigeria. |
Unless it was translated or edited, the English is a tad higher than what a primary 5 pupil can produce. |
PEREP: Not in all cases. There are people who simply advertise shoes on BB only to go pick it from an aunt or a shop owner when a friend is interested. I also know of people who simply wake up, look around for addresses of houses that are vacant around lagos and propagate it via the social media and get percentage accordingly. This is not to talk of people who copy phone numbers on cars parked for sale and get a buyer while the seller simply pay a percentage. Some pple even start with counseling school pupils after a detailed research on choosing a career via the Internet and get the parents of those kids to pay as low as N500 to attend. You made sense. There is also the issue of humility. |
Hon. Emeka Ihedioha for Imo State governor, 2015. Let's go there! |
surveyProf: You're correct, Spain, Greece, Portugual, etc are facing a deep recession in Europe currently!!!Have we not been in recession in Nigeria since you were born? (No offence meant) |
All these people screaming self-employment seem to forget that you have to start with something. Everyone is not equally blessed. You need money to start anything, no matter how little. Our youths are hardworking, but the government is not supportive. |
RIP. Our parents say their university days were better than ours. I shudder when I think that my kids may face a worse system. I mean, what could be worse than what we see today? |
Good for them! While they are at it, they should also deal with the gun-totting, blood-thirsty, prosthetic-brained teenage psychos in America pulling the trigger on anyone just for the hell of it. |
Nice work, my brother. Keep it up! |
Nice wheels, but I'd fix that floor with inter-locking bricks before I order those cars. |
This kain news on a Sunday like this. Hmmm! |
It's not in my habit, even at home. I see nothing wrong with it, though. |
Failure and rejection. |
Great work. I hope the purpose of this thread is not abused. |
Do they have a governor in Ebonyi State? I usually hear about that state when they have communal clashes. |
Sweetie, you are lucky to be alive to type this. That alone quashes the theme of your post. Have you ever thought that things may have been different (negatively) for you if some things you wished for came to pass? People buy cars, for instance, and then they die through accidents? Most times, the desirable may not be the divine, and vice versa. In the Bible, I think it was Ahab (not sure) who asked God for extra years when he was to die. God did it, but Ahab lived to regret it. Had he died then, he would have been with God. My dear, just believe that things happen that way because YOU ARE DIFFERENT AND NOT SEPARATE. GOODLUCK! |
I hope that boy don't join Illuminati. |
rhymz: Well, this is purely subjective to individual opinion and not a statement of fact! But the Fact there is that one of the two writers' work is more celebrated, has more influence, has inspired more readership and has won more awards than the other, that to me is the true measure of who is a better writer, at least, the process is not subjected to the elitist opinion of an "elitist few" or the "litrary initiated" like you said Wole likes to put it, how the work does outside the confines of its litrary comfort zone is a way better and more thorough process of scrutiny, dont you think? You have a valid point. |
Chimamanda is 'my sister' and Zadie Smith is a British writer. I love Chimamanda's works, but Zadie Smith is in a class of her own; an effortless and ''pre-naturally gifted writer''. Adichie has more awards than Zadie Smith, but it doesn't make her better than Zadie Smith. Zadie Smith's White Teeth is one of the most arresting books I've read. So, don't start fighting over writers, they are not your regular politicians. |
The post is educating, just that the puerile comments are characteristic of people who do not appreciate literature. I'm an Igbo, but I know enough not to hurl tribal peebles all over the place. WS and CA are like twin gods to me, though their style differs. CA uses the simple style because he writes with the common people in mind. WS, on the other hand, uses what we call the Grand Style in Stylistics. This is because, as he is widely-known to posit, literature should not be for the uninitiated. That said, I believe that Achebe and Soyinka would be ashamed of those who trade insults on their behalf. |
ifyalways: oh chim.Ify, the false alarm part wasn't for you, ihotago? Ama m udi mmadu ibu. It was for those who think I'm lying. |
ndidianthony247: How did d poster knew its been 2years? Guy I dey suspect u ooooooIs it a crime to live in any part of Nigeria for more than two years? |

The car has the sticker of an Owerri-based organization on the rear windscreen. I will confirm what's on the sticker when I go back to school next Monday. |
Drop the e-mail of a good news agency and I'll send them the location. |
