it's stressful considering the time difference. Also, if you have already secured visa, what's the point of rushing the study when you can defer. When they open border, your visa will still be there. In the event that the duration on your visa is not long enough to cover the duration of your study, you can get a visa extension based on a new COE. This advise is especially for those wey no too get money. Don't be a cash cow for the Australian government. Right now, based on the news the government is not even sure if border will open this year despite the vaccine. And even when the border eventually opens, not all countries will be allowed in and as we all know, Nigeria is very likely going to be among the last countries to be granted access. So, for those of you who have been doing online study since last year, you might end up finishing your program while still in Nigeria. At that point, your only option will be to apply for the post graduate work visa for which you might have to wait a long time to get a grant as they'll have to consider people that are onshore first before those who are offshore.

Note: this is not to discourage anybody, just an opinion that you might want to consider while you're in the process of deciding your next steps with regards to your Australian journey. Make sure you're reading the news as well so you can make an informed decision.

At the end of the day, each person's situation is unique and every decision should be tailored towards ones specific goals/targets.
Detailed and well said

I kind of think it's better (If you have money of course) and just travel when things have eased down.

Nah it’s not at all because you going to miss out from the live and study in Regional area also won’t be able to get 3 years post study visa and 5 points for PR

Have been checking Utas is a good choice right for social work. And also for someone moving from economics to nursing do you think the transition will be allowed plus is it masters in nursing you’ll advice the person to go for or the other nursing degree someone mentioned earlier ? Thanks
I don’t have an answer to your question you will get the right and best answer by sending a mail to the Uni you intend going to. Email the international students office of the Uni

My life have come to a standstill and I don't know the way forward.
Started my journey for Australia Nov 2019 with application for admission without any agent.
Got a provisional admission Dec and the sch referred me to an agent in Nigeria to check my documents and ensure I meet the criteria, submitted all that was required and finally got the full offer Feb to start sch by July.
Paid my school fee, got my CoE.
Applied for my visa 14th March 2020, having done my medical and biometric. God a 50% scholarship.
Covid19 lockdown started..
Started my lectures online cos I didn't want to loose the scholarship and with the hope that things will improve before the end of 2020.
Finally got my grant 16th December 2020.

But the wahala now be say I no fit comot cos the restriction is still in place and I'm so confused now cos I don't know what else to do. Everything is just on pause mood.
should I continue with my work as a Teller in a bank or just resign and focus on the sch cos the stress was too much for me last year and since I already have my grant.

Guys confusion have full my head..
Advice is just take a break at least one semester send the school a mail that you are not finding it easy here that you need a break from study if not you will finish your Uni in Nigeria o my 2 cent for you

I understand your plights. A colleague of mine was just lucky to have left for Aussie a week before the travel ban.
A lot of international students have their lives on hold because of this restriction and I wonder why they can't be like other countries.
I will advise you not to quit your job, as someone rightly advised, reduce the courses you take next semester and hope for better news.

I am not paying a dime until they lift their ban.
Nah we are not going to open the border until 2022

Good evening guys, I just started reading the thread and I’ll like to apply for msc in Australia. I have bsc in economics and I’ll want a PR after my study is if advisable go for a finance course as have been seeing advice from people that going into health related course is better. I’ll love to hear people’s opinion and do I need an agent for the whole process or I can do it myself thanks
Finance/Business/Accounting very competitive with high numbers of applicants won’t advice you to go for it complete waste of time and money

Yes you need agent for Uni admission n visa processing but you have to DYOR

Nursing/Social work/medicine are hot cake

I have made some research on the AL1 Universities my Agent Goajo is affiliated with University of Tasmania needs IELTS which I have not written, while my application to Deakin University was rejected due my agent not indicating my previous immigration refusals. UNSW is where I got admit from and the tuition fee which is AUD$47,280 annually is quite expensive same with University of Adelaide which is AUD$46,000. Macquarie University you suggested only accept 3.5/5 Cgpa and above while my Cgpa is 3.27/5. Monash is also expensive AUD$42,800, Torrens University don't have my program Information system management/information technology/Data Science. These are the AL1 universities my agent is affiliated with. I'm thinking of reapplying to Deakins and rectifying the mistakes the agent made initially because of their moderate fees and having a campus in a regional area.

