Sizing of a soakaway

The length of the soakaway drains is determined by the number of bedrooms in the house and the porosity of the soil. Standard regulations states that for any house up to and including 3 bedrooms, the minimum size sewage system that can be installed is for 5 persons, with one extra person added for each extra bedroom. A 3 bedroom house requires a 5 person plant, a 4 bedroom house a 6 person plant, etc. However, all this rules are sometimes not applicable in Nigeria because a 3 bedroom bungalow here may have upto ten persons living inside. I don’t think seven days is enough for a concrete to curate and obtain a certain degree of strength, that is, if it was commissioned immediately after casting.

From my observations looking at the structural status, I think the Contractor should be held responsible for this disaster.

I just don’t want to believe it’s Y12 rods I’m seeing there. Even the broken concretes are looking uncured. They should hold the Engineer responsible and not the Governor.

I am a civil engineer and I would definitely advise you to do civil engineering.

Nigeria is a developing nation, construction going up and down, you would definitely see jobs to do.

don't worry about quacks in the building industry. most clients would still call you when their buildings and other structures start experiencing cracks.

How will they handle the contractor telling the site engineer he's in site and has not done anything since morning while you've been in site since 7am against all traffic odds cuz the contractor just called you all of a sudden those he paid to bring plaster sand couldn't make it yesterday and they will be coming in as early as 7am today. After receiving the sand, your also the stock keeper and went to check the cement you will be using for block setting and casting before the bricklayers and casters arrive all this with an empty stomach. You shuffle and multi task between supervisor the bricklayers, those casting the raft foundations , the interlockers who are laying the interlock, the technician fixing the german door and the other bricklayers doing plastering. Only for the main contractor to come and tell you your literally useless, the plastee sand is not gum enough and is wasting the cement, the iron benders , electricians and plumbers didn't finish their work before you allow casting, the interlock they mould yesterday with 12 bags of cements ought to be 1500 PCs why didn't you count it?? They have not started laying the interlock of building 12 and we are handing over by Wednesday, tell me what have you been doing since morning.

You give a person too much power and space in your life when you allow an experience with them cause you to make blanket generalisations or decisions that stop you from living a full life.

So many people are moving about with weighty emotional baggage, unable to start and sustain meaningful relationships.

When a relationship ends, for whatsoever reason, give yourself time to heal. Be intentional about moving on. Don't ignore your feelings. For everytime you're moved to cry, please cry. You'll miss them, very normal. Think about what went wrong and be truthful to yourself. Feel your feelings. Forgive if they were the ones who did you dirty. Hard, but you must.

I commend the OP for taking the time to create awareness about the terrible state of public schools in Akwa Ibom.

I will like to work with the Poster to begin our intervention and increased awareness through the auspices of ‘Ibom Arise Movement’ on the terrible situation children and young people are subjected to in a state where there’s abundance of resources.

Of the truth the Government led by Udom has failed these young people.
