SOZINN:
I missed a lot of top tier flicks in 2023, honestly. 28 movie marathon. Enjoyment orgasm.

Added 7 new flicks with a little help from metacritic and I've only seen 3 from the first 28. Lol.

A24 gave us bangers in 2023 for real.

armadeo:
Thank you for your service. We appreciate your sacrifice.

Honestly.

John Wick Chapter Four (2023) - 50%

Might as well play a video game for two hours.

Past Lives (2023) - 80%

First good movie I watched in 2024.

No Hard Feelings (2023) - 70%

Didn't expect to like it but I did. Though the movie's plot is generic, it succeeded in making me laugh, which is its main goal. Jennifer Lawrence is incredibly versatile.

REBEL MOON (2023) - 40%

When a film has a skilled director behind the camera, you can tell because different parts of the film will evoke different feelings in you as you watch it. I felt nothing at all for any of the characters in this shit, not even a passing concern. There's nothing here, even comedy is absent. The flaws in his action sequences were made evident by the excessive use of slow motion, which also degraded the overall experience.

The plot is non existent, and the dialogue sounds like something GPT-3 threw up during the beta test. There is nothing particularly remarkable about the cinematography; I have seen it combined with excellent storytelling in the past. Superb casting, but nothing challenging for any of them to do. After waiting for this mess to be resolved, dude brings the antagonist back to life and expects me to return for a follow-up so I can watch his ass get kicked again.

This anime fans don take over trade na wa. Now u have to navigate many pages to get good recommendations

Click on report, then enter any number in the search box and hit send. The entire message will vanish, and you will not see it again if you return to the page in the future.

Warrior Season 2 - 70%
Not as interesting as the first season.

Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning Part One (2023) - 75%

Generic but still nicely done, I will definitely come back to see how it ends.

The Killer (2023) - 45%

The movie felt like I was reading an assassin's journal, yet it still managed to be absolutely dull. This shambles of a film has no true plot, and much of the runtime is wasted on scenes that add nothing to the overall storyline. I usually watch these kind of movies for the action sequences because I don't anticipate much from the plot, but this crap doesn't deliver on either front. An irredeemable mess.

abduleez1:
SOZINsN how market??
You were saying??

The Marvels opening way higher and still getting dog walked in two weekends.
I already told ya, Xmas season works very different.

Enjoy your victory.

Baddestguyp:
Dune part 2
Deadpool 3
Joker 2

I couldn't care less about the other movies on the list

Still anticipating Deadpool 3 with your superhero fatigue.

100naira:
how good is Three Thousand Years of Longing?

yay or meh?

65%

Illusioneffect:
There's definitely Marvel universe fatigue but Deadpool is not actually a Marvel universe franchise plus the intrigue of having wolverine, all the x men, an Avenger cameo and Taylor Swift is kinda enticing, don't you think.
Another factor is the Deadpool franchise has always been a special kind of marvel

You're not well informed on this subject. Sit this one out.

Baddestguyp:
Superhero Fatigue is real 🌚🌚

Deny it...run from it...but it is real

A recent fan poll on Fandango found that the most anticipated movie of 2024 is a comic book movie. I thought they were tired.

IngeniousLeez:
Don't forget the 2018 predecessor was also the lowest DCEU opening ever at the time.
Still, this is easily out-grossing THE MARVELS.

At first you thought it would make over $600 million, now you just hope it does better than The Marvels. From Shazam 2 to The Flash to Blue Beetle and now Aquaman 2. DC has taken so many L's this year it's no longer funny.

Love the headline.

Erenjp:
Thoughts on this?

2nd lowest DC opening ever.

Illusioneffect:
Watched this movies in cinemas this week
Aquaman 3/10- Glad this movie pics bombing because this movie is garbage- James Wan should just stick to horror. Dit wanted to be like a buddy comedy, all of a sudden it became a thriller- next thing it was star wars but boring.

I can even go back to when I told Abdul the same thing about James Wan and screenshot it so you can see it. I have no faith in that guy outside of horror. After several screen tests and reshoots, he still achieved a critical score of less than 40%. All jokes aside, this is bad, very bad.

Let us hope so.

joseph1832:
no mind that guy. When the Marvels bomb like dem take bomb WTC, we no see am oh. E show say him just dey wait for Aquaman make him make comment.

I sha believe say no matter how Aquaman 2 worse reach, e no go worse reach The Marvels.

Hold that thought.

Why our MCU brothers dey avoid this thread na??

Sozin, I sight you. No need to run.
Hulk16 how market??

“The Marvels” was an L that I had anticipated since the film was announced.
Failures like this are what Disney needs every once in a while. I just wish most of it would happen outside of the MCU. No problem, this month is reserved for MCU fans. We'll smile again when Aquaman 2 turns out to be an even bigger failure.

This is where the problem lies promoting mediocrity.

What's wrong if nollywood catches up with the world stage why shut out the rest of the world so we can only see the crapfest that is here.

They've been some nigerian movies and series produced these days that are surprising for me. Not highly rated but interesting to watch.

If they can do that they can do more and better.

Well said.

David Fincher and Michael Fassbender. You're very welcome.

Work of art.

Lol.

Truly iconic.

Not quite what I was hoping for.

This is funny.

I hope they don't mess this up.
