However, there are some information that we cannot share with you because of the lives of those children you claim to love. No matter how little the NPOWER stipend may be, it is still highly commendable considering the amount of people that will be paid every month. This is a kind of thing that would not be possible under some other kind of leaders. The huge money that will be disbursed every month would have been embezzled by some unscrupulous fellows. This is a thumbs up to the government.
Don't mind them. Corpers are surviving on just 19k per month. There are graduates in private schools that are earning 15k per month. Imagine in a state like Ondo that have about 6000 participants. That is about 180 million naira going into the state economy. This will no doubt boost the economy of the state as purchasing power of the people will drastically improved. Their problem with the scheme is that they had jubilated early when the programme was still at the planning stage and because of the cash crunch.

My argument is that with the scheme like this, people will be more loyal and patriotic to the country.
PoliticsRe: FG Releases N388Billion To 17 States (See Full List) by sparrowkid: 8:16am On Jan 08, 2017
It's a pity that nobody bothers to ask for the source of this money. Afterall, Paris Club and London club debts were settled by Obasanjo's administration. Our governors who devoured the excess crude account could not have known of the existence of this repaid fund without tearing the federal government to shreds in order to have their shares of the fund.

How can a whole nation paid more than it's owing? The reasonable explanation is that this money has been there since; known and enjoyed only by very few people in the presidency. Another one is that it was probably exposed by the tsa. Quite frankly, going by Nigerian standards, this money should have gone the ways of others ordinarily. This is exactly why one must know that something good is happening up there. If this one was also embezzled just like others, we wouldn't even feel it because we aren't aware of its existence in the first place. We just hope the governors would behave responsibly with it so that we can at least bring back our economy. God bless Nigeria.

Now the price of tomatoes no longer matters. However, exactly this time last year, tomato was one of the criteria used in condemning this same administration. Lest we forget, 4 pieces of tomatoes was selling for N500 according to some people. Now that a whole basket of tomatoes which rose up to N25,000 at some point last year is now selling for N1500, it doesn't matter again. Do we have to look for the definition of hypocrisy any longer?

When good things happen, "na their hero cause am". On the other hand, when the opposite happens, "na Buhari and those who voted for him must be axed". Sometimes I wonder how cruel can some people be.

We could all remember the brouhaha that followed pegging the oil price to $38 in the 2016 budget even when oil price was sold at $30. Despite the government saying that they have consulted wide, some "emergency economic experts" were all over the space telling us that it was impossible. But at the end, since the end of February this year, oil price never sold below $38.

Majority of the so-called "experts" have never come up to say that they were wrong. They should apologize to us because it was on the basis of their wrong postulations that some people were attacking the budget team. The moral of the story is that we should not because of primordial interest condemn the work of the others. We may be wrong and they may be right.

God bless my dear country.
PoliticsRe: Mimiko Calls INEC To Shift Election In Press Conference Held Today by sparrowkid: 2:37pm On Nov 25, 2016
The press conference should have been titled: Mimiko declares war on Inec and the people of Ondo State. The press conference is a coded way of giving go ahead to his thugs to forment trouble tomorrow. Looking at him from the press conference, it's glaring that he is definitely aware that tomorrow is not one of his victory days.

Ondo State people, be warned. Your governor has said he cannot guarantee your safety in tomorrow's election. "Ola a ro ki olomo kilo fun omo e".

PoliticsRe: Ondo: Appeal Court Reserves Judgment On Makarfi’s Motion by sparrowkid:
The coast is now cleared for APC. The contest is now between APC (Aketi) and APC (Olusola Oke). Actually, the game plan is to field two APC candidates against Mimiko's PDP. All those talks about APC primaries shenanigans are just what it is: Politics. "They" just wanted to remove Mimiko's PDP from Ondo State completely and that is why two candidates of the same party are fielded against PDP alone. If you doubt me, ask Olusola Oke his membership number in AD. Almost all the members working for AD presently are aliens to the party.

The plot was actually born around 2011/2012 when Mimiko failed to key in into DAWN (Development Agenda for Western Nigeria) programmes for the South West. Mimiko is one of the reasons why the DAWN agenda failed to kickstart in the region. As at that time, only Mimiko was in LP and he was romancing with PDP then because of his re-election and the support given to Akeredolu by Asiwaju. The following link gives credence to this as he was attacked by Aregbesola during the presentation of DAWN in Lagos. Mimiko was represented at the programme by Sola Ebiseni one of his allies.

