Ijogz K: Gay Oshi!!! If u get se.xually aroused by ordinary music videos den u av a problem and need medical attention. Even R13 muvees in d USA now have scenes with nudity..So because America does it, it is right. My bible is my standard young man. And the bible mentions that in the last days, men will love wrong and hate right. So you are saying it is right that America allows 13 year old kids to watch films with nudity? If Godliness and consciousness of God is 11th century sef, i rather stick to my 11th century kinda ideas. Eternity is for real my friend. This life does not end here. The body ends here but the Spirit continues on a journey of eternal glory or condemnation. What does it profit a man to gain the world and lose his soul. |
Ada Nri1: and you couldn't even spell the linking verb correctly. All in haste! SmhSince when did "to" become a verb Oga Johnny English. Remove the log in your eyes joor. |
I am just wondering why all the news and sympathy has been focused on only 2 out of the 6 occupants in the Helicopter. This has shown once again the mentality of Nigerians and the huge class divide. Leaders use every event as an opportunity to play politics and get heard. Even Bayelsa Governor did not mention the pilots or aides when he was crying at the mortuary. How do we think the families of these 4 men would feel now? The most I have read about the pilots is how they got down to greet their passengers and how neatly dressed they were? I am sure they had dreams, friends. The press should do the right thing and extol these men too. They died serving Nigeria and the ones making the news presently. |

http://gma.yahoo.com/nurse-hoaxed-queens-call-found-dead-145123666--abc-news-topstories.html The hospital receptionist who was hoaxed by a prank call from a DJ claiming to be the queen asking about Kate Middleton has been found dead. "It is with very deep sadness that we confirm the tragic death of a member of our nursing staff," the hospital said in a statement released today. The nurse was identified as Jacintha Saldanha. The hospital said that Saldanha worked at the hospital for more than four years. They called her a "first-class nurse" and "a well-respected and popular member of the staff." "We can confirm that Jacintha was recently the victim of a hoax call to the hospital," the statement said. "The hospital had been supporting her throughout this difficult time." The hospital extended their "deepest sympathies" to family and friends, saying that "everyone is shocked" at this "tragic event." "She will be greatly missed," the hospital said. Earlier this week, the hospital fell for a prank call from an Australian radio show where the hosts pretended to be Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Charles looking to speak to Kate Middleton, who had been admitted to the hospital for her pregnancy. The call was put through to a second nurse who told the royal impersonators that Kate was "quite stable" and hadn't "had any retching." Saldanha was the nurse who transferred the impersonators to the second nurse who gave information about Kate's condition. "The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are deeply saddened to learn of the death of Jacintha Saldanha," a spokesman from St. James Palace said in a statement. "Their Royal Highnesses were looked after so wonderfully well at all times by everybody at King Edward VII Hospital, and their thoughts and prayers are with Jacintha Saldanha's family, friends and colleagues at this very sad time," the statement said. Police were called to an address near the hospital at about 9:35 a.m. GT today to "reports of a woman found unconscious," according to a statement from Scotland Yard. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. "Inquiries continue to establish the circumstances of the incident. Next of kin have been informed," the statement said. Circumstances of the death being investigated, but are not suspicious at this stage, according to police. The duchess spent three days at the hospital undergoing treatment for hyperemesis gravidarum, severe or debilitating nausea and vomiting. She was released from the hospital on Thursday morning. The Tuesday morning prank call came from Australian DJ's Mel Greig and Michael Christian. They impersonated the royals, complete with exaggerated accents. They even enlisted two co-workers to bark like the queen's pet corgis. The Sydney radio station, 2DayFM, could not be immediately reached for comment. The Twitter accounts of both radio personalities have been deactivated, but it is unknown when the accounts were shut down. The DJ's are being heavily criticized on Twitter, with many people calling for them to resign or be fired. The queen impersonator asked for her granddaughter and was promptly transferred to another hospital employee. "I'm just after my granddaughter, Kate. I want to see how her little tummy bug is going," the radio host said, suppressing laughter. "She's sleeping at the moment, and she has had an uneventful night and sleep is good for her," the nurse said. "She's been getting some fluids to rehydrate her because she was quite dehydrated when she came in, but she's stable at the moment." The fake royals went on to ask when would be a good time to visit and were told that "anytime after 9 o'clock would be suitable." "She's quite stable at the moment. She hasn't had any retching ... since I've been on duty. And she has been sleeping on and off. I think it's difficult sleeping in a strange bed as well," the nurse said. The hospital apologized for the mistake. "The call was transferred through to a ward, and a short conversation was held with one of the nursing staff," the hospital said in a statement. "King Edward VII's Hospital deeply regrets this incident." "This was a foolish prank call that we all deplore," John Lofthouse, the hospital's chief executive, said in the statement. "We take patient confidentiality extremely seriously, and we are now reviewing our telephone protocols." The radio station has since apologized for the prank call. "2Day FM sincerely apologizes for any inconvenience caused by the inquiry to Kate's hospital. The radio segment was done with lighthearted intentions," the station said in a statement. "We were very surprised that our call was put through. We thought we'd be hung up on as soon as they heard our terrible accents," the radio hosts said in the statement. "We're very sorry if we've caused any issues, and we're glad to hear that Kate is doing well. We wish Kate and her family all the best." ABC News' Bruno Roeber contributed to this report. |

