When I was travelling I was like WTF when GTB Opebi pointed me to an Aboki yet here I was,student who had legit travelling documents dreaming of CBN rates
I roused myself to reality and sought out the black market dudes in my hood
BTW, I'm thinking of using my Nigerian bank card here this week and want to have an idea of what the black market rate is like
This is to help me calculate how much Nigerian banksters creamed off me when I do my transactions

But you go wait tire for Dubai
BTW, Wakanow is a good site to compare tickets across different carriers
However use stealth mode [private window browsing when on the site]
I learnt all those flight and vacation sites use the cookies left on your system (if you use regular normal browsing) to track returning site users and give you even higher ticket price quotations

@ thread, BTW, anyone with RECENT and CURRENT pounds to naira rate i.e. if you are buying?

I was in 9ja about 3 months back and wasn't asked at the point of entry to show such during my return though I had travelled back into the UK using an Emirates one way ticket because I was short on cash then as I didn't book on time and had crazy ticket prices been thrown at me a week to departure
Tickets of 200 and 210 was now 260k!
In hindsight, if I had booked on time, na KLM (or Air France) O!
A tip I leave, BOOK EARLY ENOUGH
BOOK AS SOON AS POSSIBLE

Emmagency: #lol sharp guy... you just had to be 101% sure your visa was there and documents are okay.. Thank God I didn't apply at VI ooh...as a new agency, one would expect them to be faster but turns out total reverse is the case

Please I'm new around here & I would love to get some crucial info.

I applied for and got admission to study a 1 year Post-graduate course in the UK without making any requisite payment (Cranfield). I have also received my CAS number in May to resume 2nd October.

By providence I just got awarded with a full scholarship by an International Oil & Gas Co. covering tution, accomodation and monthly upkeep.
The challenge is I haven't started my application for a student visa.

I would like to know the:
1) Process involved in getting a student visa.
2) Required documents.
3) Possible time duration before its done.
4) How much the process would cost (estimate).
5) Does the 28-day wait for accounts ish apply to me?
6) Any other helpful info.

Sorry for the long post, but there's so much I need to know.

paradisewoods: Please help me, my 28 days is over and I have completed my online application, I tried booking appointment at Ikeja ,under visa type I chose PBS tier 4 and the earliest date for that is 28th of august. should I just choose standard appointment instead of PBS tier 4 because the earliest date for standard appointment is 19th August. Please I cant wait till 28th August because my school is resuming soon. Pls help

tobee: When I selected standard appointment, there was space for19th at Ikeja but when I changed it to pbs tier 4 , it changed to 27th for only one person. So I took that one and then applied for Standard appointment for my kids and hubby since theirs is dependant visa. I sincerely pray this is okay because after hearing that you were denied visa because you applied only one week before resumption, I got worried.

Although, I also have 6th October as my latest time for resumption on my CAS.

tobee: Justwise, Spikes and others, pls advice accordingly, tier 4 appointment at Ikeja seems to be difficult to get. The earliest I can get is 28th August, while for VI is 19th August, what do I do? My school resumes 15th September. It's urgent plssssssss

Chioti: Congrats on getting your visa. Was it expressly stated that you were denied before because you applied late and had you made any financial commitment then(as pa paying tuition fee)? During your interview that first time, were u asked why u were just applying. Sorry for all the story, lol, just a bit worried about my situation.

constance234: Thanks so much,no accomodation wasn't the reason I defered,I was away and just got back I don't think I could do all the run around to get docs together as I know my uni will even delay in issuing transcript for my bachelors amongst other things.i want to get it right as I know hurry will make me miss some details.january is just around the corner.still Greenwich so I still owe u that meet up.lol
