Your sevis fee is valid for 365days. If you paid on November 27th 2020. It expires on October 27th 2021. Just count it that way Nob 27th to October 27th is not 365 days. It is from Nov 27th to Nov 26th. |

This is the worst transcript I have ever seen be it on nairaland, Facebook or quora. It is better you delete the whole thing. Just leave visa approved. BabsofAbj247: Visa approved.
VO: What school are you going to? Me: Stated the name of my school VO: How many schools did you apply to? Me: Told him the schools I applied to VO: What program are you going for? Me: Stated my program (Masters) VO: What do you intend to use the program for? Me: Upon the completion of my program, I intend to come back to Nigeria to focus on at my company. In addition, I intend to use the knowledge obtained from my masters to improve my start-up. VO: What do you do currently? Me: Explained in detail the nature of my job and the companies I have worked with VO: Wow VO: How do you intend to fund the program, I can see you got some scholarship? Me: I would be using my savings and MPOWER. In addition, my uncle would provide financial assistance. VO: What does your uncle do: Me: Told VO the companies my uncle own VO: I would be approving your VISA blah blah blah
It is very important to know what you have on your DS-160 form. While I was talking about the things I do for my Company, the VO kept looking at the screen to verify what I said.
I hope this helps. Good luck.

Me: Good morning
VO (Huge white lady): Good morning, place your fingers there for me.
Me: Alright.
VO: Pass me your i-20, passport and DS-160.
Me: Here they are. Please, I stutter, if you would be so kind to me patient with me.
VO: Of course (she had time, I was the last person she was to attend to) So, I see you are going to the University of Arkansas for your masters.
Me: Yes, masters in Mechanical Engineering.
VO: Alright, what did you study in your undergrad?
Me: Same Mechanical Engineering, here in Nigeria.
VO: Alright. What will this program for your you?

VO: cuts in...will you be going back to your previous job?
Me: Yes.
VO: Did you have a talk with them you will be returning to the company after your studies?
Me: Yes, my supervisor especially was in full support, he even paid for my Visa fee to show his support.
VO: Alright. Will you be returning to the same position?
Me: Of course not, a more challenging and managerial position.
VO: Pointing at my i-20, who is *****?....
Me: He is my older brother.
VO: Where does he live?
Me: ******, here in Nigeria.
VO: Starts typing furiously.... alright, I will be granting you this visa, you will get your passport after.. blah blah... COVID-19 blah blah.... She was just speaking so fast, I couldn't even comprehend anymore.
Me: Thank you.
Know what you filled in your DS-160, look them straight in the eye, even though you stutter or cannot speak fluently. God that did mine will do yours for you. Thank you once again. 2 Likes |

V.O: (typing for a while) You are going to the university of Alabama for a PhD degree in chemical engineering
Me: Yes sir
V.O: (After checking my I-20) have you paid your SEVIS
Me: Yes sir.
V.O: How did you hear about the school
Me: I saw a publication on LinkedIn by Dr xxxx, an associated professor of the school. I was fascinated by the research because not only does it align with my interest, it also speak of the quality of researches going on in the lab. So I research about the school on google and got a link to the school website where I check through the department page. I then added the school to the list of the schools I wanted to apply to
V.O: Do you have a background in chemical engineering
Me: Yes sir, my first degree was in chemical engineering from OAU
V.O: what will the degree do for you?
Me: The degree will equip me with the technical, professional and research skill needed for a career in academic because I planned to come back to Nigeria to take up a lecturing role with Babcock University where I currently work. It will also enable me to set up my lab to continue my research which I want to aim at solving clinical, environmental and energy problem in Nigeria
V.O: what do you do at babcock
Me: I worked as a tutor in one of her high school.
V.O: High School?

I believe the VO asked you about your family and you promise they will join you later. Only for them to show up at the embassy before you even travel. Tshendy: Good evening everybody,
My wife F2 visa was denied today at US consulate in lagos. The following was what transpired between her and the VO.
VO: Good morning and pass your document
Wife: Good morning sir (she passed the document)
VO: I can see you are going to join your husband at the university of Alabama, Tuscaloosa.
Wife: Yes sir
VO: when did he leave the country
Wife: he will be leaving on the 1st of august, 2021 as his program starts by august 11
VO: So your business is tommyshendy. Tell me about it
Wife: yes sir. Itbis a registered fashion business that deals with production and sales of different types of female clothes. We also train people on clothes making.
VO: How come your husband never talked about this
Wife: He didnt talk about it because the business in mine and there is no where is the DS-160 form where one is required to fill spouse occupation. He was not also asked during his interview
VO: So why didn't you apply together
Wife: I initially planned to join him at the later time after he would have gone but after thinking about the benefit of going with him, we both agreed to go together. We feel going together will give emotional stability to concentrate on his studies, it will reduce the number of time he might want to be spending on phone with me been his wife and thereby giving him more time for his research. Going with him will also reduce his expenses and that he will also enable us to focus on our marriage been a young marriage
VO: how do you think it will reduce his expenses
Wife: I believe he won't have to pay for his accommodation in the US and be paying for mine in Nigeria. Cooking a single meal that we will eat together will also reduce expenses on groceries.
VO: What is your husband plan after his studies
Wife: His plan is to cone back to Nigeria to take up a lecturing role at Babcock university where he currently work
VO: when did you get married
Wife: March 28th, 2020.
VO: I am sorry, you do not qualify for a VISA this time around.
Please we don't know what went wrong. She is planning to reapply. Please any advice for us will be appreciated. Thanks 1 Like |

Is anything wrong with someone sponsoring a high school teacher? I doubt. Also, being a high school teacher is not bad. People with no job are securing visa. If his father can not spend on him, then who will? Mayokunudo: Number 1 you are a high school teacher, why will your dad want to sponsor an high school teacher?? Why will he want to spend to much on a high school teacher?? When you finish your masters degree will you still be a teacher?? Number 2 I think your Dads business is not really a business the vo thinks can sponsor you. Most times the it is good to package your self before you go for an interview. I felt your graduate assistantship would have helped you get the visa but you sounded like an intending immigrant. 8 Likes |

Have being in contact with him already so as to volunteer and he assured me of a research assistant as he is expecting a grand from university of Arkansas medical school for fall semester 2021. Vo:- What's the research again? Me:- Single molecules spectroscopy of nanomaterials and biomolecules. Vo:- ohhh... What is it about? Fabuloski: Good day bosses, I know the discussion going on now is about interview. I hope I get a response for this though.
So little story, I am a graduate of Industrial Chemistry (B.Tech 4.05, GRE: 324;3.5), currently serving, I am looking to apply to 2 or 3 Chemical Engineering program and I am having difficulty finding a safe school to pitch my application since I don't have an Engineering background. Please can the experts in the house help out with a suggestion?
By the way, all the program I am gunning for is a Ph.D. plus for my GRE, my Quant is 166 and during my undergraduate, I did 5 mathematics courses and I had distinction in all. From what I noticed this year, funded Chemistry admission is easier to secure than Chemical Engineering. Also, the number of schools offering MSc and PhD in Chemistry is more than that of Chemical Engineering. It is better you stick to Chemistry at least for now. It seems to be easier pathway right now. My opinion though |
