PoliticsRe: INTERVIEW: Why We Killed Ironsi And Installed Gowon — Rtd Gen. Jeremiah Useni by softwareman(m): 5:14pm On Sep 29, 2013
slimghost: well, I will ask you to get Ademoyaga's book yourself and read. Only then would you see the lies and deceitts in katsumoto's copy and paste thrash. Thank God Ademoyega is not an igboman. He clearly stated their reasons for the coup and why it failed. He laid the bulk of the blames on Ifeajuna and Major Don Okafor, the same thing I wrote earlier on.
Except you read a diffrent book from the why we struck I read. My conclusion was that ifeajuna and okafor etc used nzeogwu and ademoyega to surreptitiously carry out a igbo coup.
PoliticsRe: INTERVIEW: Why We Killed Ironsi And Installed Gowon — Rtd Gen. Jeremiah Useni by softwareman(m): 5:02pm On Sep 29, 2013
Katsumoto: And why would anyone with a brain believe the excuses Ifeajuna gave for not killing Okpara?

If Ifeajuna had no qualms killing Largema in a hotel or shooting his boss and mentor, Maimalari, dead in the middle of the night and on the street, why should he care about the presence of an ArchBishop?

I ask again, why was a Lieutenant sent to arrest Okpara and not a unit of similar force as those sent to Akintola and Bello? Why the need for Ifeajuna to go and complete a task that was assigned already?
Furthermore, why did they refuse to give the assignment of arresting nronsi to ademoyega even when he pleaded for it? Why was ironsi informed about the coup before hand?
Why was shodeinde and the other yoruba brigadier slaughter ed even when they were not resisting arrest?
The answer is simple. The igbo officers wanted to establish an igbo domination of the army and the country.
It is very obzvious fact that only IGBOS will argue.

Jonathan and his army of NAIRALAND supporters mostly from south east are evermore delusional than I thought if they think anyof those politicians listed can deliver any substantial votes for Jonathan come 2015. Indeed for any south west politician, association with Jonathan will be the kiss of death. The southwest is virulently not on Jonathan's side. This should obvious to any one interested in the truth.
One interesting note
in a discussion on the prospects of Jonathan's Chances in the sw, is it not remarkable that jonathanians from outside of the SW are the ones making most of the projections for south west.erners? Apparently they understand south west politics more than we do!
You are suffering from myopism, if only you could look beyond your preconditioned mindset and did a little research; you could easily have noticed that the real cause of present day instability in those countries are due to tinkering by Christian dominated world super powers, trying to force down their own interests and values in those countries - let me give you a clue, google the term NEW WORLD ORDER, check those behind it and their motives.
I suppose the christian dominated world instigated the Arab spring and the crisis between the muslim brotherhood and the rest of the Egyptian population. Did they?

Let's call a spade a spade. Fundamental ism and fanaticism is at war with both muslims and Christians alike. Until real muslims see these lunatics for what they really are , all will continue to pay the price.

Do you honestly believe that the jet oritsejafor bought was the contribution s of his church members in warri?

Does oritsejafor's actions and utterances as CAN president not being an embarassment to you as a chrisitia n?

Has there ever being a more divisive and politically partisan CAN president in the history of the esteemed association of all Christians?

Let us admit it, el-rufai only voiced the truth we all know and there is no need trying to defend the indefensible.

I have a simple solution to jonathan's problem.let us eliminate opposition from our democracy.-at least for the duration of Jonathan's tenure. Opposition detracts him.
It makes him lose his focus.
LOL. This president is completely confused!

You said its only olorunsogo and sapele but

1) Geregu 11 has been completed

2) Omotosho has been completed

Please cross check your facts from the Niger delta holding web site. Even they cannot make that kind of wild assertion.
PoliticsRe: Jonathan To Detractors: Allow Me To Do My Job by softwareman(m): 2:52pm On Sep 23, 2013
awodman: For the fact that the NIPP plants are been put up for sale means that the projects exist and are near completion...No investor will bid for an imaginary project..so the promise of 10,000MW is not a mirage...

Can u help substantiate or your claim that tales of cronism trailed the privatization exercise
of all the NIPP(now niger delta holding company) plants only sapele and olorunsogo stands a good chance of being commisioned before 2015(there is no guarantee that it will even be available to the national grid) Most of the others are at mostly 20% completion stage.

