Ngozi123: Lmao. L-M-A-O. I can't even take your post seriously. I mean, how can you even have the audacity to call someone else ignorant when you come out with something like this? Do some research on the internet if you want to know why Halloween is really celebrated.
Anyway, I'm in a good mood so I won't insult you today. Goodnight.
Btw, my point still stands about it being an insult to the ancient Yoruba religion. I have no problem with Black Americans discovering their 'roots' but I do have a problem with people, black or otherwise, making jest out of African culture. It's not something that you play with. Can you see why I was a lil hard on you? You seem intelligent but you easily jump at incorrect conclusion. Telling me to research on Halloween. I surely knows Halloween means All Hallows evening that likely originated from pagan celtic tradition. But unlike what its origin stand for, people in western world these days celebrate it by wearing their customs and show off their creativity with scary stuff while having fun all the way, while kids go around in the neighborhood trick or treating with the hope of getting candies. You know what?, you can never understand since you haven't been to a western country before . Now to Acehood wearing a Sango custom. Unlike you, he was brought up trick or treating since he was young and believe in Halloween festivity. But instead of wearing a European god custom like Thor, Vulcan or Apollo, we decided to wear a custom of an African god. Now tell me how is that making jest of African culture? |

ArabMopol: what of Oduduwa the right hand of Satan thrown down from heaven by angel Michael and Raphael , It's beyond your mental capacity to understand that there is what's called mythology in every civilization. From Roman, to Greek, to Assyrian, to Egyptian, to Yoruba etc. But if you're still lost on mythology of Yoruba civilization. Read from the link below Osu https://www.google.ca/amp/s/africanspiritualitynow./2013/05/13/oduduwa/amp/ |

ArabMopol: ... mumu I thought you said slave trade only happened in Igbo land... War and slave raiding were complementary exercises among the Yoruba, who needed capital to buy the firearms with which they fought in a vicious cycle of war and enslavement. work leaders were well aware of the connection between guns and enslavement... Yoruba's sold out their sons and daughters in to slavery just to get more arm to engage in long tribal wars... Slavery happened to all tribes in West Africa, but Osu caste system only happened in Igboland Do you get my point now Osu?

ArabMopol: The Yoruba people, among the most heavily targeted, contributed significant cultural and economic influence upon the Atlantic slave trade during its run from approximately 1400 until 1900 CE, [8:40 PM]: the prospects of Trans Atlantic Slave Trade fueled into tribal wars in Yorubaland as the rulers and slaves who had taken part of the European slave merchants' offer, went all out to wage war on the other towns and villages with the sole aim of getting slaves to be exchanged for wine and guns."" [8:42 PM]: most slaves in the nineteenth century were a product of the Yoruba civil wars that followed the collapse of Oyo in the 1820s.... descendant of Oduduwa the diabolic falling devil I know you're trying to score some points, but don't forget Arochukwu and enslavement of millions of Igbos as explained in this article Osu "From the 17th through 19th centuries, the Aro extended the religious and judicial infuence of Chukwu by establishing oracular shrines of Ibin Ukpabi in many villages and towns in Igboland. They also established trading posts and slaveholding quarters in many towns and villages in the Aro Diaspora. Hence, there is a direct link between Aro quarters or concentric communities in Igboland and the busiest slave trading locations in the Igbo hinterland" Guess what Aro people are not even Igbo descendants. But they enslaved millions of Igbos and sold them off through Ibinu Ukpani (long juju) |

Ngozi123: Are you really happy that some ignorant rapper and his girlfriend are going around making a mockery of the ancient Yoruba religion and culture? Playing 'dress up' in a supposed cultural dress is not akin to appreciating that culture. You're the most ignorant entity I have seen on Nairaland. Do you think Acehood saw the dressing in his dream? He probably read about Sango and Yoruba mythology, and instead of dressing in Thor or Superman, he decided to dress in an African god showing African rich culture. Just for your ignorant doltish brain to know, Halloween is celebrated here to show off custom you like and feel happy. Additional material for you blind bat to read. Go to google and search for Kwanzaa. Many black Americans are awakened to their root and they celebrate it every single day |

GodIsFoolish: You have no point with your picture,
The Name was gotten from the Bight of Biafra, have you heard of the old EASTERN REGION OF NIGERIA? We were one, it's because of the Biafran war the Nigeria govt separated us and and even change the Bight of Biafra to Bight of Bonny, doing all they can to make Biafra forgotten
I know you're an Afonja, I don't have your time How are you one with Efik, Ibibio, Kalabari, Ijaw, Uhrobo, Itshekiri, Anang, Oron, Ogoni etc. It's quite unfortunate that these tribes has to deal with Igbos bullshiit when they are under Eastern Nigeria, and got dragged into civil war they never wanted through Ojukwu's selfish agenda NB: Being an Afonja is million times better than being an Osu |

GodIsFoolish: Keep deluding yourself, for your stup!d mind now Igbos or Igbo states are not parts of Niger-Delta
I know you're not from ND so FUCKKKKK OFF The Niger Delta, and the "South South Zone", which includes Akwa Ibom State, Bayelsa State, Cross River State, Delta State, Edo State and Rivers State are two different entities. While the Niger Delta is the oil-producing region the Nigerian South South is a geo-political zone. The Niger Delta separates the Bight of Benin from the Bight of Biafra within the larger Gulf of Guinea. Dolt! did you see any Alaigbo in the aforementioned states? |

Lagos is the worst city that I have been to in my life. Useless and hopeless place. Even cotonou beat Lagos hands down. Not to talk of Accra, Gambia, Dakar, Johannesburg, Cape Town, Seychelles, Cape Verde, Tunis, Algiers, Morocco. Haba, even in Africa, Lagos is the worst city that exists. Been to Asia. Hong Kong, shanghai, Tokyo, Taiwan, Seoul. Many many others. Not to talk of Europe. So much for a guy that has been to over 50 cities but doesn't know that Gambia, Morocco and Taiwan are not cities |

This nonsense should stop already I'm very surprised that the government of that state has not passed any law to stop this madness after documentaries and countless evidences show that people are committing aggravated assault and murder against innocent kids Why is the community not interrogating the wife (the boy's stepmom)? She should be the first suspect if foul play is suspected. Afterall, she is the one sleeping with the man and cooking for him. Rather they will point accusing fingers at vulnerable and defenseless kids. Israel Effiong, I'm very optimistic that you'll be great. You made it boy! You made it!! This is one boy that if nurtured and cared for properly, he can become a doctor, lawyer or anything he wanna be. The boy survival instinct is outstanding. Living in the bush by himself for 365 days without basic amenities, that boy is a genius. I'm very sure 90% of all these social media adults can't even survive in such bush for a week. NB: I'm writing an email to Akwa Ibom government to pass bill against this child abuse, and I'm urging well meaning nairalanders that are tired of seeing this kinna story to do same
This is Akwa Ibom state government email I'm able to get online info@akwaibomstate.gov.ng And this is the link to the state government contact https://www.akwaibomstate.gov.ng/contact |
