I agree. This keeps happening even among educated peeps. During my service year, we lost a midwife due to uterine rupture. She had a pervious scar, doctor told her to come for a second CS but pastor said otherwise. Her uterus ruptured in the prayer house b4 she could be rushed to the hospital, she gave up. Her hubby is a nurse too.
Sad! Very sad! There ought to be enlightenment campaign, radio jingles and the rest.

So something has been bugging me for sometime now,
Is it compulsory for the site where BCG is given to form abscess and leave a scar??

My son is 4yrs and no sign of anything so I told a doctor and we were asked to take a mantle test, which was negative.

I was told at the hospital, that sometimes d vaccine isn't given properly(can you imagine!!!) ,they said he can take the BCG again.

Don't know if I should just ignore it since his older, because I'm scared there might be side effects.

Please share your thoughts.

Pls go ahead and give him the BCG again. Since the mantoux is negative that shows he has no antibodies against TB. Theres no side effect. I retook BCG when i entered university as my mantoux read negative too. Delay is dangerous. cheers

Faithfully take the analgesic prescribed for you.
Do your sitz bath at least twice a day.
Wash with warm water whenever you do no1 or 2
Sit on a hard stool and close your legs. ( dont know if this works but so i was taught. Probably old wives tales)

My ppl pls I have come again help a FTM, I noticed ds has not being peeing the way he does before. On Saturday afternoon I wanted to change his diaper after like 6 hrs and I was surprised to see the diaper still dry, Sunday morning too when I wanted to remove it it wasn't the normal heavy diaper we remove in the mornings. It was a little bit better yesterday, as I type now I checked his diaper and it's still dry since 10am that he's been wearing it has anyone experienced this? Between Saturday and today he has pooed twice.

The weather is damn hot and one is likely to get dehydrated from it. Have you noticed how concentrated our urine is these days. Pls breastfeed your baby often since you are doing EBF. You should equally take alot of water/fluid to meet baby's need as well. Keep an eye on his fontanelle (that area that breathes on his head), make sure it's not sunken. Cheers

So I noticed slight swelling on my feet yesterday, but I dismissed it ... Only for it to increase in 4 times it size today. I was glad I had escape the swollen feet. Please how did the sabi mama's cope with the swollen feet and pains. Laying on bed is so uncomfortable for me

You don't have to change it as long as its still good and not malfunctioning. You are very lucky you know. Even when it starts showing signs of been bad, you can always give it to your Electrician to charge and it will still serve another couple of months.

I have been using my current battery since oct 2011. I'm even scared of the battery. It's a wonder to me, it's a saving grace to my neighbours and collegues that need to jump start their cars. I dont even know the name but it's a korean battery.

I was given Clavulist(mixture of amoxycillin and clavulinic acid) and doxycycline.

I didn't even know it was so serious. I only stopped taking them for one day.

Yea! It's the same thing as augmentin. If you stopped for just one day you can resume it but if for more, the doctor should change you to another. Cheers

Hello house, please I need advice.

I went for an evacuation procedure on Monday to remove any remnants of placenta from inside and I was given antibiotics and painkillers. The antibiotics was just to prevent infections from the procedure.

I noticed on the second day of taking the antibiotics that my babies stooling seemed to have increased to like 6 times a day from about three times before I started the antibiotics.

I checked online and sure enough the info there said that antibiotics makes babies have diarrhea.

I stopped the drugs immediately to avoid harming him. So yesterday I started feeling pains on my lower pelvis and I dunno what the cause was. I really hope it isn't an infection due to my stopping the drugs.

Please if anyone has any alternative precautions I can take to prevent infections which does not affect babies I would really appreciate your replies. Thanks.

You shouldnt have stopped, the stool would have evened out. I guess you were given augmentin and flagyl. Pls call your doctor and suggest cefuroxime, it doesnt cause diarrhoea as much as augmentin. Evacuation is not a small thing, it's an invasive procedure so you need urgent antibiotic cover. All the best

Yes. Dr will order a scan for you at 36weeks to know the situation of things but if it's just baby's position, he can detect that by palpation. This one we are worrying, it's possible baby has turned cephalic self. I usually know when mine has turned from where i feel the hiccups. If i feel it down then it's head down.
You can google the forward inversion just for extra info. Relax ok.

Try going on all fours with your head bent down! This helps tilt the uterus and gives baby room to move, hopefully he/she will enter cephalic position before due date.

Yea! This helped me in my last pregnancy. It's called forward inversion.

I wont advise anyone to do external cephalic version. The major complication is the cord forming a tight knot round the baby, either strangulating or cutting off blood supply to the baby.
I read an account of a doctor that couldnt forgive himself for doing ECV and the baby died. He did it the first time and just before the woman left the hosp, the baby had turned back to head up. He wasnt comfortable doing it again but he did and this time the baby stayed down. In 2days time, the woman came back with complaint of reduced movt lo and behold the baby had died in utero. The cord was found knotted and tight round the neck.

Yes o! God is faithful. My shopping is 80% complete. Baby can come as from 38weeks but not before then mbok. I'm not yet mentally prepared and i keep remembering the pains of labour. May God make it smooth and easy for us all.

Probably your doctor is suspecting the back pain is your body preparing for labour so it's safer to remove the cerclage now than when you are in full blown labour. I think by 36weeks you are already term for multiple.
