mimilyrics: No, you can't because that's the limit that your visa allows you to. All voluntary and paid work shouldn't exceed 20hours during term-time as this is grounds for visa curtailment or issues when a new visa is required. It is a criminal offence. it's okay then |

izyblaze: If you know that you’re doing more than 20hrs weekly, please I beg of you, stopeeeeeet!!!!! Especially with your NI, two of my friends just landed in Nigeria now, Post study work visa denied. Not just that, immigration literally came to front of their doors to serve the papers and marched them to the airport. Free flight, I’m shaking right now. If you have ears, listen. That is strange, may be there is more to their case, once you have 100% attendance at lectures i don't think whatever you do with your spare time should be counted towards going against immigration rule's. |

Toplap: Herein lies your problem! Even when your moniker is not mentioned or directly asked a question, you still jump in with the attitude.
No, you are not always courteous. I have seen it for myself in how you interacted with bfn1 and Aieromon. Why do you think they ignored your first mentions of them?
No one on this thread has maligned you. As far as I know your attention was called to posts made by other users, to show that your perception and the reality about the enrolment slip is different. How is that malignant? What do I call your comment that lead to this if not malignment, you do not need to go there are reawakened a dead topic since those guys have choosed to go silent, you should have let it go and allow the public to run with whatever they read here. You coming here to stir up the hornet nest means i won't be courteous with comment like yours. Your problem with the bolded is that you think people are in competition here,i am sorry to say that i am not in competition with anyone, i only genuinely give back to what has improved my knowledge of things and if you have a problem with that i don't have an apology. Toplap: You were too much in people's faces with the whole enrolment slip thing. You said your piece once, you should have left it at that.
But jumping into almost every conversation and posts directed at other people (not you) was quite frankly becoming annoying and one post in particular which you directed @ Aieromon had a rude and I too know tone to it.
You can be helpful without the overbearing attitude, you only succeed in getting on people's nerves with that attitude. Why do you think bfn1's last response to you has 6 likes? Abeg rest You can easily glide over whatever you do not agreed with,if anyone mentioned my moniker and i think it's worthwhile replying to,why won't i? No one get paid for his/her contribution here,we are only trying to give back to where we have all benefited from,if i then tell the truth to people and tell them to insist on those things at the point of capturing anything wrong in that? I am always courteous in my dealing but if anyone trying to malign me either directly or subtly i won't let it slide, reason for whatever cheeky reply i give to people |

chioma134: This post was triggered by an earlier post I saw where the poster was having long talks with his friend's wife. I've been in a similar situation. I changed location and had to be separate from my family due to work. I was lonely and needed a friend. I talk with my husband regularly, but his interests are not my interests, so I find that besides household and family matters, we have little else to talk about. I found myself talking to this guy I met when I went for an official assignment. We started as friends, but we became attracted to each other. So when I travelled back to base, we started these long conversations. We're both born-again Christians and both married, so we kept to certain boundaries. I enjoyed conversing with him more than with my spouse. I became consumed with thoughts of him. He also expressed his desire and attraction towards me, but we laughed over it as jokes.
My husband noticed the conversations when I travelled home and became suspicious. He forbade me from speaking with him. He had never seen me have long talks with any friend, talkless of a male one. I informed my friend and he said no problem, he would wait till I travelled back to work base before he would continue. He later travelled to meet his family and conversation became scanty. I realized how much I was addicted to him when I couldn't talk to him as much as I wanted. He returned to base and we continued like before.
I started praying for God to help me overcome these desires. Maybe he also felt the same, because for some reasons I don't know, he reduced the frequency of calls and chats drastically. I didn't try to find out why, just thought the time-off would help me clear out immoral thoughts. But I got hurt when he acted indifferent on one occasion when I felt he should have shown more care. I asked him about it and he pretended not to understand what I was talking about. I read the writing on the wall, and decided to play along. So I said "bye. It was nice meeting you." Part of me was grateful it ended, another part was wishing I could still be with him. I love my husband and children, I cannot come and scatter my home.
He thought I was joking. I was no longer responding to his chats, and when I did, only with monosyllables. He became hurt and accused me of going silent on him. I told him he started it. He wanted me to become defensive, but the Holy Spirit whispered "keep quiet ". So I allowed him rant without saying anything. I thank God I didn't, because I would have exposed how deep my true feelings for him were.
Right now, he chats once in a while, just general "how are you". I say "fine". My feelings have healed and I thank God we didn't continue because I wouldn't have been able to stop myself from an affair if we had eventually had any physical contact. I can categorically say I'm no longer in love with him.
I penned these down for those struggling with similar situations. Just cut off the relationship. Stop conversation, chatting, or physical contact. Then pray for God to help you overcome those lusty feelings. Well,i thank God for you that you were able to call it back, you would have found out that he's the same as your husband or even worse than him when it comes to conversation. Naturally a married man will not go into certain topic at a point in his marital life, not because he's not interested in them, but because the task ahead is much more important when compare to those topics and sweet words your casual friends says to you just to get into your pants. The moment he sleeps with you,he will switch to your husband's mode of conversation. |

cutebear: Lol! My school fees for MBA is £35k. It's one of the best business schools in the UK. My friend that is in Oxford University is paying about £65k for her MBA. The career prospects and connections for going to a top UK school is worth it and top companies like Apple, Google, Amazon etc like recruiting directly from those schools. That's why we don't mind the fees because the salary benefits after graduation is enormous (including the calibre of people we will have in our class which will lead to strong industry connections). MBA has never been cheaper anywhere, even in Nigeria, the logic behind it is that they assume you have been at a job,you only need it to move up the ladder. Mind you no be everyone is that lucky, a friend had one at Heriot Wyatt, what he does now is different o. Torough: Hey guys, how is it going? Just wanted to give my experience.
My passport expired 2 years ago (2020) so I applied for passport renewal on 14th February 2022, 10 years 64 pages (N72k). I used DIY (Ikoyi Office), the earliest date was 22nd of March so I picked it.
I went to the NIS on the day of capture I started out at Servicom, verified my NIN opened my file, etc. Afterwards I left Servicom and I verified my online payment. Then I proceeded to complete my capture.
I asked the official at Servicom when my passport would be ready and she said 6 - 8 weeks. Some days afterwards I tried checking via the portal on the site for my passport status but it didn't work; I strongly suspect the portal is only for immigration officials.
I went there yesterday (9 working days after capture) to try my luck and it turned out my passport was ready! The Date of Issue read 30th March (6 days after capture). I didn't sort anyone to get my passport faster, so it seems the system worked for me. The officials themselves were surprised it came out so quickly, they suspected it's because it was the 10 year passport.
When unsure of anything, be sure to ask any immigration officials you see around there; they were very helpful whenever I sought out help with information.
The information on this thread was really helpful so I'd like to thank everyone for that.
Thanks! 64 page's with 10yrs validity are available,i also applied for the same at Alausa and my collection date 28th of April. I am bidding my time because i don't need it for now. what was your collection date as written on your enrollment slip? |
