Mamas come to my aid as regards this burping issue o, my children are 5 weeks old and burpingvthrm is so difficult cos it takes time before they belch which was not so before, now I get tired of running their back that I just give up in-between cos of the stress of caring for two children.

Again they have been so restless since yesterday that they don't get any meaningful sleep don't know the cause of this bit I've checked everything including temperature which seems ok, what could be wrong?.

Some babies find it hard to belch and also they keep changing pattern. Just burp and bring the wind halfway so that they can bring it up easily. I count to 100 and drop the baby lying sideways or stomach down in that way any small twisting from the baby brings up the wind.

As for restlessness, the weather is terribly hot. They could be hot, wet or even colic. Dress them lightly and change diaper often. Dont worry before you know it they will outgrow this phase. Vigilante is real for now. Dooh! The Lord is your strength Nne Ejima.

Hello mummies. Trust you all are doing great.
Pls I need answers to these:
(1)I gave birth 27th Sept.'17 and we have been on exclusive breastfeeding. When will it be the complete 6months ebf? I was looking forward to 27th of this month only to be informed by a relative it's next month. The news weakened me pls clarify me o cry

(2)My ds new method at night is to be laid immediately after sucking. once he's done sucking, he would not stop crying and twisting his body till you lay him. and once you put him down,he sleeps off immediately. pls what do I do cos I end up not burping him.

Thanks as I await your response.

March 27th is 6months na. Pls introduce food by then.

So far you dont lay him face up, you are good to go. At 6 months i dont burp again sef cause they can belch easily unaided and have stopped possetting.

Well done mamas! Av come to take my space here grin. Please what's d best powder for heat rashes? D thing has broken out on my baby's face and I make sure I don't overdress and cover him especially as d weather is hot. Baby is 3 days old. Thanx mamas.

The rashes will clear, most babies have it as they sweat alot especially while sucking. Pls dont use powder yet on his face.

Hello mamas, pls how do I treat tongue sore?? cry cry it's been in my baby tongue since Saturday and it doesn't look like it's ready to go away... I have used oral glycerin(it makes it worse or I'm doing it wrong) and vit C tablet but my baby is unable to eat, cannot even take pap, just water and ribena/Lucozade boost.
Sabi mamas pls ooooo; cc Jina24, zaynie, hunniesuzie, liftedhands, enque ( it don't think its a pirated copy ooo as it's clear as watching a movie at home. the station is Excel Tv)

*Use salt water with hankie to clean his mouth or better still use mouth wash with hankie.
*Continue with vit c syrup
*You can use bonjela cream and apply on the sore, this will numb the place and less painful
*Give more of liquid food like pap and the likes.
*Give water often.
*if he has cough in addition/temperature, you may need to see a doctor. All the best

After delivery, my doctor specifically told me to use spirit and I did
It stung like mad!

He said put spirit on a fresh pad, put it on the episiotomy site for 2 mins, then throw away and wear a clean pad

I did that everyday for 3 weeks

And I healed very well, and my hoohaa is so tight now grin

Wehdone ma! I salute your courage. I'm convinced you are a very strong woman. I'm shaking as I'm imagining it.

I experienced same during my first birth. This was the advice I got here DAT saw me try. Use moko spirit n wool to clean it ALWAYs to keep it dry always. Avoid any liquid touching it and don't use pad for now cos d pad scratches it.

What! Methylated spirit? Na die be dat na!

Goldenheart002, so sorry dear for the pains. I understand the feeling very well as i had a similar experience with my 1st. It wouldnt even let you bond properly with your baby. Mine healed by wk 8.
Obviously the cut isn't healing properly. Go back to the hosp and have them look at it. If it's infected, they will give you antibiotics.
-if you are in much pains, they should give you some analgesic. Pains can affect one's mental health post partum.
- resume sitz bath with warm water(slightly hotter than warm). Add dettol/salt inside. Sit in it for up to 20mins.
- take vit c to aid wound healing.
Whenever you use the loo, wash with warm water that has antiseptic in it.
- keep the area dry, i guess lochia has stopped but of not, then change pad often.
-quit looking at it often. It will heal by secondary intention and may take as much as 8wks or longer to heal completely but it will heal. Godspeed
- for the constipation, there's this leaf called utazi by the igbos, it's bitter and used in making peppersoup, if you can, add it to your peppersoup and some foods. It's a stool softner especially during post partum. Take lots of fluid as well.

