Are you in Kafanchan? Very simple question
my wife left Kafanchan' on 6/1/2022 after attending a wedding ceremony and that the only tarred portion of the road is less than 1 kilometer. So show us the pictures of the roads commissioned in Kafanchan' that is more that a kilometer. I hope you know how far a less than 1 kilometer is. If the President will go and commission a tarred road less that a kilometer what will a local Government chairman commission?

Southerner are you in Kafanchan? Is it the same roads they would show you the pictures and you would start blaming the colour of the coal tar or the positioning of the street lights all in a quest to find something wrong to say about it.

Nwokem face your own state. Several of our states are suffering with zero government impact from the governors. Demand for accountability from those ones and not the ones we are seeing their progressive works in living colour
The question is very simple, show us the pictures of roads he commissioned in Kafanchan', all the road pictures in your write up are in Kaduna not even one is from Kafanchan'. I am waiting.

President Muhammadu Buhari paid a two-day working visit to Kaduna last week. He arrived the Kaduna International Airport on the night of Wednesday, January the 19th, 2022, straight from the Gambia. He had gone to the Gambia to witness the swearing in of President Adama Barrow for a second term in office.

The President was in the state to commission projects in Kaduna City, Zaria and Kafanchan. He was received at the airport by Governor Nasir El-Rufai and senior officials of the Kaduna State Government.
Which roads did he commissioned in Kafanchan'? Show us the pictures if what you are saying is true.

I referred him to a message preached on the topic and as you know, pastor did not write his own Bible but rather he made reference to scriptures in the Bible.
Also, giving him scriptures might not help much as he may not understand until some breaks it down
The best reference is the Bible, many pastors have different views concerning the topic under discussion and a pastor's preaching may depend on his sentiment. Dont be surprised to see a message preached by another pastor with Biblical references that contradict what pastor Chris had preached. Is better you give him scriptures from the Bible and understanding of the Bible is not only given to pastors. The Holy spirit is there to teach everyone who is seeking for understanding

Makes slot of sense.

Now, i suppose the fact that Dangote is building a private refinery means the field is open to private participation. This begs the question- why aren't these private players springing up everywhere yet? Is it that the conditions are too stringent or the financial requirements for establishing oil companies are just unattainable?

Something isn't right somewhere.
why private players were not springing up in the case of refineries is because of price control by Government in the form of subsidy. The cost of production is higher than the subsidized price. There is no sense in building a private refinery and produce a litter of fuel at N300 for instance and sell at N145 Government control price. Dangote will not do that either, but you see Dangote building the biggest refinery in the world and how will he make profit? The answer is Government has already planned to remove subsidy so that people like Dangote will sell fuel at the true market price and make profit. Don't you see how the planned removal of subsidy coincide with when Dangote is about to start fuel production? I want to believe that an agreement was reached on the removal of subsidy for him to build such a huge refinery.

But even if Government will not remove subsidy at the end of the day ,it means that Government will buy fuel from Dangote at the true market price and subsidize for the citizens

angry

I feel super irritated whenever I hear the name NNPC. That place is nothing but a fortress of mindless corruption and grand larceny.

If this country is incapable of running a state owned oil corporation as do Russia and the big players in the MidEast, they should scrap the damn thing or privatize it.

To this day, it beats me why privatization hasn't worked with NEPA, NNPC and other such state owned businesses as it did telecoms.

Something is definitely wrong somewhere.
what is wrong is that the privatization of NEPA and NNPC did not follow the same method as that of Telecom. What happened in the case of Telecom is not privatization but deregulation, licenses were sold to the private players to establish their own telecommunication systems there by expanding the industry NITEL was not sold to them, rather licences were sold to them. In the case of NEPA instead of government to sell licences to private players to build their own power systems from scratch, government sold part of NEPA to the private players this is what make the difference.

The main problem was that she didn't give him money. Why would you marry a guy if you dont trust him with money?

What she called emotional and verbal abuse sounds like they were fighting but she wanted to make herself the sole victim. The husband should have handled it better. He is not entitled to her money. But I think the lady contributed more to the failure of her marriage than she realizes.

