Vickii Ro: Pathetic,is what I say,its nw happening even in Africa.......nd dat boy supposedly has "parents"... Tufia!..Smh
Come on! Loosen up. The marriage is mere formality. If the parents wanted a real wife for their boy, they would have found him a small girl of his age range. This is just to make the boy and his ancestors happy.

He is going to be a great man in the future, with a great story beginning with " my first marriage was when I was eight years old. I am the reincarnation of my grand father who returned to life to marry my first love whom my great grandparents denied me of in my previous life" wow wow wow.......

tpia@:
why couldnt the woman and her cohorts just adopt the boy, the way it used to be done in african tradition.

this is unafrican.
Which African tradition? He has his own parents', so does not need adoption. The marriage was just symbolic gesture to fulfill the wishes of the ancestors. Read the article again please. In many cultures your father's wife is like your wife. She can sometimes playfully refer to you as "my husband".
Christianity EtcRe: America Set To Issue 666 Mark March 2013,....is This The End by Solozzo(m): 3:49am On Mar 28, 2013
proo212: If only we would study the bible then we would know exactly what God says concerning the time of the end. This is perhaps a diversionary tactic to take people's focus away from the actual bible prophecies (for Christians who do not study Gods word).

So if America has RFID chips implanted in every citizen, what about the rest of the world? How are they going to get the chip? If the rest of the world don't get the chip, that means only America is under the rule of the Antichrist and that is clearly not the way its supposed to be.

Study your bible and ask for the Holy Spirit to give you understanding! Don't predict the end from MSM (Mainstream Media) instead study your bible and when you see the signs that were spoken about in the bible, then you can use the MSM to confirm them because they will be reported but the signs will not linked to bible prophecies.
These so called signs of the end can be seen in every generation. The book of revelations signs of the end referred to wicked ruler ship and persecutions of Christians by roman emperors who reigned in the first century AD. 666 was the code for emperor Nero, while the beast was probably Emperor Domitian who asked his subjects to call him god and worship him. xtians who refused were killed. End time is jut a way to scare people to accept Christianity. This is not a proper way to convert people. they should join with a free will rather than out of fear of end time
e and hell fire.

Generations come and go but the earth remains for ever

Christianity EtcRe: "Why Has God Not Solved My Problems, If Indeed He Is Able?" by Solozzo(m): 4:54am On Mar 27, 2013
God had already provided all your needs. We have the sun, rain, rivers for water, plants, animals for foods. Medicines from plants, brain to think, plan, hands to manipulate objects and fashion tools. Social group life to help live and support ourselves. Death to relieve us from the sufferings of aging and disease. Reproduction to help us repackage our genes in our children so that we live for ever in our descendsnts bodies.

Yet we are not satisfied. We worry God to come and put food in our mouths so to speak.
This is an unfair request to make, and it is a reflection of our greed and lack of appreciation for all the provisions God has made for us. Use resources provided by God to solve the problems created by us.

tobmark: ;DEnd of time is already approaching little by little cos I can imagin an 8 yrs boy marryin 61 yrs old woman. First of all d boy is still a minor who can nt decide tins on it own, 2 me I dnt tink dis kind of tin is ideal
Yes it is not ideal but it was a formality in order to keep instructions of the ancestors to avoid a crisis. The boy and his family are at peace now. This is a mere symbolic marriage as per traditional belief. The boy would grow up to marry later on. Be culturally competent please. It has nothing to do with end time!
EntertainmentRe: 8-Yr-Old Boy & His 61yr-Old Wife Enjoying Married Life (Pictures) by Solozzo(m): 4:06am On Mar 27, 2013
GraceBestowed: Thank you for putting your point across. I know that they aren't legally married, but whatever 'ceremony' they have done is a connection; the nonsense is even exacerbated by the fact that it was his DEAD grandfather that wanted it. Whatever has happened seems like a ritual to me, hence my initial comment, after I read the full story. :-)

If Jesus Christ appeared to you and gave instructions to you, would you not carry them out? This is the same situation the family of the boy found themselves.

Azuming on the last day that person you hate, that person you refused to show Love that person you cheated that person you lied against, that person you refused to forgive, that person you killed, the person's face happens to be the face of God. What would you do?
Does God have a body or a face? Face of God is an allegorical statement to indicate no one knows his true structural nature. This kind of posts by this op, makes atheists to scoff at Christians.

CrimeRobber Electrocuted by Solozzo(op): 4:13am On Mar 24, 2013
The interesting thing about this news is the determination of the robbers to break into the business. Read on.

An unidentified young man was electrocuted on Tuesday while trying to burgle a shop at number 22, Ezza Road, Abakaliki, Ebonyi state.

It was learnt from a reliable source that the burglar and his accomplices who escaped, attempted gaining entrance into the shop known as ‘Variety Stores’ after they destroyed the outer burglary proof of the door.

The duo could not gain entrance into the main store as the inner burglary proof proved difficult to cut.
It was also gathered that as the burglars struggled to accomplish their mission, they went to a nearby tailoring shop and forced the door open.

Having destroyed the door, the late burglar attempted to gain entrance into the provision shop through the ceiling but met another stiff resistance from the burglary proof installed under the ceiling.

The source said that there was power outage at the time of the operation but the robber was unfortunate as power was restored at the time he was tampering with the burglary proof and was electrocuted in the process.

The Ebonyi State Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, Sylvester Igbo, who confirmed the incident, said that the shop’s owner alerted the police on discovering that someone was lying dead inside the ceiling.

