Honestly it hasn't been easy. For two Sundays now I have been attending my former church that is close by and I feel relieved. I am still confused on how to manage the distance, stress and high cost of transportation going to my own church. It is well.

So this morning I decided to try and deposit my old notes. I went cbn.gov.ng ,filled the cash deposit form ,went to the cafe to print it out and took it to cbn branch . On getting there I met other Nigerians who were already waiting for the cash swap program to commence . After hours of waiting ,some men came out and told people that had already added 200 naira notes to the form they filled online to remove it from the cash they want to deposit as they(cbn branch) just received a circular not to accept 200 naira notes as it was still legal tender.

Note: The form below will be given to you at cbn, while you must have your online print out and photocopy of a valid means of identification.

Food / Re: How Did You Survive Living Alone Without Cooking? by Solexgzy(m): 6:54pm On Apr 21, 2022
onlinestaff2020:

That's not true about a plate of rice costing N1200 in Abuja.

I have not cook since I left home January till now and I work in Central Area, Abuja...I eat out everyday.

A plate of rice cost N500 with meat and a nice sizeable plate...Two meats and a plate cost N600.

What I eat mostly to give me strength while working in the morning is two sizeable wraps of akpu or eba or semo or pounded yam or wheat costs N600.

That I must say, is not bad.
In the afternoon/evening, I eat rice and beans with meat at the rate of N350 in another location...Basically, I spend around N1000 maximum on food everyday.

That's not bad...Also, that's like $2 everyday.

Do you know that cooking is also getting seriously expensive coupled with the food materials and the stress involved.

In my own rationale, eating out and cooking, the difference is not much, just a thin line separate both.

If you want to cook, it takes a short or long duration before the meal is ready and by then, you are already worn out and disinterested to eat...However, when you eat out, the food is automatically ready and you dig in voraciously and move on to the next activity without stressing yourself like a woman in the kitchen.

Anyway, I'm an excellent cook right from many years but eating out presently has relieved me of those unnecessary wahala of washing fish/meat, looking for where to throwaway the dirty water, leaving beans on the fire for many hours, bleaching oil and everywhere getting smoky, chopping onions with runny nose, etc.

Cheers!

I embarked on a short visit to a very popular open market to see things for myself.
What I saw marveled me.
I was stunned at how cheap things could be.
Many a times we are blindfolded & overtaken by the events of times & what we can see on the surface without actually knowing that the real deal is beneath the petals of the flowers we see.

In the same vein, this Analogy can be likened to the story of the iceberg deeply buried underneath the sea meanwhile what sailors could see is just the "TIP" of the Iceberg.
"Life is always about how you make your BED".
Here, are some pictures I got and some items I was able to purchase too.

Travel / Re: My Travails, My Exodus and Life in the U.S by Solexgzy(m): 3:33pm On Feb 11, 2022
kaykith05:
Life in naija turned out ā€œnot to be a bed of rosesā€, especially when I left tertiary school. I was ambitious and had dreams and plans, and I thank God Iā€™m not the lazy type (according to one of our presdo), so I had to hustle to sustain and also save up for better plans.

Before I gained admission, I had this phone skill; like I know the in and out of most phone, from the days of 3310 to the Java phone era to Symbian OS glory days to practically any phone type, so it was pretty easy for me to troubleshoot, diagnose and solve software related problems of every kind and a lil bit of hardware knowledge.

While in school, through a friend, I motivated myself, bought myself my 1st laptop (compaq presario) and my friends saw me as a big boy but that wasnā€™t the case. I was hustling for over a month, while school had resumed to save and buy it but nobody knew. Iā€™m also thankful to God for my academic prowess, Iā€™m not the best, but I do catch up quickly, so staying away for a month didnā€™t mean too much. I got enrolled in a computer training on campus, that was my intro to IT (my dream).

Live was easy and sweet on campus, even though there are days that I drank garri and trekked to lecture, it was overall a lovely experience.

Fast forward to after graduation, I couldnā€™t get a good paying job except teaching, which I did for a couple of months and it even made my financial life miserable. So I fell back to my God-given strength went back to a labor-intensive job which I hustled while in school. The pay was good as I could save up to a 100k in a month during peak seasons; thatā€™s aside my daily spendings and weekend balling.

It was now time to have a plan for my life (phone accessories and digital entertainment business). Hustled hard for about 4 months, raised a substantial amount (no amount is ever enough for that biznez), just to start up something.

First few months was kinda dull, business wise but I had strong faith and hope, and that is the ā€œKEYā€. After one year, there was visible growth in the business; 2nd year, I expanded my shop. 3rd year saw strategic improvements; 4th year, I added phone sales to the business.

2 years later, added Laptop sales to it. Also I bought my 1st car after 3 years in business, sold It and bought another (Toyota fisheye) after 2 years. Then I bought (Camry muscle) before disposing the fisheye.