The truth is that even if olorunsogo(750MW) and sapele (450mv) come on stream , there is no transmission capacity to handle it as most transmission expansion projects are still at mostly 20% completion.

The truth is that they themselves know that the promise of 10,000mw is a fraud, they only make these promises because they know no one believe them any longer. The people that cannot sustain generation of 3600MV from installed capacity without constantly experiencing system failure anytime they get close to 3500MW are promising 10,000 when the system does not even have the transmission capacity for 5000MW.

secondly,What other substantiation do you need that cronyism trailed the entire award when rockson engineering(odili and arik) was awarded more than 65% of the expected capacity and has only built less than 20% of their own expected capacity eight years into the project. Why was the project not awarded directly to reputable international power companies like mitsubishi and siemens.

Jonathan is either being deceived or he is deceiving the people. if he is so sure he can deliver 10,000 or even less to the national grid by 2015, let him stake his 2015 ambition on it. of course he will not.
PoliticsRe: Buhari, Tinubu Attend Manchester Event by softwareman(m): 7:49am On Sep 23, 2013
Billyonaire: While wishing Tinubu a quick recovery, he should learn a lesson from a knee cap injury he had decades ago as a school boy which resurfaced and know that his problems of fraud in the past can still resurface and cripple him. He should dissociate from all forms of treachery and turn a new leaf.

He has been given a second chance. He should feel ashamed lying like a little rat in a foreign hospital instead of the land of his birth, there he is with a rot called Buhari who ran this country as a dictator without building a single clinic but depriving GEJ of focus to revamp Nigeria.

Tinubu, please, your brain is in your head, locate it and use it.
Please what is the point of your post? I am trying to understand the valid point you are trying to make here. Do you wish that he changes and becomes a PDP member or he supports jonathan ? You exposed your ignorance when you allege that it is the opposition that is depriving Jonathan of focus. Opposition is Integral to every democracy.
Jonathan is distracted because he is incompetent, confused and unprepared.
PoliticsRe: Buhari, Tinubu Attend Manchester Event by softwareman(m): 7:38am On Sep 23, 2013
Shine It: If Tinubu is indeed hale and hearty while is he not in Nigeria proving his doubters wrong. How long does knee surgery take to heal?

Why is every one who wants to see Tinubu travelling to London instead of Tinubu's house in Lagos?

Am sure Buhari wanted to see for himself how advanced Tinubu's parkinson's disease is, that's why Buhari is sad in the picture.
Tinubu does not have to prove anything to you or any one for that matter. He is a former governor of a state and is free to live his life as he pleases. What is interesting to me is how come you people from the east are so obsessive about tinubu, who as write this does not currently hold any public office in this country . You guys were shamelessly gloating when you were circulating the wicked rumour that he is terminally ill and now that your evil wish is being exposed the utter incoherence and senselessness of your post signpost the frustration of all haters like you.

I am glad that the asiwaju is hale and hearty because if there is one political strategist in this country today that can deal with PDP nationally, jagaban is the man. He gave them a permanent bloody nose in the south west and that is why PDP goons wish him dead..
PoliticsRe: Why Jonathan Fired Emordi, Olagunju by softwareman(m): 9:11am On Sep 21, 2013
Sincere 9gerian: Save those confessions for the dogs. No one cares where you stood yesterday. What matters is what you stand for today.

If you ask me, your position now lacks objectivity. You'r overly sentimental and emotional.

If truely you supported GEJ in early 2011 or 2010, what changed between then and late 2011 (or whenever you changed your mind) when you changed position to become one of fiercest critics? Did his nose suddenly grow longer or what? I'm sure if we ask you why you now hate or oppose him, all you'll do will be to reel out falsehood and half-truths.

No human being is perfect but this president has done far more than his predecessors.

Even the free and fair elections alone surpases ANY achievement by ANY regime in the history of Nigeria. It has multiplier effect and it is the NUMBER ONE dividend of democracy, which Nigerians never knew since independence.

In case you dont know, the achievements of your southwest governors which you celebrate on NL have its root, partly, in the free and fair election policy. It is no longer 'baba so pe' (godfather said) that determines who is elected. It is now largely PERFORMANCE.

