OhMyG0d: What Lithuanian did is practically "an act of war". The goods you sanctioned were not being traded or sale in your country, rather, the goods are being transported between the Russian mainland and the Russian enclave, Kaliningrad. It's like Canada blocking American goods at the Alaska exclave from passing through Canada to America mainland. These EU minions like Lithuanian is playing with extermination of everything they hold dear. Russia will "remove the gloves" if Russia choose a military-technical to solve the partial blockade, if sense doesn't prevail on their insolence towards Russia. Just wondering what is wrong with that small local-government-population of a country. Trying to block transportation from a country to another part of her territory because you think you're? |

lovewins: Just for persons to learn. I'll do a brief
There were two factions the Kida faction and the TJ faction.
Both had parallel elections and both elections were cancelled by FIBA as they both were in violation of FIBA statutes (easily verifiable information).
FIBA however (a big mistake I believe) chose to liaise with Kida pending the time Nigeria solved her internal crises and a new election conducted.
The former minister Dalung couldn't bring both of them to the table till he left. When Sunday Dare came in he also made attempts but all to no avail. It became clear that an election would have to solve the crises. A constitution was drafted (the TJ faction refused to participate with the drafting so shot themselves in the leg) and the constitution approved by both FIBA and the NOC. It was on the premise of that constitution that the election in Benin that brought back Kida had legal standing.
FIBA now only recognises Kida. Even when the FG went through back channels to persuade FIBa they refused.
The FG is now doing what it should have done initially, recognizing the Kida board and allow them serve their 4 year tenure.
By the way, Mark who carried out the other "election" in Abuja is only a stooge for TJ. He is sadly interested in the development on basketball in Nigeria and has carried out several programs to that effect. Olumide was also a part of the TJ faction, but when he noticed how the tide was moving, he decided to go to Benin and participate in the election, now he's the southwest representative on the board.
All verifiable information. This is why I said FG backed a fraction while FIBA backed the other which was why the crisis lingered this long. If there was no strong body backing one of the 2 fractions, there would not have been any crisis to have lasted 5 years The only bodies that could have given any of the fractions legitimacy outside the court are FIBA and the FG/Sports ministry. My point you have ignored so far. Have a nice day sir. |

lovewins: FIBA and FIFA are international organizations with laid down rules part of which includes the non interference of third parties. Government interference is regarded as 3rd parties.
Nigeria and Africa do not necessarily have to be a part of those organizations if we don't like the rules or can't abide by it. It implicitly means we are also ready to bear the consequences ( including not participating in events tied to these organisations) basically every world event. But once we chose to join them the rules are binding on us.
FIBA won't stop Nigeria from organizing BB competitions in Nigeria. We can chose to be sovereign and play by our own rules and do as we please. But we should also be ready not to attend FIBA competitions of we don't like FIBA rules simple. (These includes competitions for the so called grassroots basketball we claim to be developing not just national team engagements) Because their rule stalled basketball development in Nigeria for about 5 years, which was why the FG wanted to suspend us so as to have unhindered control over putting the sport in order. |

lovewins: Apparently this just came in
This is what Sunday Dare should have done. After going through the motions and almost wrecking the game, the FG is now choosing to do the right thing.
Hope this brings better clarity to my position. This only showed that the 2 fractions have now seen reason which my questions pointed to. As long as the crisis is gone, all fine and good.. FIBA and FIFA should also stop boxing African countries to unfavourable corners by allowing countries make decisions that best suit their national interests. |

lovewins: You still do not get my point.
There was a crises in 2017 after the election. 2 elections held but none was recognised by FIBA. FIBA however decided to liaise with Nigeria through Musa Kida pending the time a constitution is drafted and another election happened. (First mistake).
The election after many years took place once the new constitution was ratified by the NBBF general assembly and the ministry. Yes two election took place again but only one was known to law. So in reality there was no longer crises big enough to have impeded the growth of the sports (at least not like 2017). Dare however decided to reawaken it cause his preferred candidate lost. Wrong, you are twisting what happened. FIBA recognised that of the other guy (forgotten his name) which the sport minister and FG frowned against. If FIBA didn't recognise any, then it would have been very easy for the FG backed fraction to have taken charge. Why would FIBA at that time threatened to sanction Nigeria for Govt interference? |
Sports › Re: Nigeria Basketball Thread! by somehow: 2:31pm On Jun 23, 2022 |
lovewins: Many of those challenges were largely because there was no board known to law at the time. But after the February election the Kida led board was the statutory board and it was their responsibility to begin to fix the mess. The minister however chose to play to the gallery.
Yes it is true that he tried to resolve the crises and both parties chose not to work together, the only way to solve it then was an election.
I'll use the APC primary elections as an example. Many persons called for a consensus candidate, even the president wanted one but an aspirant who was sure he could win said no. It means an election had to hold. What would have been out of place was say another aspirant knowing he would lose decided not to go to Eagles square but instead chose to hold another "primary elections" at the national stadium. He got a few people together and declared himself winner. Mind you, the President wasn't there, the APC NWC wasn't there, INEC wasn't there. Would it then be appropriate to even recognize such an election? It was a sham.
The minister chose to keep a problem that an election had already solved alive. Simple.
This is coming from someone who doesn't even like the Kida presidency From different sources, it was claimed that FIBA only recognised that of the one you claimed had no 'federal backings" because there wouldn't have been any issue if FIBA actually recognised the same election backed by the FG and the sport ministry. |