And lest I forget, I got married to a darling based in the US. A lot of things happened in between these times which time will not permit me to share but we never gave up. Like 2baba said ā€œif dem tell you say e easy, na set-upā€, manā€™s got to always forge ahead.

Watch out for part 2 which is (My Exodus) another day, I rest for now.

Hereā€™s me marketing my car before traveling out.

Romance / Re: Help! How Do I Tell A Senior Colleague I Am In Love With Her by Solexgzy(m): 9:09am On Jan 27, 2022
lordaltruist:
Dear Nairalanders,

I got this job in 2019 and it turns out that now I am the only male senior staff except from the security guard. Way back in 2019 there were 2 other guys but they left in 2020 after our company transferred to a different location and since then, I have been the only male staff other than the security guard whose job is not in internal affairs.

She is actually my senior colleague and way older than myself but over the past year and some months now, we have been so friendly though we don't discuss relationship together or talk anything boyfriend and girlfriend together but something seems to be odd in her look whenever I talk about a girl likewise myself I felt odd when she talks about a guy she flirted with.

In my office every other staff have a nickname for us both even my boss was the one who initiated the nickname because of how close we are and even though I nurse getting under her skirts, I do not have yet the muscle to tell her that and lately I am beginning to like her more as we share everything about ourselves.

I have been to her house and can go to her house at anytime and she was the one who persuaded me to return to the company after I didn't want to return when it relocated and also convince my boss to retain me; sometimes she buys me food in the office likewise myself and always like to have me around her like working together and whenever she needs assistance over a job, she will want me to be the person to help.

I notice she and my other female (married) colleague who work in the same department with us had almost had squabble because of whom I should be assisting and since she's the most senior colleague she won over that one.

She is very single and above her 40s but I don't mind as age does not define my relationship and right now I am growing so fund of her in a way I can't stop imagining and I need your advise on how to relate my feelings and make her confess hers to me.

All criticism and advise will be duly accepted.

Career / Re: Between "Barbing And Phone Repair" Which One Is More Lucrative To Learn by Solexgzy(m): 10:08pm On Jan 04, 2022
philip0906:

Like Iā€™m literally wondering how barbing is more lucrative than phone repair. Thereā€™s a proliferation of barbers as you have barbers in literally every corner. In many instances, thereā€™s more than enough barbers which can mean over supply. Barbing also has a low barrier to entry, which means any body can in a matter of days learn how to barb, open a shop next to you and halve your income.

On the other hand, phone repairs are based of skills acquired that can take months or even years to master. With almost every Nigerian with a phone, this means thereā€™s a market. The barrier to entry is somewhat high.

I donā€™t know any phone repairer whoā€™s not earning a decent living. On the average, phone repairers earn more than barbers. Iā€™m not talking of those road side phone chargers that call themselves repairers.

Religion / Re: My Experience With Prophecy by Solexgzy(m): 3:17pm On Sep 12, 2021
Success1975:
Have you been saved or delivered from impending doom or harm thru the prophecy a man or woman of God spoke to you? Or have you been guided by prophecy spoken concerning you, such that you acted in a way that made you escape danger or provoked manifestation of blessings... plz share to bless us this Sunday.

Mine was that my elder sister called me few months ago and told me that a Prophecy was spoken concerning me in her church that I should avoid any relationship with any married woman cause danger is looming towards that direction. I was surprised about the prophecy for 2 reasons; I don't do married women no matter the temptations and this is someone that stays in different state from where I live. But been someone that was raised from a Christian home I went into prayers the next day to cancel such negative prophecy from seeing the light of the day. Anyway I also ran thru my dating list and ensured no married woman was on that list.

To shorten my story, I met a friend and in the course of my interactions, he told me that a cult guy that lives within the neighborhood confided in him that someone was sleeping with his wife within the hood and he is on the lookout for the man and when he finds him he will strike so hard on d man. Unknown to me one of the ladies I've been dating was married and lied to me she is single and that the person d cult guy was making reference to was me coz he got my number from the wife phone and called me to desist from going by out with d wife. I told him I didn't know she was married and apologized. Till date the lady didn't know I had discovered she was married. All I did was severe the relationship and even others.

I thank God for showing me mercy thru prophetic revelation.

4 million can not build a house baby girl
Except if you want to build a low budget house....even as at that I can bet my balls that money won't be enough....the highest that money can do...is to take it up to roofing level...anyway, just start it sha and see it has a continuous thing or project that must be completed over a long period of time ...

Building a house is not funny and easy...na so i start one last two years because say i dey see small small boys dey build mansion for our area for sapele road, Benin city
As i start am na there i realize what have put my hand into
Initially i wanted a metro tiles roof and parafet abi na parapet
But as i begin buy steel rod and cement from foundation.
Shaperly na im i change mind say if i fit do am reach roofing level then na the normal roofing i go use. Buying of wood( plank) for budding and three quarter granite nearly give me depression.

Even up till now the building dey there. No money to even do the normal roofing not to talk of metro tiles
A real niggarrr is too young to die because of house
I can't kill myself. Make the building dey there
