Joe4lv: Wow! This is very good. I just acquired two plots and would look to have C of O for that land. I just hope I will be able to do so in Anambra state as there is no federal secretary in the state. If the land is from Federal, only Federal can give you C of O. I doubt if there's any state that doesn't have Federal Secretariat. Please make enquiries |

Joe4lv: How much does it cost to acquire C of O from federal ministry of land? Is there taxes on it annually? I don't know but we paid about 160k for everything ranging from registration fee, survey fee, annual ground rent fee, premium fee and title fee all through remita. |

Takoro13: Thanks bro, reading the body of attached page I am afraid of terms and conditions like the allocation. It read that one bedroom house, 99 years of ownership and on. I'm a sis 99 years of ownership you saw is referring to the the C of O. One bedroom house is because it was designed to be a low cost housing estate, it doesn't mean that you are mandated to build a one bedroom flat. Go to the Fed ministry of Land in your state and get clarification to all the gray areas. We have done something similar to yours, a deed of gift and that was how we handled it. Nothing can be done on that land in terms of buying and selling, developing etc without the ministries approval. |

Takoro13: Guy day to everyone in the group. I need enlightenment from my ogas in the house. The issue is that I want to buy a parcel of land from a man. He took me to the land and we agreed on the price. He ask me to pay a little as he claimed not to have money to pay for the man that will open the real space to be sold. After little talk I agreed to give him money as he is my area brother like that. I gave him #100k. My thinking was I am going to pay the remaining after my SURVIOR visit the place. I was surprised when my SURVIOR got there and told me the land is a government land and he called four others to confirm it. Now the man said there is no issue as the land has been allocated to him with the attached documents. Seeing the document, the name on it (tinted) is not my name nor his name but his daughter name. Please, what could be the consequence of someone occupying such land bcs I have no knowledge about it and don't want the buyer in trouble now or then Tell him you will like to hear from his daughter. If it's the daughter's then deal directly with her. A lawyer will draft a deed of transfer both signed by you, then you take it to federal ministry of land so that they capture you as the real owner and C of O will come in your name. Goodluck |
