But, for the records I will still support Buhari even if had chosen Ribadu as his Running mate. My support for him is purely based on his past achievements and propensities. With him in charge I know my children can hope of a more disciplined society, with him in charge I know Killers will not be celebrated again, with him in charge I know capital-flight will become a thing of the past, with Buhari in charge I know Public office holders will be forced to perform, with Buhari in charge I know most looters will be booked a space in Kirikiri. Lagos Boy:
Jonathan meets Atiku, IBB, Gusau over April polls

Saturday, 19 March 2011 00:00 Suleiman M. Bisalla

In his bid to seal a deal with the Adamu Ciroma-led Northern Leaders Political Forum (NLPF) towards the April 9 presidential election, President Goodluck Jonathan last night met with the trio of former president, Ibrahim Babangida, former vice president, Atiku Abubakar and former National Security Adviser Gen. Aliyu Gusau. The meeting which started some minutes after 8pm at Defence House in Abuja was the second in the last one month and was said to have been at the instance of the President. A few top political associates of President Jonathan as well as some allies of IBB, Atiku and Gusau, were also at the meeting.

The meeting was ongoing at press time yesterday, but a source told Weekly Trust that the politicians met to discuss the outcome of the report of the seven-man committee that was set during the previous meeting between President Jonathan and the group, which took place at Ciroma’s residence February.

Prominent among issues to be looked at by the seven-man committee included the matter of the presidency in 2015. President Jonathan was said to have made a commitment during the February 18 meeting to the effect that he would serve only one term, but the NLPF reportedly asked for a strict commitment to zone the presidency to the north in 2015. They were also said to have insisted that the commitment be made public, a suggestion which the presidency rejected, saying it was likely to anger the South-East and make the president lose Igbo votes in the April polls.

Yesterday’s meeting was almost scuttled following the gale of arrests of members of the NLPF by the SSS last week and some sources alleged that it was masterminded by fifth columnists who will not be comfortable with the rapprochement between the president and the group’s members.

A source at the NLPF secretariat said that some members of the G20 including its Chairman, Prof. Jerry Gana have been identified as the arrowheads who “stampeded” the arrest of the NPLF Scribe and a secretariat staff. One member of the group told Weekly Trust that the members had since discovered that neither President Jonathan nor any members of his family were in any way remotely connected to the gale of arrests. According him, “President Jonathan was actually astonished and lost for words when confronted with the facts.”

The source said the SSS were actually misled by the fifth columnists with the intent to torpedo the talks with the Ciroma group which Jonathan considers desirable in his bid to win the presidency.

Buhari started co-founded ANPP to fuel his presidential ambition, when it became a democratic affair he suddenly left to start CPC and has the likes of Mohammed Abacha (a proud and arrogant son of the worst dictator in history) on his team as a Governorship candidate, a convenient deal?

Buhari is seemingly honest, seemingly. The Man's idea's doesn't fit into today's world. besides he will try to force all his opinions through just as he did it on he party level. common to stand down for Ribadu and help mentor him for leadership fafafa , foul.

Buhari is goo at one thing, whipping up sentiments. We will still vote for Goodluck and we will cast our votes and report it. My vote counts
Contrary to your assertion Buhari/CPC leadership actually substituted Abacha's name to INEC. Buhari/CPC were apparently not comfortable with Abacha's victory at CPC's Kano primary which they believe money played a big part of. But Abacha knows he is d rightful winner (bribery or no bribery), took his case to the court and got justice.

May I ask you what your own today's world mean? Fledging of corruption in high place? Careless disregard for sanctity of human lives? Celebration of murderers and looters? Importation of dust-bin from UK by a 41 year old country?

You obviously dont understand what you are talking about and I can promise you that the only one that can put an end to the mess that is currently plaguing the Nation is BB 2011.

I'm begging you to cast your vote for a better future where ex-convicts will not be given royal welcome, where a murderer will not b flown on d Presidential plane, where the President will not be importing dust-bins from UK.

PoliticsRe: Old Buhari Versus New Buhari by Solomon227(m): 7:15am On Mar 19, 2011
Bros stop debating with youself. Be realistic, pragmatic and address the issue at hand.

We have been presented with 4 options and other pretenders

1. GEJ/PDP: an uncontrolled corruption structure with no respect for sanctity of human lives. They have d billions to buy votes even in a free and fair run

2. Ribadu/ACN: Corruption-hater and fighter, though seems unstable with hasty judgement. His party can only boast of political strength in a handful states in the SW.

3. Buhari/CPC: An builder of monumental achievements. A hater and fighter of corruption. He has d largest common people followership/crowd especially in the North (with over 60% of d total registered voters)

4. Shekarau/ ANPP: Relatively unknown outside Kano until last night. His party controls only 3 states in the North.

So if we want an end to reckless looting, corruption in high places, savagely termination of human lives and destruction of properties, which have been the hallmarks of PDP 12 years of inglorious rule, who do advise us to back?