For best results, dose of antibiotics are calculated based on weight of the baby and not arbitrarily. It's given twice daily

For all the mamas asking if it’s Riconia, I really don’t know. I can only remember that the medicine has a long neck like astymin bottle and it’s in a white carton and produced by Ranbaxy too.
The thing is that it’s nice and not too expensive.

It's definitely Riconia.

My Birth Story
Where do i start? The pregnancy was not expected. Withdrawal failed and emergency contraceptive equally failed and i found out i was pregnant. Hmm! Devastated will be an understatement but i later forged ahead, the pregnancy was so different from all i have ever felt before which made me think it was going to be a princess but alas, it was a prince.
My first 3 sons i had them on or before 38wks so you can imagine my shock when 39weeks met me and labour wasn't happening, meanwhile i had started my leave. I kept taking long walks and doing exercises but labour refused to come instead cramps knew me by name.

So on Monday the 26th, i went to the office for ippis verification, when i came back i noticed my BH had increased but i ignored it. By 11pm, i noticed it had a pattern and was regular, 1 in 10mins and was getting slightly painful so i told my hubby who started dancing while i was anxious recalling the laborious road of labour. I tried to sleep but adrenaline was high, by 1am of 27th, i knew i was in for the real deal. By 3am, it has progressed to 1 in5mins and i told my hubby it was time to head to the hospital. After the whole admission process by around 3:45am, i saw show and when i was examined, the doctor said i was in 7cm. When the pain hits, my hubby will rub my waist and i will walk around but they later strapped me to the ctg machine so i had to lie down by force which was pure torture. I bore the pains well by the mouth breathing technique. Everyone kept encouraging me and by 6:45am, i was fully dilated then devil came to put hand.

The matron in charge brought a student midwife that she will take my delivery cos there were many emergencies that morning. The student knew next to nothing. She couldnt even pass catheter into me to drain urine, kept poking me and injuring me in the process. She kept fighting with the ctg machine and will always want to check me while i'm undergoing contraction. I was in 10cm for 1hr 30mins, contractions were coming but not strong enough to give me that pushing urge. At this stage i knew i was in real trouble, i kept telling the student that she needed to augment with oxytocin that has been the practice with my other kids. My contractions usually wane at pushing stage. She kept talking rubbish, when i couldnt take it again started shouting for the doctor and matron to come that i dont want that lady near me. I needed someone that can take decision. The doctor came and examined me and said theres no way d baby can come out cos the head is now transverse so hes no longer coming out with “ogor" so they should give me oxytocin to facilitate things that i have suffered enough. I started crying cos i have been telling the student for over an hour, if only she met her superiors i would have long delivered.

Well, just like a dream the nurse that took my delivery for my 3rd resumed duty and our eyes met, i knew my sufferings were close to an end. She came greeted me, prayed with me and set the correct drops because the student had put the oxytocin but with the wrong drop so i was still not having strong contractions. Immediately, the angel nurse took over my care, the pushing contractions came in its might. With one long victorious killer push from me, my prince came out screaming his lungs out. He gave me a tear but i was now pain free. He weighed 3.25kg. I was overwhelmed with emotions and kept crying, God came through for me using the angel nurse. The tear was repaired after an hour imagine! The doctor just forgot about me. In another hour the team for post partum iucd came and inserted iucd for me. I asked for it during antenatal cos this is where i draw the curtains after 7yrs of meritorious service in child birth.

NB: pls waddling mothers pls pray for those that will take your delivery. Very very important! I wish all March mamas the very best and porters from february and April. I equally want to thank all mamas here for the support, the likes, the well wishes and calls. May the Almighty locate you at the point of your needs. Amen!

Recovery has been great, we were discharged yesterday. The END
