Bambamzzzz: @ spikesC pls what address did you fill on the landing card and what are the things i should be prepared for at the POE? please say something my oga @ the topYour campus address |
DualCore1: You guys are obviously not ready to be realistic. I'll stop by again sometime when I see some realism. Adios fellows.Na wa o, no one is quarreling with you. You claimed a very unrealistic fact without any form of proof. Even dismissing job adverts as not reliable. Like really? So people are not paid what the job adverts says they would be paid? Your experience is not enough to put up a claim that, GLOBALLY, freelance web developers "usually" earn $8 - $16 because other people also have their own "experiences" and because the pay rate in this country will be very different from another country and also even states in a country. Have you even considered official minimum wage? |
DualCore1: Personal experience, unlike where you got yours from (online job postings you very likely do not qualify to get hired for). DualCore1: In the global scene, a freelance PHP developer is usually paid between 8 - 16 USD per hour and is usually expected to work for 40 hours per week from his remote location. So that's about 1,280 - 2,560 USD per month. Some employers may choose to track work hours with tools like Peerdrum.Your stats is very very wrong ![]() Freelancing websites has made the hourly rate go very low quite alright, because of Asian developers, but that is not an indication of the global scene |
Emmagency: Oga Spike....which bank did you do your pounds PTA transaction?None. I just traveled with my mastercards and transferred my pounds to my brother's UK account. |
koded1999: @spikes is not possible to book on the Vfs except visa4uk and I don't have the option to rebook. Do you advice I make a new application and request for a refund. Please anymore I need urgent helpThen it has all changed. I think you just have to reapply and ask for a refund on the old one. |
dhtml: Dual core thanks for the reply. The rest of you should cover your faces. ![]() |
Bambamzzzz: i went to pick up my first application the second day i saw processed passport is in transit to vfs so maybe you should wait till you see something like thatJust go and pick it up. Waiting for that status is disastrous |
Bambamzzzz: TO GOD BE THE GLORY!!! I got my approval email today that my visa has been issued,Thanks to everybody in the house for all the advice and everything may OD be with us all and to others that want to apply pls try your best to get abuja.Congrats man ![]() |
Frangbon: Did a tour of banks this morningDo banks still sell? Yeah, fidelity had the best rates when i checked. The guy on the phone told me i can change without having an account with them, but when i got there it was the opposite. Firstbank on the other hand didn't even have one single pound in the whole of Lagos. Even at there main branch. One other policy they started is; You must have a Naira account with them to change because they would not accept cash. If the Naira account has a mastercard or visa, they would not sell to you because you should use the card in the UK. The funny part is, if the account doesn't have the cards, they would issue you the card on the spot ![]() So, logically, First bank ain't selling no foreign currency any more GTbank on the other hand has stopped any form of PTA or BTA |
koded1999: Please am new here and i have a problem that need urgent help. Here's the problem. The visa4uk and the vfs site do not allow rebooking of appointment from the very day of the appointment and upwards. You're only allowed to change an appointment before the appointment date. When i experienced this last January, what i did was, book a completely new appointment on the vfs website. |

binhozie: Pls help...i'm reposting the questionCall them on the phone and explain it all. It would definitely be just a mistake |
milychocs:Yeah. Road bock is now boring though. The first one was the bomb, though i missed it. Others where, just, there Safe flight |
justwise: D guy wan get his school fees back through health careAny way na way ![]() |
justwise: [/b]He want's to check for all the possible nyama nyama ![]() NHS is a blessing jooor ![]() |
Frangbon: So for sanity, it's advisable one carries in their hand luggage their own in-flight entertainment(with popcorn) and some snack if one opts for Royal MarocYeah, i took a pack of fries i bought in Casablanca into the final flight. But note that you're not allowed to have in liquids in your hand luggage. |
People has been saying here that most times, you don't even need an appointment to submit at Abuja. If i am the one in this situation you guys are in right now, i'll take the risk and book a standard appointment for Abuja. Disclaimer: This advice is provided as is, with no form of warranty. Therefore, i will not be held responsible if it doesn't work out for you ![]() |
3sha4lyf: Chai. It's not fair oooo. Tea coffee n biscuits for a 4hrs30mins flight? Hmmm... Guess I should stop hating on Aero contractors that offers cake and orange juice for a 45 mins flight.I would have preferred the cake and orange juice. Thanks ![]() |
HudsonBanks: What a concise and rib-cracking review.Man, the chics where mmuaah I actually considered forfeiting the next flight to Heathrow ![]() Now all i see here are either too red, too white or both ![]() I didn't experience that. My bags where tagged with my flight and they all came in on time. At baggage collection to arrivals, i was not even searched. It was like no one was at work that period. With all my food stuffs and 2 liters of original ogbonge honey ![]() |
milychocs:Nwa 042, when are you coming over ![]() |
3sha4lyf: You gotta be kidding me. Was it a free flight? Tea and coffee only? How many hours? With biscuits ![]() 4hrs, 30 mins The hostess woke me up from my beautiful sleep. I looked at the trolley, looked at her and just closed my eyes. Na who want drink Arabian poison that early morning ![]() |
binhozie: Somebody should tell UEL to send me my CAS na. Its getting to one week now, time is running out. I'm due to start my program (Computer Networks) on sept 14th...Call them, be on the phone and request that your cas be sent to you |