The purpose of nairaland is to discuss issues that affects us as Nigerians. All these talk about the OP being a law breaker is unwarranted. I am not perfect and so is Mr Fashola. But this is not about persons but about laws and institutions that will outlive us here on earth. We need to get it right and I am of the opinion that the "don't" of the new law is okay but the "if you do" is toooo harsh in several cases like some posters have mentioned here. If LASG is not careful, people would be right to say the laws enacted are all about making money and filling the pockets of Godfather and party loyalists. I still see commercial vehicles parking on roadsides and using oneway unchallenged by Lastma officials around. But if a car owner should attempt such, he probably gets arrested on the spot. This kain animal farm law will only make a few richer at the cut throat expense of others. And yet some are here blindly supporting the penalties of the new laws. Or maybe like a poster said, they are beneficiaries and cronies of the animal farm govt. |

I strongly believe LASG needs to take another look at the methods being used by it's employees to enforce the law as well as the several Gadafi like penalties for breaking the numerous laws. |
I was in my office when the gate man came to call me that there was something happening downstairs. On stepping out to the balcony,I saw a truck driving off with metal plates that we use for writing vacant positions in the building. I learnt they were LASAA officials and I wondered if they had the right to take away such materials being used by an office complex to make unemployed youths know when there is vacancy. The writings are not printed but written with chalk and the metal board is placed next to the security post. I also learnt that LASG is planning to seize cars parked by the roadside even if its in front of your House. I think its about time we challenge all these unfair seizure and outright extortion of citizens by Government in court. The laws being enacted in Lagos as well meaning as they may seem have penalties that I consider excessive and unjust. Forfeiting your car to LASG for plying one way route is another example. Wetin?! Please lawyers and legal experts. How can these penalties be challenged. |
nex: I can understand D'Prince, he has not one single artistic bone in his body. "my money wey dey ooze like chuku chuku". That is pure idiocy, but I really don't care.Drinks and Chopper not similar. Flying is the comparison. Its weak right but still a metaphor. |

ItsModella: Puh-lease!!! Granted, a lot of music these days lack substance but I know a good one when I hear/see one. Point of correction, I am not judging Tonto Decay, I am airing my opinion on her music and attitude. I think there is a difference. So criticizing someone's music can bring repercussions on me directly or indirectly? Abeg, tell that to the next m0r0n.I don't know what you said about her before now but right above you clearly JUDGE and CONDEMN her by changing her name from Dike to Decay. How would you like to be called Decay? |

I heard a new song on the radio last week and i wondered if people have any respect for the church again. I wonder if we fear God again. Yes,the Church may have been stained by some events over the years but we operate a covenant of grace and mercy. We may have Pastors and their family who are not living right but that doesn't justify someone doing a dirty song and tagging it Omo pastor. I heard a part where he said omo pastor is dating the deacon and many other thrash. Guy, fear God. You have just sowed a terrible seed with a talent given to you by the same creator. I hope Christians will speak against this. The office of the Pastor/Bishop is to be respected not dishonored like Ajebutter has(had to Google his name). And all he will have on his mind is,"i want to be commercial". Commercial and you are ridiculing the house of God. At what expense? Your soul? Nigerian artistes have to watch it. Some music industries have been in existence before ours and i have never heard American artistes singing to ridicule their Men of God. |

@ Seun and MODs. How exactly does a topic like this get moved from celebrities section to Jokes. We are talking about real life patterns of celeb comedians and you move it to Jokes? This topic has serious fundamental implications and I think moving it to front page will make it get addressed by a wider range of audience. Especially with the recent happenings in the muslim world. Are christian comedians supposed to tease and diss christianity because they know christians won't react? |
https://www.nairaland.com/1045778/us-ambassador-killed-libya-consulate This has got to be the reason. Fear of being.....hmmmmm. |
rash47: GBAM GBAM, perfect response to charade of fools. 1000 LIKESThe issue is not being addressed guys. The question is simple. Why do comedians yab pastors and the church but they never tease or yab Imams and Islam? No need to yab or curse? We have seen AY in white garment teasing pastors of such Churches over and over. Why hasn't he ever tried being "creative" with the Imams or "elehas"? |
It became trendy with AY's constant teasing of Pst Okotie of Household of God with the Latter present at some of such shows and conceding to it by laughing and allowing it to pass. Stand up comedians have turned Pastors to their punchline going as far as naming the particular pastor at times. These comedians tease the church and its beliefs like tithing, offering, healing, deliverance yet bible believing Christians are the first to buy their tickets when the show is coming up. However, i have observed they never misyarn or say anything negative about Islam. Is it because they feel Christians operate the law of life where mercy and grace abounds but the Muslim counterparts are more responsive to any sort of perceived blasphemy against their religion? Are they afraid of having some fanatic muslim group hear such jokes? Someone should please explain why our comedians are more afraid of men that can take life here but cannot destroy the soul? Yet they are obviously willing to take the risk with the one who can destroy the life here and beyond. |
INTERVIEW WITH K-STICKS (MUSIC DIRECTOR OF DAYSTAR CHOIR) Tell us about yourself. Who is K-Sticks? My names are Pinmiloye Olukunle Joshua, but everybody knows me as K-Sticks. My wife’s name is Bunmi and she is called B-Sticks. I see the drum as a medium of expression. Drumming is something I was sent to this world to do. I was given the name K-Sticks some years ago in Obafemi Awolowo University and it’s stuck since then. Even my students in Ife call me Mr. K-Sticks. My siblings have stopped calling me Kunle (the name my father gave me) and they call me K-Sticks. Most of my choir members don’t know my surname. I am drummer; a musicologist. I had a certificate course from the University of Ife which was my first attempt. I had my ABRSM – Association Board of Royal School of Music, London. I did a degree course in music (BA) which enabled me to become the first drummer to major in drums. I am the Music director of Daystar Choir. I am the first drummer to major in drums for my first degree after which I did my Masters. Going for a doctorate degree (PhD) was a challenge. There was nobody to teach me, or supervise me. There is a missing gap; no lecturer of drum...................................... http://nobeeffect.com/roots/daystar-choir-healing-stream-of-god/ |