Please i need advice Fam

Write IELTS and go for Uni of Tasmania

If your visa comes with a " no further stay" clause, you won't be able to apply PR, unless you apply for that clause to be removed (which you must give the department good reasons for them to effect it). But if it doesnt come with that clause, then i think you can apply for PRvisa. This is what I think, and stand to be corrected, I am not an expert in this topic. More experienced people on here can help out with advise

Hello everyone, ghanks for your very helpful info here!
Please is there anyone who travelled to Aussie for studies with a child? How stressful was/is it for you? I have applied for MSc and the agent said I must go alone and arrange for my child’s joining in 3-6months of arrival so that they wouldn’t suspect I want to go there to live not to only study.
1. Do you think I can travel with my child? Shes just 3
2. Reaching there might be stressful as a newbie; accommodation, orientation and stuff; will I get an affordable daycare in the Uni or neighborhood?
If yes how expensive and or hard to get can that be?
3. Thank you
4. I have applied to GRIFFITH Uni for Master in Public Health MPH, I just saw somewhere here @babajigga said it’s expensive, please who has better options for me? Cheaper school cheaper city, where I can get job easily.
5. Anyone here that got admission via TGM education agency please

Forgot to add; Im a medical Doctor, want to go for master then subsequently do residency after (if possible) securing a PR or so
1. Yes you can

2. Hahaha Childcare is expensive here from $90 per day

3. Australia is expensive nothing like cheap schools

QUESTION

1. How many of you still have your job/ enough shifts during this pandemic ?
2. How good is your super and tax knowledge ?
3. Did you nominate your super fund yourself when you got your job or did your company choose one for you ?
4. Do you check your supper account to ensure that your employer pays your super ?

As good as getting a job is, not having good knowledge about the above will hurt you in the long term
1.More than enough shift

2. Best to use an accountant for your tax returns go with the highest claim

3. Yes I nominate. Using Sunsuper. If you have multiple fund I will advise you to use just 1 because of the fees you pay on multiple funds

4. Yes I do check it I get notifications as soon the account is been credited

Good morning All.

Please I'm in a state of confusion right now.
I recently got an admission with a university in Australia (to resume 20th July) ACU precisely.
I have Paid my school fees, got my CoE, and I have also applied for my visa, did my Biometric and medical. Actually waiting for my grant. But due to the pandemic, everything is on pause mode.
Few weeks ago, the outcome of a scholarship that I applied for came out successful. And I was awarded a 50%scholarship. (I was so happy.)
Yesterday I got a mail from the school requesting the I can commence my studies online pending when the travel restriction will be lifted or I can defer the admission to Feb 2021.

Now my challenges.
1. If I defer the admission, will the scholarship be withdrawn?
2. If I chose to start my course online and my visa is denied what happens.
3. Can the school give me a new CoE reflecting the scholarship?

Please guys I need ur advice and humble suggestions

Regards.
Email the Uni all these questions because they are the one with the right answers to your questions

Don’t forget this sha if you study for 2yrs in Australia you get 5 points for PR

Hello everyone,

I just joined this great forum. I can say that you guys are doing a great job passing awesome information.
Keep it up.

Please I have a question that is currently bothering me. Someone should please clear me before I make a mistake.

I just got my admission letter from UTAS for academic session starting July 2020.

I want to defer it to next session starting February 2021 for the following reasons:

A) short notice.

B) covid 19 and lockdown issues.

My agent is suggesting I pay the commitment fees to obtain my COE before I can defer the admission.

I am confused here because, I know VISA period is based on the date on the COE.

Cant the admission be deferred without paying any fees? I want to get a new admission letter stating february 2021 before I can pay commitment fees.

Please advice on the ways out of this.
-Defer to 2021

-Get New admission letter

-Pay your deposit and OSHC

-Get your COE
