dukeprince50: infrastructure, neatness, commerce, security, marketing, civic, opportunity for growt etc. Kano is not compared to Rivers State and Akwaibom in the aforementioned, though it could be above Rivers in security Fine has to do with aesthetics and natural endowments. Like having well paved roads adorned with trees to form boulevards, houses neatly sprinkled in the streets, standard estates, mordern parks and green recreational areas, fountains, neon lights and blah blah blah. That's when you say a city is beautiful in Nigeria. I think Calabar has the longest boulevard in Nigeria, the most green streets ever and the most pristine neighborhoods. Parks and gardens are common too in Calabar. Despite the declination calabar still leads as nigeria's finest city. Lagos and Abuja is federal presence so we don't expect less. Uyo is trying but the hype is too much. |

dukeprince50: Rivers State and Akwaibom beats Kano, that one is not debatable. Akwaibom is the finest state in the country, only island is fine in Lagos but Akwaibom is 98% fine I don't know what you guys are taking oh but it's surely not helping. What's your definition of fine sef? |

Anambralstson: You might slightly boasts of more in federal infastructures because of the way Nigeria was designed base on allocation and others, but in individuals and real sectors Kano is below Anambra state Nna you get mind oh de compare Kano to Anambra. You igbos are too married to mediocrity. I weak. |

SLAP44: You are helping me make my argument. An igbo interpreter translating English to Igbo to suit the land they are standing on. What's the surprise there? Don't be ridiculous your argument was that Ikwerre is a corruption of the name Nkwerre. And there's no argument that the Ikwerre people understand Igbo. |

TheMohican: You're showing that you've not travelled outside, I've lived in the North, most of the hausa speaking tribes that claim that they aren't hausa have their own languages and CULTURES that are very distinct from hausa language and culture, the ikwerre culture and language have no distinction with igbo language and culture, from naming to burial rights to wedding and marriage to property ownership, no difference, so comparing the ikwerre to kanuri or kadara or ham is a senseless misfire and comparism I'm currently in Kano State. My point is: the issue of ancestry conflicts is not peculiar to Ikwerre and Igbo all over the country there are cases like this. |

dukeprince50: ph belongs to everyone and we co-exist very well. It pains me that some set of people wants to claim it belongs to them, a full born Rivers pikin no go gree any body take am. Ibos should give up. This is not the way of a typical Rivers man. Look at any Rivers man that is genuine and ask him which tribe owns PH, he will be confused, the same cannot be said about Anambra, Kano or Lagos. True bro. That's the Port Harcourt spirit. Evey Rivers man is proud of the city and sees it as his own. These days every Rivers man na Port Harcourt boy. |

TheMohican: No mind them, it's possible that some ikwerres came from bini but I'm sure that the majority of them are of igbo ancestry, an ikwerres guy I knew said that one of their founding fathers name was Akalaka from bini, I asked him what Akalaka meant in bini and the guy was lost
Akalaka means destiny in oka dialect. This history is quite sketchy. That a minority tribe share close proximity with a major trbe and was heavily influenced by it's cultural landmarks doesn't mean it originated from it although that's a possibility we can't rule out. For the fact that the ikwerres have disputing thier Igbo roots means something is wrong somewhere and that history is faulty. It's not peculiar to Ikwerre and Igbo, there are some hausa speaking tribes who will tell you they're not hausa. |

Eulalia: That neighborhood is still part of ph,isn't it? But the op is trying to make us understand pH doesn't look anything like what the other thread depicted. And this is the real pH. I feel there's really no need for a counter thread just to prove what is not. Every city has both good and bad parts to it. So I don't know what he's trying hard to prove. Even abroad, they have ghetto areas and beautiful Areas as well.
This is not necessary, especially considering his opening remark on this thread. Some gullible Nigerians were beginning to think that's all there is to PH. The op almost succeeded in misleading them. I'm baffled that Nigerians could be that credulous. |

DATMAT: why parading the same picture with different colours...PH is not that good city one can be proud of.. considering the amount of IGR combo with oil state derivatives.... it is so shameful even Ikorodu area in Lagos is better... When all the headquarters of all the oil companies are located in Lagos what do you expect? The taxes are divided. And don't ever compare Ikorodu to Port Harcourt again in your life. Beats me you could even say that. Like seriously? You're high. |

Eulalia: This is a counter thread to the one a girl made a few days ago, I guess.
These are only Ariel views you're posting. We need close shots of the roads and streets of pH city before we can actually believe its a beautiful city through and through.. The other thread the op focused on a particular region infact just one neighborhood. This one is covering lots of places. No be door to door evangelism. |