“The corpse was yet to be identified and has been deposited at the Federal Teaching Hospital Abakaliki for autopsy.

“Police have commenced investigations to unravel the full details of the incident,” he said.

Meanwhile, Mrs Virtue Chukwu, owner of the shop, said she had lost over N1.8 million to incessant burglaries in her shop, which made her to install the inner burglary proof.

“This is the eighth burglary on my shop, although I am not too shocked over the incident except for the corpse of the dead robber.

“I am just returning from a church programme, where I prayed that God should arrest the robbers because they have been making life miserable for me.

“I don’t know whether it is deliberate or coincidental but they always rob me whenever it rains and you will notice that it rained earlier today,” she said.

erico2k2: As for the Unregistered vehicles, how about Mr A buys a car in Lagos wants to drive it to ABJ to number it, how does he go about it
Ideally this should never be done. Check with the licensing office in Lagos first. I heard you are given permission for about four weeks. In the United States of America you would need to place the car in a truck to travel within or outside the city if your car is not yet registered.
Christianity EtcImprove Your Spiritual Development - Read The Gospel Of Philip by Solozzo(op):
I include the first few verses of the Gospel of Philip below. It is so rich in spiritual truth, it is unfortunate Cardinal Constantine did not include it in the New Testament, probably because it is quite sophisticated. You can click the link below to read the entire Gospel.

The Gospel of Philip

1. A Hebrew makes a Hebrew, and such a per- son is called a proselyte. But a proselyte does not make a proselyte.
Those Who came from the Truth are as They were initially. And They beget other Men of Truth. The latter need only to be born (in It).
Proselyte is a person who recently accepted faith.
Those Who came from the Truth are Those Who came from the Abode of God-the-Father. They can lead Their disciples into this Abode, thus allowing them to be “born” in It.
2. A slave can hope only to become free. A slave cannot expect to inherit the estate of the master.
Yet a Son is not only a Son, but also a Co-owner of His Father’s estate.
A Son of God-the-Father, coessential to Him, is a Co- owner of His property.
3. There are those who inherit the perishable. They belong to the perishable, and thus they inher- it the perishable.
Those Who inherit the Imperishable are imper- ishable. They become owners of both the Imperish- able and the perishable.
People of the perishable inherit (really) nothing. Because what can a perishable man inherit?
If the one who leaves the body inherits the True Life, it means that such One is not dead but will live.

God does not meddle in human affairs. He had provided all our needs, and we made kings, cities, presidents etc. It's up to us. People commit crimes in the name of God. This is one of them.
Christianity EtcRe: Missing Joystick...Real Spiritual Phenomenon? or Urban Legend? by Solozzo(m): 7:50am On Mar 20, 2013
Reyginus: Whatever it is. I'm sure of what happened. Except you have an explanation for that.
Yes! It is a variant of a psychiatric disorder called KORO, classified under the category of culture bound syndromes in psychiatry. It is a form of anxiety related disorder common in East Asian countries and Africa. In the classical Asian form, the young man suffers sudden onset of anxious terror and a feeling of panic and fear that his penis is disappearing into his abdomen.. Family makes efforts to prevent this - tying it to a a stick or holding it in the mouth as they believe if it goes into the abdomen the person would die. In the African variant this is associated with anxiety and overvalued idea that the penis had shrunken/disappeared - under intense anxiety contraction of penis skin can give the false impression of reduced size.

The disorder is a complex of extreme anxiousness , panic attack embellished with overvalued ideas associated with cultural superstition. Common among poorly dedicated shy persons.

It can be treated with anxiety management, psychoeducation, culturally appropriate counselling without challenging cultural beliefs. With community education, the incidence can be reduced

jmoore: If your family is a wasted generation don't drag every Nigerian into it. Choose your words carefully.
Gbam!! No generation is a wasted one. Nigerians are an adaptable people struggling to cope with the harsh conditions they find themselves. Most of our rather extreme unusual behaviours are coping strategies to cope with fear of poverty and sufferings they had experienced in the past eg:

- religiosity to seek solace, beg God to help them out of poverty and evil machinations designed to make them poor
- corruption in govt is to have so much you and your children never go back to poverty
-crime to provide means of survival
- smiling and suffering to deal with the pains in their hearts using humor as a coping mechanism.
-incompetent leadership may have resulted from poor parental upbringing and attending schools like these

Overall Nigerians are resilient adaptable strong people.

You were too generalizing. Edo state in the past four years had made great reforms in school infrastructure and human resources. Virtually all primary and secondary schools were renovated and staffed, with regular teacher performance appraisals and support. Fashola in Lagos had called for massive school reformation, seeking community, industrial and NGO support. A lot has changed in some states my bros.

Not necessarily..... This kind of harsh condition is most likely to lead to:

-criminal behaviours
-personality difficulties
- corrupted and incompetent leadership in the future

Your childhood experiences are very important in shaping who and what you become in the future.

Tony Spike: There is a 60% probability that this school is located somewhere in Enugu or anywhere in the East. When I served in Enugu in 2008, my secondary school was very much like this. I heard the school had been abandoned for almost 20 years! At that particular LGA I served (name withheld), principals bribe the NYSC Zonal Administration to get higher allocation of corpers for teacher! The school where I served had just the principal, vice-principal and just 2 teachers. This is a school that has J.S.S 1 to S.S.3 classes.
Enugu state's education system was a mess as far back as 2009. I hope things have changed now...
Why such a high shortage of teachers in Enugu state ? Even in the 80s it was not as bad as this in Bendel state
