[quote author=odigbosky post=72780834]Autojosh these buses here are the new one Obaseki bought oooo. The Original Oshiomole bus are green and you can't compare them to these ones na.

Oshiomole buses as they are called started at about 2010. Then they issued tickets to passengers entering for N30. They later increased it to N50 about 2 or 3 years later. The government later came up with the e -card for payment. The cards were sold for N400 and it was N50 for card owners and N70 for non card holders. The government also gave students their cards which i think was free for them then but adults took advantage of it so govt scrapped it. Now cash is not accepted if one wants to use these buses. all payments are made using that card....I started using this bus in 2010 and till now i never buy

I can see "Comrade Bus" written on the red buses that you claim were bought by Obaseki.

The point Autojosh is trying to make is that wether the buses were bought by Oshiomhole or Obaseki, they call the buses Comrade buses.

This was captured at Teslim Balogun stadium in Surulere, Lagos.

The very dirty foam/mattress as seen in the picture is what is used by high-jump athletes for training at the stadium.

Athletes that use the foam for training include state and national athletes.

Indeed, this is very uninspiring - to say the least.

I share in your optimism, bro.

However, lets hope and pray that your "Digital Governor" can perform magic with the debt-riddled treasury of Edo state, No thanks to the Adams Oshiomole administration.

We need new and vibrant politicians like him. However, I think it will be better for him in his campaign to focus more on what he plans to do to move Nigeria forward, rather than personal attacks on his co-contenders.

He seem to be making news these days more for criticizing his co-candidates.

all these out of touch car topics by autojosh

if you'll be a successful auto niche blogger you need to create better original content tailored to your primary audience.

here's a free idea;

get one each of 2003, 2010, 2013 and 2017 Toyota Corolla in an open quiet place

you can even partner with one of our car dealers in the auto section, shout them out or display their logo or contact info, promote them

do a detailed review, point out the different features, upgrades, pros and cons, etc

The views and feedback would be massive. It will sell itself

not all these Geneva auto show or bugatti Jollof rice topics the mods keep pushing to front page by force.

if you doubt me check how many of your front page topics get past the first page even with the irrelevant comments, compared to the other front page topics.

as it is now you're fighting with all those job vacancy people for least number of views and comments.

with time even nairaland front page would not help your blog with your copied content or boring original stuff

my 2 cents anyway. just my opinion

And the name of your blog is?

I'll go with hungerbad's answer. Most Nigerians think sirens are a scope to get ahead of traffic. Same way drivers see zebra crossings as tom tom adverts

I toe that line of thought too.

Seriously op where exactly do you want motorists to move to on that road you just showed in the picture? undecided
Actually, they can slow down for the fire vehicle to get into their lanes ahead of them. With that, the fire vehicle can meander their way through traffic.

Technically yes and no. The way they calculate wealth in the US is a little bit tricky and confusing. Their expected wealth Is even calculated among the present one.

Donald Trump on paper is a Billionaire , but in real life he can't raise a Billion from anywhere. While in Countries where it is strictly cash economy, it is easy to follow the trend of money like we are following Dangotes own.

And you believe Dangote can raise the naira equivalent of a billion dollar cash, without getting bank-crashing loans from all the banks in Nigeria?

Looks nice but no biggy.

Ironically, none of the cars is fully paid for. He is worth $120 Million, but the American culture encourages things to be bought on credit, where little payments(car notes) are paid monthly.

That was how Evander Holyfield and Mike Tyson got all their things, including their houses repo-ed when they were late on payments.

Even Michael Jackson with all his wealth on paper, was struggling to meet his bills before he died.

Nigeria operates a cash economy. So if these cars were parked in Nigeria, I will know the owner don chop well.

The U.S operate a credit economy, and anybody can own anything there on credit.

In other words, Dangote is richer than Bill Gates, abi?

[s]Autojosh, I used to think your posts are fair and good for public consumption but Im beginning to see it as an agenda.

If you look at the streets shown you notice[s] they are communities. Look in their gutters and drainages, why is it blocked? Why are debris all over the streets? Did Ambode litter their streets and blocked their drainages?
Where is civic responsibility on part of citizens to keep their communities and environments clean?

Stagnant water on streets deteriorate the road surface and breakdown the firmness and structure, so under weight of heavy vehicles and usage it begins to collapse and result in pot holes.

If we get rid of stagnant water on surface we will spend less maintaining bad roads. Stagnant water is waste and washoff water that is unable to run off because drainage is blocked.

Drainage is blocked because communities are careless about environment and dump waste paper, cans, cardboards, sanitary pads, and so on on the ground.

Ask if people would allow their toilet to be blocked the way their streets are blocked.

Its a partnership. Govt is supposed to do the part that citizens are incapable of achieving, individually or collectively. Citizens are capable of not dumping waste on the roads and the gutters.

As a road enthusiast and campaigner get your message out on this note and raise awareness on civic responsibility and stop blaming govt for dirty roads and front yards.

Get sense![/s]

Slave mentality.

A classic Stockholmes Syndrome.

Again the stucture is obvioulsly an after thought as it was obviously started well after the bus terminal. But some blogger either to attact clicks or to mislead intentionally brings up this poor report and you jump on it (Who knows, maybe just to garner nairaland likes cos thats how low a lot of people have sunk). the very problem with a lot of our youth. low mental alertness.

If the project is an afterthought, isn't the author justified by calling it an uncompleted project?

Beisides, why is the bus stop not yet operational months after it was completed?

This is federal property. Lagos is trying to take it over. When Lagos acquire ownership there will be no need to repair it because this is eyesore. It should be torn down and rebuilt for purposeful living.

Must Lagos take over before they fix the road? Did Lagos take over Oshodi- MM International Airport road before they started repair works on the road? What stops Lagos from repairing the roads and taking an invoice for the repair to the Federal Government? Or is Buhari the governor of Festac?
