Good News!!!! My daughter just called to say, "Visa Approved." She'll later find a way to post her transcript.
Miami University, Oxford, Ohio, Creative Writing. She said it was a friendly chat and is wondering whether it'll sound like a 'normal' transcript.
God bless all of you for answering my numerous questions! Good luck to everyone.
Congrat to her

Has anyone who had their interview on 30th October received passport collection mail?
TravelRe: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 15 by solastar2: 11:59am On Nov 05, 2020

Guys my passport is ready for pickup and I chose Isolo as my pickup point. But I remember others have mentioned (here on the thread) that the consulate in VI is the only point of pickup in Lagos for now.

I am not sure where to go, Isolo or VI?

Do I reach out to DHL or the consulate?

If you have had a similar challenge, who did you contact? Can you kindly share the contact detail you use?

Thank you.
Please, when was your interview?

Good day Erudite Scholars!

I want to know if printed I-20 can be used (is and valid) at the Port of Entry.

Also, I need to get connected to Nigerians presently studying at The University of Toledo, Ohio, US.

Thank you as I await your kind and honest response.
Please, please and please don't even try printed I-20 @ POE. It is better to avoid stories that touch. Order your I-20 from school.

Hey everyone.

Good evening all. I applied to University of Boston but did not send my documents, i wanted to differ till fall 2021.

But they kept sending me emails about sending my Transcript. Now i want to send it and start this Spring. My school starts January 2nd 2021.

My question now is:

Can i send My Transcript, get an admission decision, book an F1 visa interview and get an Interview appointment all in December (ie Like between December 5th and 30th)?
My school starts January 2nd?

I pushed it to December so i can work on my Finance.

I seriously need an expert opinion. I like to start school immediately.

Thanks and God bless everyone.
I doubt if this is possible.

Hi guys.
I plan to use my friend in Michigan as my contact person where I will quarantine for 14days and then travel to Virginia where my school is.

Now does it matter that Michigan is 9hrs away by road and 1hr by flight?

Or should I look for someone closer to Virginia
I dont think that's advisable. Why not stick to the school official.

Fairheart, do you know any platform I can tender my GRE result to get some financial support? The NYSC fund I dey use is not enough, since it only drop monthly and I am trying to go for PhD which mostly close by December. Application fee and TOEFl are real financial burden for me now and I will like to know if there are ways I can make this dream of mine come true.
But to sincere, u need to get someone who will sponsor you in this journey or some level of finance. There is no way you spend money. You cant begin this journey on seeking for finance help (in my opinion).

I am interested in illinois because of their low/lesser standard of living and tuition fee, as for the UG here in Nigeria it's the crawling of our academics and uncertain calendar. Thanks as I look forward to more advices.
I dont think this is a good point. If you want low/lesser standard of living, you will rather remain in Nigeria. Probably, you want to talk about the cost of living.

From my guess, I think they were just 30 slots per day. When I chose my date, I saw 7:00am (9) which indicated 9 slots left. When I booked and got the appointment pdf, I saw 7:00am (22) which I feel the 22 indicated I was the 22nd person to book that day slot.

Note: all these are assumptions.
Like you said, it is an assumption. When I booked I saw 21 slots left for 30th October and I got number 11. I could be that some people submitted while I was trying to submit or it could be above 30.

Your school used SEVIS-designated term for your program. It's not always the term used by your school. "Engineering, General" is the available term in the SEVIS system, and under which "Chemical Engineering sit. Fill in the DSFORM the program you're admitted for: Chemical Engineering. During the interview, give your response around Chemical Engineering, the Consular will understand.
Thanks

I’m guessing your school is ULL. Did they put Chemical engineering on the I-20?
If the concentration is mentioned on the I-20, you might be safe to put Chemical engineering. You can ask others for their opinion though.
Chemical Engineering was not stated on it. It is not ULL but University of Arkansas.

Hello all, I need your opinion. In my form I-20, my major was written as "Engineering, General" instead of Chemical Engineering. What do you think is advisable for me to write in my form DS160? Engineering or Chemical Engineering

How did you depart Nigeria to the USA?
I finished my registration from here only to realize my courses are online, I don't know how CBP are to people entering the USA just to do online courses. Is it safe for me to travel with my courses completely online, I already have my student visa.
My school also has available in person classes which am trying to get at least one so I can travel.
I will appreciate responses to anyone that has answers to this questions.
How are you guys getting the Student Visa?

I don't think India has even opened their international borders yet but the embassy opened.

This might be a good news for those that are still interested in going this fall.
Fall is gone. I think Indian airspace is open and it could be for few countries for now. But I read a write up and entering from US is allowed.

No need to attach WAASCE result, just send your examination number and the detail of your card. With that, the authenticity test can start from there.

We don’t need to see who is the foolish one here. The Nigerian embassy can post whatever they want. The president decides what happens. Trump decides when the embassy opens and which one opens.

This is not democrat rule, this is Trump’s America. He doesn’t freaking care about you wimps.

The fact that you think you matter is laughable. Even citizens willing to bring their husbands to the country were suspended from such.

https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.nytimes.com/2020/07/07/us/student-visas-coronavirus.amp.html

Trump doesn’t fucking care about you. If the school doesn’t go in-class, you are going to them embassy to receive your rejection letter.

Keep fanning your emotions. There is no US for you this 2020. I’ll be back to remind you. The earlier you accept it the better for your emotions.
This guy is just typing Thrash. Even the link he shared didn't convey any of the nonsense he kept saying. I think this thread is derailing from the good old days with someone like this. Maybe Twood and co should reply us than this clown. Twood always give factual statement but I dont know where this person is seeing the thrash he is telling us. I'm glad you are not in charge of embassy opening and whether they like, they should open embassy and if they dont like they should not open it we will not die. Maybe you should contest for the next US president since it is your country now and cancel F1 outrightly because that's what every statement of yours portray. With people like this, I think it is time to start looking away from this thread after many years.

I just requested for a deferral to fall 2021. Waiting for response from the school.
All the best but I would have advise you to wait for the opinion of your GC or advisor before requesting for it. I was in your shoe and I was advised to hold for some time by senior colleagues in the state. Last week, I got a mail from GC that they are recommending that international student should defer. With that my mind was at peace at least it was their opinion and not mine.