Consequently, while in the past all we saw was 90% politics and less than 10% governance, what we now see is atleast 60% governance and less than 40% politics. Politicians now compete for TV air time to show case their achievements. That was not happening in the past. We now have pre-election debates (or atleast it is now taken more seriously) unlike before. Furthermore, free and fair elections gives the people sense of belonging and psychological satisfaction. The people of Imo will feel good that they elected Rochas and that he was not imposed by forces from Abuja or United Nations. Same for Oshiomole and other governors elected under this current dispensation. People have the right to elect either a good man or criminal to govern them. That right should not be taken away under any guise.

At moment, NONE of the governors (including those posturing themselves as "progressives" or potential candidates for the presidency) have had the courage of replicating this culture of free and fair elections at the local council polls. That is SAD and it should be a source of worry for everyone of us, including you.
Every time I read your many posts defending Jonathan, I always can not help shaking my head vigorously. Honestly, if you are actually being paid to do this, if I was Jonathan, I will sack you because you always do a lousy job.

To start with my contribution was focused on Jonathan's leadership and managerial style and I used the topic of the thread as one example from several to underscore the fact that jonathan flaw is very fundamental and deep. Instead of addressing the points I raised you went on wild goose chase of irrelevance and incoherence.

Read again. The reason Jonathan lost me was clearly stated in my post. The quality of a president achievement depends on his leadership and managerial style . That is where everything else derives from.

PoliticsRe: Why Jonathan Fired Emordi, Olagunju by softwareman(m): 8:06am On Sep 21, 2013
Sincere 9gerian: Emordi did her best within the circumstance. She was neither responsible for the defeat of the PDP candidate for the position of speaker of house of reps nor in the creation of the illegal newPDP. There are interest on all sides and most of these interests CANNOT even be bought with money. For instance, who can out-spend the Amaechi in the ongoing battle? A northerner, may win one or two more disciples, but overall may not fair any better in that position under the same circumstance.

More like the far north are using blackmail, terror and dirty politics to win back many positions in govt, hitherto occupied by people from other parts of the country. They have since cornered the position of National Security Adviser because of Boko Haram. But even after they got that position, not much changed on ground. Boko Haram continued doing their thing.

Emordi may have been sacrificed so as to bring in someone that will not only perform what she currently does in the NASS but also bring to the table some political influence in his home state. More like killing two birds with one stone.

The Vanguard report this time is nothing but beer parlour gossips. I could have done a better job for them in analysing the situation.

Note: Emordi joined the GEJ govt through APGA, on the back of APGA support for GEJ in 2011 elections. Although she later defected back to PDP (she was formerly in PDP before she moved to APGA). So I dont know what she'll do next now.
Your analysis only goes to validate what most people already know about jonathan 's leadership style. If according to you, his policy of always placating the north is not working and even counter productive, why then does he keep doing it? What kind of a leader sacrifices a loyal hardworking subordinate for selfish political goals.

It is this kind of indecisiveness , weakness and desperation that cheapens Jonathan before friends and foe alike. As it stands, most people around Jonathan are manipulating him for their own selfish agenda.
He has lost the respect his office deserves because everybody can see that he is indecisive and can easily be swayed from a particular line of action as it is always clear he does not carry the conviction of his action.

Jonathan's flaw to me is very fundamental that I know he is not the kind of leader the country needs at this time. If will be sincere, you will see that he already lost control of his wife, his party and the country.

Lastly, I want to confess something to you, you might not believe me, but I use to be an ardent Jonathan supporter. I voted for him in 2011 even though I hate PDP with a passion. I am not opposing him because of his tribe or region.

Jonathan lost me when I saw his leadership and management style will lead to disaster eventually for all concerned. I pray he changes if he can.

abagoro: I don't think Roads are actually the true yardstick for measuring performance. Taking pictures of bad roads will only prove that there are lots of bad roads in Anambra but it does not give information on other sectors. Anambra as a State needs improvement in aesthetics and that's the part I've kept criticizing Peter Obi on. Its not all about money but beauty and good life is important as well.
Some of us not from anambra state, can we offer a simple suggestion to enhance the quality of the debate you anambrarians are having?
why not those of you interested in countering the argument of the OP simply upload pictures of the things peter obi has done.

The truth of the matter is that the pictures of Obi's achievements uploaded so far are not impressive at all. The quality of work on some of the buildings and roads are, to say the least, below standard.