lovewins: What crises?
Yes there was crises prior to the election but the crises ended once Kida was elected. I really do not like Kida and do not fancy him and NBBF president but he won fair and square.
Only one election held, the other one was a sham.
Kida's election in Benin had a FIBA rep present, NOC rep present, all state chairman save one. He was duly elected. All that was left was for the ministry to acknowledge the election, cause FIBA already did, but Dare chose to play to the gallery. In my opinion, the crises ended by Dare brought it back to life. You actually believe the crisis ended after the election? If it did, why then was the decision to suspend basketball taken? Some of what you wrote here aren't true at least from other sources. I posted a screenshot of another narrative on the previous page, kindly check. |

People problems exist in recent governments including the current one, so anyone getting into the position of the presidency shouldn't use this as an excuse and be ready to deal with all that gets thrown his way. zabimaru: If and when Peter Obi wins this election (I am hoping, praying and voting for him), fixing this country means the other "Rulers" have intentionally been dragging the country backwards.
He'll have a lot of people problems to deal with where people will intentionally be sabotaging his every effort in an attempt to save the previous government's face.
People problems are the hardest to deal.
Wrong products, wrong policies, wrong processes and right people will find a way to make it work. If it cannot work, they'll come back to the leader with Germaine points.
Right Products et all with the wrong set of individuals and I can easily tell y'all for free, they'll find an excuse to continue dragging us underground.
Peter Obi should start devising means of handling people and adopt a very strict consequence management approach. It's not about what he plans to do, or how he intends to go about it, it's majorly about who he intends to work with to achieve all that. |

(If No): He should employ a Trusted security personnel, Who would Carry out duties Diligently & Effectively.
(CCTV cameras should be monitored from time to time)
Get a better Security Door.
CCTV camera should be hidden ( installed in such a way that it's not noticeable by thieves or anyone, except owners)
He should have at least, Three Deadly Security Dogs. (That patrol the office building from closing hour till dawn).
A security Alarm should be installed in the office building such that whenever there is a breach by third party, the sound is loud enough to call the attention of the neighbourhood to the scene.
Office compound should always have bright lights on all night through the next Morning.
Empower his security Personnel with the use of Drone for Surveillance. Thanks sir but Chai... MONEY! All these should be enough to move the business to Ghana lol but I get you. |

Rany4all: A good business manager would take actions proactively to mitigate against losses that might be catastrophic to the business even before such losses occur.
Security is a given for any business to thrive, but one can only do so much in terms of providing good security because of cost. And potentially catastrophic loses can also occur even with the best security measures. Huge losses can come from theft, fire, building collapse, flood, etc.
A good security system may not be enough to mitigate against such losses, so a more pragmatic business manager would rather invest in insurance than more expensive security setups.
A business can easily fold up from certain types of losses, but with insurance it's always easier to bounce back.
PS: I'm not an insurance sales man ooo...just saying In a nutshell, another way to secure your business is via insurance. Thanks sir, didn't ask if he's got that. |

My younger brother's media production studio was broken into a short while ago even though he installed CCTVs in specific areas, they wore face caps and sprayed the cameras. They broke the fiber or is it copper door leading to his office which served as their entrance to the rest of the offices. Came through the fence shared with a school, stole alot of stuffs (TVs, CPUs, Lens, Camera etc but left some in the next building (Too much to carry without being detected.) They even stole flower vases Why the long epistle? Saw the copper door and got questions all over. The door is said to be a security door but they broke and gained entrance through the locks.. How come? I gave him some advices going forward but what extra security action should he take internally? (He has entered agreement with some OPC guys in the area but I told him he needs to watch the watchers too). How best can he secure his business? |

How were you able to go about it?
If you don't mind, can you pls share the documents submitted for the building approval and was it a case of Do It Yourself or a govt official assisted you with the processing?
I will appreciate your input on this. Got tax clearance but they claimed it wasn't enough for the type of building involved. A mil and half was the tax levy that was added. Maybe the tax you are already paying can handle your type of building, then fine.. (Tax business people pay mostly relies on profit especiallyif the businessis mostly into services compared to 9:5 peeps) Went through an official within the ministry. A brother currently doing his directly, he's been given a letter (tax letter) but haven't gone to get it. Till then, can't really say if it would have been better done directly or via an official within the ministry. For the docs they ask for, go to their website, everything is there or just Google it sir to save time. Island (Lekki-Ibeju-Lekki) is kinda high there when it comes to Approval/tax cost. Should be cheaper elsewhere. |

For instance, she prefers a black tile, I prefer white...her only reason being that black can mask dirt/stains, while my reasons for white included brighter interior, cooler temps & ability to match with any interior decor...so I won on that aspect. If she had provided a superior argument, of course I'd have gone with the black.
Others may have a different way of doing theirs and that's completely ok too. You worked together which is what I meant. Decision was taken after both opinions got compared based on merit. So yes, you didn't dictate even though you're the boss |