He has no federal support and presently no judge would dare take "gift" from them. So, make Mimiko chill small. He has offended "awon aye" and they are about to "da seria fun e".
PoliticsRe: Ondo: Appeal Court Reserves Judgment On Makarfi’s Motion by sparrowkid: 6:45am On Oct 29, 2016
The only reasonable thing for PDP to do is to work with Jimoh Ibrahim to win the election. It is only when PDP wins that there will be hope for Jegede when the issue of right candidacy would be resolved. Of what use is Jegede winning the appeal when PDP may lose at the polls. They should just play along with Jimoh Ibrahim and win the election to at least have the hope of still winning the appeal provided that they win at the poll. But that would be a tough task because it is not just possible for Mimiko and Jimoh Ibrahim to be on the same podium campaigning for PDP or better still Makarfi and Sheriff being on the same podium campaigning for the same candidate.

One can sense that he is trying to be in the good book of everybody. It will appear to Fayose and Wike that he is with them; so also papa George is also thinking that the guy is with them. That is a very dangerous human being to deal with since you can't predict their stand on issue.

Imagine this happening in 2014 or early 2015! I hope we have almost forgotten the power play between PDP officials and Lagos state government in the past. Gbenga Ogunlewe when he was the Minister was always undermining his state because of politics. Obanikoro came, started his own war and then they all gone into oblivion. But Lagos remains.

“We are very glad to receive this delegation. We also want to thank the Federal Government, most especially President Muhammadu Buhari for making this to happen very promptly. I want to say that this has been the quickest action that has been taken by RMAFC since I have known the Commission.

“I used to be a former Account General so I had a lot of transactions and relationship with the institution called RMAFC. Within a span of about 60 days of when we wrote our letter, and even before we wrote the letter, this technical committee was set up. It gladdens me to say that the institution works and is working for the good of Nigeria,” the Governor said.
What do we have nowadays? Lagos getting prompt attentions from the Federal Government and both the state and FG working hand in hand. That is how it suppose to be. God bless those who made this happen.

Pilgrims Paid For Forex Long Before Latest Adjustments – CBN Governor

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor, Mr Godwin Emefiele, on Tuesday said there has been an agreement with the Pilgrim’s Commission to sell the dollar at 197 Naira long before the latest adjustments.

Mr Emefiele added that the pilgrims had made advanced payments for the exercise.

The CBN had on Thursday directed banks and authorised forex dealers to sell the Pilgrims Travelling Allowance, PTA, to intending pilgrims at a concessionary exchange rate of 197 Naira to a dollar.

“Each pilgrim is entitled to purchase a minimum of $750 and maximum of $1,000 as PTA.

“The Federal Government has approved that intending pilgrims are to be sold the PTA at a concessionary exchange rate of 197 Naira to the US dollar.

“No commission shall be charged by the banks for the sale of the PTA to the intending pilgrims,” the statement read.

Hajj Forex Subsidy: CBN Defends Decision To Sell Dollar At N197 To Pilgrims

The Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Mr Godwin Emefiele has defended the decision by the apex bank to sell the Pilgrims Travelling Allowance (PTA) to intending pilgrims at a concessionary exchange rate of N197 to $1.

According to the CBN governor, the concessionary agreement was made with the National Pilgrim’s Commission (NAHCON) earlier this year, which was long before the current exchange rate adjustment.

Mr. Emefiele stressed that at the time of the agreement with NAHCON, the market exchange rate was still pegged at N197 to $1.

He further stated that the pilgrims had already made advanced payments for the exercise, as it would be unfair for the CBN to make them pay for the difference after they already had an initial agreement.

"In 2016 the Pilgrim Commission came to the Central Bank of Nigeria and we agreed that it had to be done at the market rate which at that time was N197, this was a decision reached sometime around March and April this year," Emefiele said.

"So I will think that it will be inappropriate at this time because the exchange rate has sort of adjusted that we should go back to the pilgrims and say pay the difference.

"The Central Bank of Nigeria is in business and we must respect our contracts as business people."

It will be recalled that the Apex Bank on Thursday in a memo instructed all banks and authorised forex dealers to sell the Pilgrims Travelling Allowance, to intending pilgrims at N197 to $1.

Each pilgrim is entitled to purchase a minimum of $750.00 and maximum of US$1,000.00 as PTA.

“The Federal Government has approved that intending pilgrims are to be sold the PTA at a concessionary exchange rate of N197.00 to the US dollar,” the statement said.

PoliticsMEND Replies Goodluck Jonathan by sparrowkid(op): 9:59pm On Aug 09, 2016
The Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta (MEND) has issued a press release in response to former President Goodluck Jonathan's statement on MEND in which he denied allegations that he was one of the sponsors of the Niger Delta Avengers. In it, the group claims that Mr. Jonathan's failure to address the Niger Delta's challenges led to the formation of MEND.