She speaks of trying to get him to aspire higher which means she was not satisfied with his professional and financial status. So why marry him if his level was not high enough for you? She could have just given him money from time to time like most men who are richer than their wives tend to do.
Don't encourage men to be lazy. A man who cannot take care of his family is worse than an infidel

Aidejay:
Ask which states generated the VAT now, you will not see Kano and kaduna in top 10. Infact the entire north west no go dey top 15.
this problem of VAT is more complex than many of us think, if you say Kano and Kaduna do not generate a reasonable amount of VAT I will say you are wrong. If you take the population of these 2 states and the goods they consumed into consideration, you will see that they contribute a lot. Many of the goods especially manufactured goods consumed in these states come from the South and people from Kano or Kaduna pay VAT when they consume these goods from the south, unfortunately the VAT is not remitted from the states where the goods are consumed but in the state where the goods are produced. If VAT should be remitted from the state the goods are consumed then we will know exactly how each state contribute. Now take the banking sector, when a customer in Kano or Kaduna enters the banking hall and transact business he or she pays VAT but the headquarters of the bank is in Lagos where the VAT paid by customers from Kano and Kaduna are remitted from because the headquarters of the banks are in Lagos. Let look at the oil sector, Mobil will drill oil from Bayelsa and sell in the international market and remit taxes from Lagos because the head office is in Lagos instead of remitting the taxes from Bayelsa state where the oil was drilled. Dangote products are heavily consumed in the North and VAT is paid by the consumers yet Dangote remit his VAT from Lagos where his head office is situated. I see Northern states demanding bank branches to remit VAT accrued from the respective Northern states to the state Government and not to Lagos state where the bank headquarters are situated likewise with other goods and services. I may be wrong but this is what I see from a layman perspective.

Why cant the dss leave Sunday igboho to the police and deal with the fulani killers?

Which is a bigger threat between killers and someone calling for secession? Non one will even listen to secessionists if the government do the right thing? Did anyone call for secession during Obasanjos regime?
According to the acts establishing the Police and the SSS, Igboho is to be handled by the SSS and Police to handle killer herdsmen that is what the laws say. It is not for the agencies to decide what they want to handle but what the laws say they should handle. If you want SSS to handled killer herdsmen the law or act establishing the SSS must be amended. Igboho's crime is against the state while the crime perpetrated by the killer herdsmen is against individuals . Violent secession is a crime against the state and must be be confronted by the DSS. Any secession outside laid down democratic means is a crime against the state.

So mass murdering of people in Benue and plateau and displacement of people from their land by foreign fulani invaders is not a threat to the state?

Sunday igboho came about as a result of these killers. So why tackle Sunday igboho and leave the terrorists?
In that case the Police is to tackle the killings by the fulanis if they are Nigerians while the DSS tackle Igboho and if the fulanis are foreign invaders then it is the military that should confront them while the DSS act at the background providing intelligence to the military to deal with the foreign fulanis. The security sector is structured in such a way that every agency knows it's jurisdiction, however, there could be some forms of collaboration but not one agency taking over the duty of the other and that is why you will never see the DSS or the military going after armed robbers but the Police except if the Police call for assistance.

Boko and co and roaming free but we don't see them....

We know what's happening in Benue, Jos , Kaduna and Niger state of recent, but we don't see them.....

I rest my case
crimes and security threats are classified into different groups that is why a country has different security outfits each to handle a particular threat. That is why you can not see SSS in the handling of every security threats. You rightly mentioned Nnamdi Kanu, Igboho and Bihari opposition I want to think you are referring to EndSARS protest , these are all threats against the state that is why you see the SSS in the fire front. As for banditary and what is happening in Benue state as well as activities of killer herdsmen you will not see the SSS in the fore front because such threats are not threats against the state as such SSS work at the background by providing intelligence to agencies created to handle such threats like the Police

you can't know what they do because the law establishing them prohibit them from publishing their intelligence but to send it directly and secretly to the president who will then take action by directing appropriate agencies of government to act base on the intelligence provided.

Frankly speaking, I have been wondering about the usefulness of all these intelligence agencies, DSS, NIA, DMI etc, what do they do?

Where is the intelligence when terrorists will write communities ahead of their operations and still carry out their operations smoothly without hinderance, where is the intelligence when hundreds of children will be kidnapped, tortured at will and nothing happens thereafter!

Peter Afunanya wrote a long epistle but still fails to answer the basic question: what exactly does the DSS do?
The SSS provides intelligence to government and other government agencies. you said "where is the intelligence when hundreds of children will be kidnapped, tortured at will and nothing happens thereafter!" was there anytime the Government complained that intelligence was not given to them on any particular threat? in many cases when they provide the intelligence to the political class factors like tribal, religious and political affiliation will not allow the political class to take the necessary action. For example the SSS may provide intelligence on a planned attack by boko haram but the government may decide not to direct the military to do the needful. The SSS provides the intelligence but they are not the ones to confront the boko haram in battle and the military will not confront the boko haram without being given the go ahead by the Government and if such attacks happen you will blame the SSS and the military leaving the political class that was supposed to give the final directive.