Fine General Buhari may not have the big grammar but:

He has got the records, the achievements, the will and the right character to bring this nation out of d dungeon PDP has kept us for 12 years

Kobojunkie:
Even BON DOES NOT hold the right, or claim to hold sole right to Presidential Debates in Nigeria . . . . . NO ONE GROUP CAN CLAIM OR PRETEND to hold that right. So for a PRESIDENT to pretend a group like that exists is bad enough. Any group out there RIGHTLY registered and licensed ought to be given an EQUAL chance at hosting a presidential debate. NO ONE GROUP should be set above the others BY THE PRESIDENT.

So, Jonathan's reason makes as much sense as rice crispies to pandas.

We Buhari fans know he is not perfect. But many of us have seen through deliberate misrepresentation of this man by GEJ agents. As a Military President he was a Muslim and he is still a muslim. As PTF CEO he was a muslim and still a muslim now.

As a matter of fact Buhari era as the military head of state recorded zero-incidence of religious violence or any crazy attack from any group of people. It is on record that he dealt dispassionately with Northern extremists and upheld egalitarian discipline at all levels of the polity.

We understand that not all of us want progress and development in our fatherland hence all this resort to campaign of calumny and misrepresentation.

Jonathan is a Xtian, Xtians were killed and are still being killed in Jos in 100s everyday. What did he do? He just kept mum because he doesnt want to offend the Core North against April 2011.

People died at GEJ rally only for Mrs Umblella to come out that they made sacrifice for democracy. Innnocent lives were taken in Abuja on Independence day. What has Jonathan done to the people he accused, on NTA, of planting the bombs?

Dayo there is no need for you to preach to me as if I support GEJ  for president.

IMO ANY candidate for PDP, whether Fashola or Duke etc would not change the fact that PDP has to go and go now.

That does not change what I think about these people heckling in the North, not to be confused with those who are actually interested in where Nigeria is heading and are making informed decisions.

Those who are politically mature and are looking at the issues and evaluation of the past performance of PDP and yes GEJ are different from people who hinge their support or demonstation on region or tribe of origin.

Many people who will vote for GEJ are also voting based on the same sentiment. The usual Nigerian sentiment.

That is my view.
Bros this is Nigeria and u need to bring yourself to d reality of our fatherland. At d Lagos guber-debate, where we can claim to have the strict admittance of well-informed politicians. I should believe that you guys have extended your campaign to the streets, because thats where the real voters are not NL. I am even tempted to ask if you have a voters card?
As a student at the University of Lagos the change I crave for came into my Lecture Thearter in the Fcaulty of Engineering. The change came into the Engineering faculty toilets, the change even came into my Departmental building (Chemical Engineering). The change was visible on almost all the buildings in the University of Lagos. Go and see for yourselfI dare u

As a corp member in Rivers state the change was even more visible at the University of Port- Harcourt. Almost every building in that University was touched (in one way or the other) with PTF signature. In Bonny Island where I served the 'change' even defied the aquatic divide and PTF logo was planted everywhere.

The change is also emblazoned in UPTH premises and building. Like my SW brothers will say Buhari competency is Abiniby and it  is clearly distinct from Ability.

Buhari is a Builder, A soldier of consequential focus, with unique passion for achievements! If u are still in doubt I challenge u to visit any Govt University, Hospital and roads in your immediate state b/4 u waka for 30 mins u must have seen 2 PTF signatures. Can we say d same of OBJ/PDP/GEJ mandates in d last 12 years?

Buhari-Bakare dont need introduction in any part of the North and we are winning with nothing less than 70 % of the total votes caste there. The talakawas know who have their interest at heart.

In the south the BB brand is spreading like a wild-fire and as u can see for yourself, 90% of Nigerians that use internet are Southerners and more and more opinions show we are all falling in love with the 'instrument of change' ;BB 2011.

I dont have a voter's card but I will tell u what I have been doing every weekend in the last 2 weeks. I have sent out over 250 text messages to my friends reminding them what General Buhari has achieved in the past and all the misdeeds of GEJ/PDP/OBJ/IBB. I currently have about 50 converts, who would have hitherto, sentimentally, voted for the clueless mediocre.

My friend and I visit Heathrow Airport every-weekend armed with hand-bills of the General's achievements in office and GEJ list of shameful-acts.  We have succeeded in meeting many registered voters heading back home and who have also been closely monitoring GEJ display of cluelessness, incompetency, dishonesty, and mediocrity. We have eazy job to convince them and we shall continue to do that to the election time. We have once demonstrated to have the Turai puppet  installed as a substantive President b/4 and we shall work to remove him.

Our facebook network is awashed with the Change message, updating our profiles with BB messages and achievements and winning more reluctant souls everyday.

I dont want to take u up lest u say i have started again . But please can you state the requirements to obtain a PHD in Nigeria?

With this Buhari's record I still dont understand how he is not also culpable for the failed project called Nigeria. Even at gunpoint I will never pick Buhari ahead of GEJ. Never.
