Yes, paedophillia is classified by psychiatrist as a mental disorder.The age cut off is abuse of children 12 years and below. One or a few sexual offences does not necessarily diagnose paedophillia. The individual has to be involved frequently and uses child sexual abuse as preferred means of sexual gratification.

However sexual molestation of children is a crime in most countries. To qualify for no criminal responsibility, the accused has to meet the following criteria

- did not know what he was doing or did not know what he was was wrong OR
-was unable to control himself

Simply put, the psychiatrist has to show the offender was crazy- that is he is not guilty by reason of of insanity. The psych report will inform the judge/magistrate to decide on disposal of the case fine, imprisonment and treatment.

The cardinal is expressing the fact that some priests involved in paedophillia were psychologically disturbed by their childhood experience of sexual, but does not excuse them from legal consequences and that treatment should always be included as necessary for this group of priests.

He was obviously misunderstood both by the press and the public.

The truth is that belief in witchcraft is an old superstitious idea that has no truth in it. Public education and referring self confessed witches to psychiatrist for assessment and management is a good way to begin. Many of them are delusional, depressed or brainwashed persons who need a lot of psychological help. If you believe the delusional things they say about themselves then vengeful punishment will be justified.

If you critically review witches phenomenon you see that their claims do not make sense. A poor wretched woman claiming to own properties; can kill whereas cannot save themselves while been beaten up; a naked buffoon up on a tree claiming they were flying at night and ran out of fuel (hahaha) etc.

Religionists think of God in human terms and that is what gave rise to atheism. Instead of acknowledging we do not know if any being created the universe as we have no means of testing or proving the existence of such a being yet, you use self created mythical ideas to sell your God ideas to people.

The Gospel of Mary

In this gospel Christ teaches that sin is not a problem of moral ignorance so much as a manifestation of imbalance of the soul. Christ then encourages the disciples to spread his teachings and warns them against those who teach of spirituality as an external concept rather than as an internal, gnostic experience. Mary, to whom this text is credited, then lifts the hearts of the disciples who have become despondent over Christ's departure. Peter and the other disciples acknowledge Mary's spiritual calibre and superiority and yet they challenge her when she describes her own gnostic experiences. This confrontation between Mary and Peter is well documented in many gnostic Scriptures. Mary exposes the small mindedness and superficiality of Peter and Andrew who find it difficult to comprehend, let alone accept, the deeper spiritual understanding that Mary has acquired through her personal experience and closer relationship with Christ. Indeed Peter and Andrew seem to prefer the very thing against which Christ warned them - a religion based on arbitrary ideas (in this case represented by Peter's male chauvinism and Andrew's ignorance). And yet many of their ideas have shaped modern Christianity while, paradoxically, Mary Magdelene's spirituality, which here seems more consistent with the teachings of Christ, is unheard of today.

The Gospel text:

"Will matter then be [destroyed] or not?". The Saviour said, "All natures, all formations, all creatures exist in and with one another, and they will be resolved into their own roots. For the nature of the matter is resolved into the (roots) of its nature alone. He who has ears to hear, let him hear."

Peter said to Him, "Since you have explained everything to us, tell us this also: What is the sin of the world?" The Saviour said, "There is no sin, but it is you who make sin when you do the things that are like the nature of adultery, which is called 'sin'. That is why the Good came into your midst, to the essence of every nature, in order to restore it to its root." When the blessed one had said this, He greeted them all, saying, "Peace be with you. Receive my peace to yourselves. Beware that no one lead you astray, saying, 'Lo here!' or 'Lo there!' for the Son of Man is within you. Follow after Him! Those who seek Him will find Him. Go then and preach the gospel of the kingdom. Do not lay down any rules beyond what I appointed for you, and do not give a law like the lawgiver lest you be constrained by it." When He said this, He departed.

