^^
btw,Nigeria is currently an emerging manufacturing country.
Our manufacturing sector is growing.
Close to 8% of our foreign revenues in 2012 was from the manufacturing sector.
Oil has prevented the govt from taking that sector more seriously.

Ironi: Are you drunk?
Nigeria cannot undertake a fraction of their current projects without oil money.
Nigeria was paying contractors with oil when it started it's huge projects like road
Constructions. What ? You'll pay with cola?
Manufacture what? Agriculture and ICT? You kidding me?

Go do the Maths and tell me how much revenue Nigeria gets from
Oil and see whether in a million years you could get anything close to that
with your so-called manufacturing, agriculture and ICT.

Divert the money to the missile program? You are one funny dude!
where do i even start from?
Compared to sectors like solid mineral mining, agriculture, and even ICT, oil holds the less promise.
I agree with you that oil is fundamental to Nigeria's economy currently due to the over-dependence on it which is unfortunate as we have more viable and more economically imparting resources than oil .
Nigeria was a major agriculture power before oil and we were much better in terms of standard of living.
All the states in Nigeria are sufficiently endowed in various natural resources, but the whole nation is depending on just oil.
The richest countries in the world are not oil-producing and i can assure you that Nigeria would do much better without oil.

spain don't score much.
Tahiti-Germany for instance would be more of a cricket match.

Where are those people that like shouting "anti-football"?
They should go and tell italy that they don't deserve to win.

Ironi: My brother, me I dey help you ooo.

In Africa our leaders are very dumb, no imagination.
This is not about Nigeria alone, the whole Africa.

I can not stand poverty stricken African countries embarking on stuupid projects.

For some reason Nigeria thinks it's a rich country and can afford big stuupid projects but the reality on the ground
speaks differently.

Use your oil money wisely for no situation is permanent
what do you mean no condition is permanent?
You think Nigeria will get poorer?
Infact the reason why Nigeria is still poor is because of free and readily available oil money.
The sooner the oil get finished, the sooner our leaders start tapping other viable sources of wealth that will have an effect on the masses like manufacturing, agriculture and ICT.
Infact the shortage of oil revenue may be the best thing to happen to Nigeria.
And yes i believe sending people to space is too costly and unnecessary for now.
They should divert those funds to the current missile programme.

Ironi: Nigerians and their yeye.

Have you checked the number of Nigerians living below poverty level? Worse than any country in Africa.

No of children not going to school or learning under trees in the jungle, worse than any country in Africa.

You want train people for space? For what purpose?
To beat your chest?
Now the ghanian arrives.
Thank you for not disappointing.
Relax bro there is no vested interest in Nigeria..but there is great vested interest in the natural resources.....but i must say...you have to be silly to think that a world war 3 would happen because of Nigeria....you must not have studied about WW1 OR WW2....all the U.S, U.K. Russia, China, Canada, Germany,France Etc... has to do...is just label Nigeria a terrorist supporting nation...and go in and kill who ever they want and take whatever they want
Vested interests are most of the time on Natural resources,so it's not a new thing.
Btw,Nigeria is a very strategic american ally in africa atleast in the war against terrorism in africa.
And no,america,UK, france cannot just enter and take whatever they want,if not they would have entered syria a long time ago.
That's why we need to remain friends with russia.

comparing libya an arab enclave to Nigeria shows you don't know what you're talking about.
Btw,the vested interests in Nigeria is far beyond oil.

Are you not tired of the oppression at home and abroad?! And it's so unfortunate you can qualify someone like Buhari and uneducated Islamic fanatic. Well, don't let us reduce this topic to Nigeria politics... what I'm saying is that we need to respect ourselves before these white people recognize us, and it's so unfortunate that our leaders or representatives are the one selling us out. Which Nigeria criminal can ever think of smuggling weapons to Russia or North Korea and being caught without facing the wrath of law, fully?!
Is buhari educated?
Following his antecedents and his speeches,is he not a fanatic?
Yes,we should respect ourselves by not committing crimes in foreign countries.

Horus: All the 15 Russian sailors should receive capital punishment if guilty. "Dont mess with Africans", "dont flood Africa with illegal firearms and offensive weapons"; this is the message that Nigeria have to send to the world. If not Nigeria will have an image of a weak and coward nation.
STFU,bloody american.
Go and ask your govt how many compromise it has made with the russian govt.
Even america cannot mess with russia.

victorv12: I wish it was Buhari that is in power. Before those Russians will ever see Russia again, they would have spent over Three Years in Nigeria before allowing them to live. All our LAZY Nigeria Ambassadors should learn from this case. British, Americans and Russians can never allow their crooks to be incarcerated in any Nigeria prison. They rather go to war than to see a white man being maltreated by an AFRICAN! But as for we Nigerians, we can be locked up in their dog cage and the keys thrown into the ocean! This is the dilemmas of black manhood in Nigeria and abroad!! I wish our leaders are free from these white supremacist mentally. Maybe, all those sailors would be dead by now.
This is nonsense.
You don't just take steps to prove that you are brave, you have to think of the common good.
Nigeria is not a world power YET.
We still need the support of countries like russia.
Even America will not take such brash step,as they would look to making a deal that would be mutually benefitial.
I shudder to think what buhari would have done.
This is why we should never allow an uneducated islamic fanatic in aso-rock.

firetrap: you guys are getting it all wrong. we're the ones who are actually doing the arm twisting and we're going to get some great military assistance for letting them go. even the Russian government know that those guys are all guilty. and I can bet that the ones being let off the hook may belong to a Russian government security agency
Thank you very much.
Nigeria is probably getting something back in exchange, maybe a few military hardwares.
Politics › Re: Nigeria Drops Charges Against Russian Arms Suspects by solomon111(m): 7:23pm On Jun 19, 2013
Russia is a very strategic and important ally especially in defence related matters.
It would be very foolish of Nigeria to make russia an enemy.
Even america makes compromises many times when dealing with powerful allies and even 'enemies'.
It's not a matter of fear,it's common sense.

CraigB: Upset because you've come up short. No. You've come up shot. Two posts ago you weren't talking "military", were you? Now that you've been hurt, you want to shed tears. We see you.

You've been taken exactly where you wanted to go when you decided to talk about South Africa. This is reality. No simulating this. Pirates and refugees. "Smartness" and no results. Barrels and barrels of oil, but Naai-geria is a mess. Show me an oil-producing nation with your levels of reserves that suffers as much as you do. Please - and then explain what business you have got talking about soldiers in that scenario?
Sorry,Nigerians are not suffering.
2)most of those countries have very few populations.
Imagine if Nigeria had a population of 50million just like southafrica.
Though i believe in the long run,our population(human resources) will be a very important advantage.

Nigeria currently have 3 satellites in space and they are in good condition.

That was the same thing you guys said when we were launching satellite into space.
Now those satellites have become a massive foreign exchange earner for Nigeria and have also been a very valuable resource for the military and the metereological agencies.
Yes there is corruption in the country, but it shouldn't make us chronic cynics and limit us from achieving great things.

This is a grand and lovely idea.
A target we should aspire for.
But i believe the FG should focus more on rocket and missile technological research atleast for now.
We should master how to build those ones first, before attempting to go to space.

And all those countries have nuclear power plants.
Are Nigerians prepared for nuclear power plants?
If not, then it will take quite some time before 24hrs electricity becomes a reality.