ruksy: Package well received today, I Bless God. Now for those people who submitted in Ikeja, please calm down. As long as you successfully gathered all the documents which were required of you by the UKBA, your visa will be granted. These people need your money so if you didn't lie, use fake papers and you didn't forget anything, then there is nothing to worry about. I know it is easier said than done but honestly, worrying wouldn't change anything or speed up anything. You will be doing yourselves more harm than good...congrats man ![]() |
HudsonBanks: Ehen bro please I'd like to know your experience with royal air maroc. How was it? Any wahala at all? Would you recommend them for those of us coming next month? A honest review from you will be most helpful & appreciated.Quite good. They left for Casablanca 10 minutes before take off and reached 20 minutes before arrival time. They left for Heathrow 15 minutes past departure time and reached 5 minutes before arrival time. They served tea/coffee from Nigeria to casablanca ![]() And one kind poison from Casablanca to Heathrow ![]() I didn't even dare to eat the food served ![]() Though took a can of coke and one kinda kpuff from Casablanca to Heathrow You'll not find good food in Casablanca, so you better fill up in Nigeria. The stores that sell edible snacks wey fit hold belle doesn't accept payment cards and they spend Euro The air hostesses do not speak English, atleast not very well, and ignorantly, they expect you to understand Arabic. But they have beautiful legs ![]() I slept through out the whole flights' duration though. Remember to have something for your ears. They will circle Heathrow for around 15 minutes and you'll wish the pilot would just nose dive the damn plane ![]() Chewing gum didn't work for me and swallowing saliva made the pain worse. Stroking the back of my ear actually reduced it very well. My brother said you should get ear muffs to put into your ear Very close to Heathrow, they would display a blue card whilst speaking Arabic ![]() Just take the damn card from them if you are on Tier-4 visa, cos you would need to fill it and submit at POE But if you missed it, don't worry, they would give it to you at POE. Have your CAS letter handy, and ofcourse, your passport. At POE while submitting those, they would ask what you came to do in the UK (Yeah i know, it's silly) The name of your school and the address of your campus. If someone would pick you up at Heathrow, you better load credit on your phone to call them. The free wifi at Heathrow didn't work. There is also charging spots on the building pillars, so you should have your charger close in case your phone is down. |
akinke: Spikesc,is that true, does that mean the UKVI msg can be disregarded, when they say they are making further enquiries, since 11th July?Depends. You can only be sure right now if you go to ikeja and check if your package is already there. If it's not, you contact UKVI and inquire your status |
kemkem30: Hi, I am a lecturer and I can say I am dedicated(and I know many other dedicated ones). However, my school (and Government) will rather build an event centre than equip the labs. So, funding and monitoring of the already established schools is the way forward.During the old days, there were relatively no funding from the government. The lecturers teach and discipline students with utmost sincerity. Right now, what do most lecturers do? They don't stick to time tables. They don't complete their scheme of work. They don't make sure the students learn what they actually came to learn before they're promoted. They are too corrupt, asking students to pay before passing. They are too deep into plagiarism, copying other peoples ebooks online and selling it as there textbooks. My friend in computer engineering, final year, doesn't know shit because the lecturers doesn't know shit. When you churn out illiterate ignorant graduates every year, they would replace you sometime later as lecturers and destroy the educational sector So it is not about the facility, it is about a lecturer doing his job. This discussion will be long, we can move it else where if you wish. Do you know why i dropped out from school in Nigeria and transferred to the UK? I took charge of my future... shikena |
bidibudi: @ justwis, spikeC I ve gotten to the waiting and praying stage I submitted my application yesterday and the interview went well enoughYou can start tracking immediately |
BossLadyCEO: Ok thank you for this. But do you think they would reply my mail. And should I send the mail quoting my passport no, place and date of applicationYes, they would reply it within 1 working day. The information they would need is on the contact form. Being the GWF number and your date of birth |
BossLadyCEO: I applied myself at VFS, did biometrics and interview. I meant I paid for courier, that is my passport be delivered to me at my Enugu residenceok. Email UKVI through this link to know the status of your application https://www.gov.uk/contact-ukvi-outside-uk |
Chrizizon: U didn't put a #Sorry, 0803-555-3259 The thread shouldn't be littered with agile advertisements, that's why i didn't. You can follow the link on my signature to get more info and contact details |
ruksy: Yeye people. After paying 4k, they can't send individually. Issokay, no problem. Diarizz God and He is watching them. That's good |
BossLadyCEO: Hello, please I need an advice. I applied for my tier 4 on the 15th of Aug at Ikeja with a friend of mine. We both on an msc program in dfft fields tho. But d issue is this, I couriered my application becos am presently serving in Enugu, but my friend is in Lagos. Since we submitted I didnt get any mail frm ukba that my application has been received, but she did. And then yesterday, the 26th of Aug, she got a message that her visa has been approved and ready for collection. Meanwhile I have nt received any mesage since we submitted. Tho I didnt pay for sms because I felt I wld be able to track it on their website. But unfortunately I didnt kno it"s no longer possible to track applications on the websiteI do not understand how you couriered your application because you must do bio-metrics. Yes, you can track your application on the website Now agent is involved. Ok, i think you have bigger issues than you might know. It is practically impossible for your agent to apply and submit a tier 4 visa application for you |