But they were grieved. They wept greatly, saying, "How shall we go to the gentiles and preach the gospel of the kingdom of the Son of Man? If they did not spare him, how will they spare us?" Then Mary stood up, greeted them all, and said to her brethren, "Do not weep and do not grieve nor be irresolute, for His grace will be entirely with you and will protect you. But rather let us praise His greatness, for He has prepared us and made us into men." When Mary said this, she turned their hearts to the Good, and they began to discuss the words of the [Saviour].

Peter said to Mary, "Sister, we know that the Saviour loved you more than the rest of women. Tell us the words of the Saviour which you remember - which you know (but) we do not, nor have we heard them." Mary answered and said, "What is hidden from you I will proclaim to you." And she began to speak to them these words: "I," she said, "I saw the Lord in a vision and I said to him, 'Lord, I saw you today in a vision.' He answered and said to me, 'Blessed are you that you did not waver at the sight of me. For where the mind is, there is the treasure.' I said to him, 'Lord, how does he who sees the vision see it through the soul or through the spirit?' The Saviour answered and said, 'He does not see through the soul nor through the spirit, but the mind which [is] between the two - that is [what] sees the vision and it is [Š].' (the mid-section of the original text is missing)

"[Š] it. And desire that, 'I did not see you descending, but now I see you ascending. Why do you lie, since you belong to me?' The soul answered and said, 'I saw you. You did not see me nor recognise me. I served you as a garment, and you did not know me.' When it had said this, it went away rejoicing greatly.

"Again it came to the third power, which is called ignorance. It (the power) questioned the soul saying, 'Where are you going? In wickedness are you bound. But you are bound; do not judge!' And the soul said, 'Why do you judge me although I have not judged? I was bound though I have not bound. I was not recognised. But I have recognised that the All is being dissolved, both the earthly (things) and the heavenly'.

When the soul had overcome the third power, it went upwards and saw the fourth power, (which) took seven forms. The first form is darkness, the second desire, the third ignorance, the fourth is the excitement of death, the fifth is the kingdom of the flesh, the sixth is the foolish wisdom of flesh, the seventh is the wrathful wisdom. These are the seven [powers] of wrath. They ask the soul, "Whence do you come, slayer of men, or where are you going, conqueror of space?" The soul answered and said, "What binds me has been slain, and what surrounds me has been overcome, and my desire has been ended and ignorance has died. In a [world] I was released from a world, [and] in a type from a heavenly type, and (from) the fetter of oblivion which is transient. From this time on will I attain to the rest of the time, of the season, of the aeon, in silence."

When Mary had said this, she fell silent, since it was to this point that the Saviour had spoken with her. But Andrew answered and said to the brethren, "Say what you (wish to) say about what she has said. I at least do not believe that the Saviour said this. For certainly these teachings are strange ideas." Peter answered and spoke concerning these same things. He questioned them about the Saviour: "Did He really speak with a woman without our knowledge (and) not openly? Are we to turn about and all listen to her? Did He prefer her to us?"

Then Mary wept and said to Peter, "My brother Peter, what do you think? Do you think that I thought this up myself in my heart, or that I am lying about the Saviour? Levi answered and said to Peter, "Peter, you have always been hot - tempered. Now I see you contending against the woman like the adversaries. But if the Saviour made her worthy, who are you indeed to reject her? Surely the Saviour knows her very well. That is why He loved her more than us. Rather let us be ashamed and put on the perfect man and acquire him for ourselves as He commanded us, and preach the gospel, not laying down any other rule or other law beyond what the Saviour said." When [Š] and they began to go forth [to] proclaim and to preach.

Congratulations to him!! But he is too elderly, about same age as former Pope when he ascended the papacy. There is need for a younger energetic pope to make needed reforms in the catholic Church.