Read the MEND press release below:

1. The attention of the Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta (MEND) has been drawn to a statement issued by one Ikechukwu Eze, on behalf of former President Goodluck Jonathan purporting to dissociate the former President from the allegation leveled against him by the Reformed Niger Delta Avengers (RNDA) that, the former President was the Grand Patron of the Niger Delta Avengers (NDA).

2. With all due respect, the entire statement was deeply provocative and embarrassingly misconceived as it woefully failed to address the core the issue of whether or not; the former President was indeed, the Grand Patron of the NDA.

3. Rather, the statement employed diversionary Tactics which dwelt extensively on sour grapes! Any follower of events in Nigeria and the Niger Delta who was privileged to read the statement released by Mr. Jonathan would immediately observe that the former President had a score to settle with the Okah brothers as well as with MEND who have since May 30, 2014, stopped attacks on Nigeria's oil and gas assets; and are currently engaged in dialogue with the Federal Government to find sustainable ways and means of ending the festering Niger Delta crises which were exacerbated by the former President's ineptitude, incompetence and corruption during the 6years he governed the country.

4. Indeed, the problem in the Niger Delta today has nothing to do with the current Administration of President Muhammadu Buhari. Far from it! The problem is simply, the failure of Mr. Jonathan to address the root issues confronting the region when he was at the helm. Even though he was from the impoverished region; and had, by his own admission in numerous electioneering campaigns, experienced the utter poverty and abject neglect of the region foisted by successive Nigerian Governments and the International Oil Companies since the discovery of oil in 1958 at Oloibiri (a few meters away from his native Otuoke) in Bayelsa state, Mr. Jonathan disappointingly frittered away the opportunity to rescue his people when the Nigerian Presidency fortuitously landed on his laps, virtually on a platter of gold. For 6 whole years, Mr. Jonathan was busy drinking, making merry and generally chasing shadows at the State House. Such a fellow deserves to be ostracized from the assembly of reasonable men; because the Nigerian Presidency might never comeback to the Niger Delta region as cheap as it came to Mr. Jonathan; perhaps, in the next 100 years.

5. Lest we forget, MEND was at the forefront of the armed struggle back in 2006/2007 which forced the then Government of President Olusegun Obasanjo to consider the option of drafting an Ijaw into the mainstream of Nigerian politics. That was how the perpetually timid and naïve Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan became Vice President and later, President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. When he assumed the reins as President, he did the unthinkable; he tracked down perceived MEND leaders and promptly got them imprisoned on a trumped-up charge of attempt to assassinate him. Up until today, Mr. Jonathan is still suffering from an assassination paranoia complex (APC).

6. Secondly, a substantial portion of Mr. Jonathan’s statement, unfortunately, dwelt on judicial matters which are pending in various courts in Nigeria and South Africa. For instance, Mr. Henry Okah's Appeal in South Africa's Supreme Court is due for Hearing this August; while his brother, Charles' ongoing trial in Nigeria is pending before Hon. Justice Gabriel Kolawole of the Federal High Court in Abuja.

7. The former President's statement was therefore, most highly contemptuous, injurious to the credit of MEND and the Okah brothers; and, above all, prejudicial to the eventual outcome of the ongoing trials in South African and Nigerian courts, respectively. Consequently, both brothers shall, on account of the former President's prejudicial statement, institute legal action against him in South Africa and Nigeria within 60 days, commencing from today, August 9, 2016. Accordingly, they have briefed their respective Solicitors to formally engage the former President in litigation.

8. Back to the core issue. MEND cannot hold brief for the RNDA who pointedly accused Mr. Jonathan of complicity in fueling the ongoing Niger Delta crisis; and patronizing the NDA, apparently for political reasons. We are however, quick to point out the fact that, the RNDA has merely vindicated MEND's belief and conviction that, the former President and his cronies who lost the 2015 Presidential election were using the illegal and treasonable NDA platform to destabilize President Buhari's Government.

9. Finally, MEND is committed to working with the current Administration to bring peace, stability and development to the Niger Delta region. The process has since commenced with the constitution of the FEDERAL GOVERNMENT-MEND AARON TEAM 2, Dialogue, Peace and Development Initiative. Between August 22, 2016 and October 7, 2016 the AaronTeam shall embark on a tour of the Niger Delta region. The proposed tour is code-named "OPERATION MOSES." The key focus of the tour is to persuade militants to ceasefire and support President Muhammadu Buhari in his determined and sincere effort to develop the region. The tour shall also help to boost Nigeria's oil production capacity as well as improve host community relations with oil and gas companies in the country.