Not staged. I had seen a similar scenario on a TELEVISION documentary. The couple had raised the two lion cubs to juveniles and had them released into a reserve. Years later, while visiting the mini reserve, the lions came up to them and gave hugs and kisses and went on their way. So amazing!! Lions are not evil. They kill to eat or protect their territory, just like any human being would in a similar situation

Former military Head of State and founding member of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), General Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida has said that he is yet to decide the political party to vote for in 2015 but said that he may vote for the upcoming All Progressives Congress (APC).

This was even as IBB gave reasons why former President Olusegun Obasanjo was brought back to rule Nigeria in 1999.

General Babangida stated this when he appeared on Liberty Radio’s ‘Guest of the Week’ in Kaduna yesterday saying that, he has a right to vote any candidate of his choice as a Nigerian.

According to Babangida, “I am a firm believer of two party system and I also studied the emergence of political parties in this country immediately after independence and it shows that this country will be heading for a two party system; you heard about the national alliance parties coming from the North aligning with those from the South, NEPU aligning with NCNC and so it started during Shehu Shagari time.

“So when we came, the two party systems democratically, you have to have a choice, democratically you can vote without belonging to a political party. You vote for the quality of the man that you want to represent you; so it is not anything new because I believe in two parties and I see signs of the possible emergence of two a party system. I welcome it; it is good for the polity, it is good also for the unity of this country”, he said.

He added: “when we were doing it in 1989, some of you wrote us in the media that, no it is going to be one Christian party, one Muslim party, then you say it is going to be one northern and one southern party and it did not work and everybody blended.

“The chairman of NRC was Chief Tom Ikimi, the chairman of SDP was Kingibe and everybody was in one or the other; you just have to have an accommodation”, he noted.

On whom to vote for in 2015, IBB said, “first of all we have a new party in formation; Nigerians have a new party in formation, they are trying to get their acts together, they are trying to sell a programme for us the public, so that they can use that programme to take power.

“As for me as an ordinary citizen, I have the right to look at what they are offering this country and based on my knowledge of what I believe is good for this country, whoever offers something similar to that or near to that, I have the right, the constitution allows me just to go to the polling station and drop my ballot and say I like this”, said.

Speaking further, the former Head of State stressed: “I will belong to those who will chose a credible candidate, a candidate that can lead this country and it is not difficult to find out of 170 million people; there must be a candidate that is what the constitution provides. If the party is silly and chooses the wrong candidate, the ordinary person is not silly. He knows this man cannot lead him so he doesn’t vote for him. If he chooses a wrong candidate, he stands the chance of losing”.

He continued: “I have enough time to think and I am thinking and they will be anxious to come and see me; they will visit me or any other person. This is what I intend to do. We are talking about a new and emergent scenario, so I will wait and see”.

When asked whether he has intention of leaving the PDP, IBB said, “I, as one of the founding fathers of the party, I cannot disown what I founded”.

Also speaking on the why he pioneered the return of Obasanjo to rule Nigeria again in 1999, IBB said the need to save Nigeria from looming crisis gave rise to bringing back Obasanjo.

According to him: “we have to simplify a lot of things without going back to what happened before; the emergence of Obasanjo came about as a result of what happened in the country, the country was in a very serious crisis and we have to find the solution to these problems and therefore we needed a leader known in the country, we did not believe in foisting somebody who is not known; so, we looked for a man who has been involved in the affairs of this country, who held positions either in the military or in the cabinet and who has certain beliefs about Nigeria. Now, all of us that were trained as armed forces, there is one belief that you cannot take away from us; we believe in this country because this is part of our training. We fought for this country, so when you have a situation like that, you need a leader that has all these attributes and quite frankly, he quickly came to mind.

“Remember those days, the fight is against the North’s perpetuation. But here, we have one who knows the North, knows the South and who fought a war, who believes in Nigeria and he says it. So, people with that type of connection the people recognized you, and this is what we did, in the case of Obasanjo.

“What he did is between him and the Nigerian people but his emergence saves a lot of problem in Nigeria.

“At least, we did not disintegrate because we believe he can go to war again, to keep this country”, he stressed.
