Budding Ghanaian actress and social media influencer, Purfcie Conna is not your usual African role interpreter. The Ghanaian damsel whose dedicated Instagram fans cannot fill up a cinema hall is a talented actress whose got her eyes on reaching the top and committed to seeing it happen. A blend of beauty, brains and sensual curves, the sexy entertainer and marketing executive in this interview with TheNewsGuru(TNG) opens up on her love for acting, being body shamed growing up and lot’s more I find it weird some fans send me unsolicited pictures of their manhood- Purfcie Conna What was childhood like and how did it prepare you for your current career? My childhood was really great. I spent my entire childhood with my parents and we normally travelled in and out of the capital Accra. This brings up lots of cherished memories. Christmas was a big deal for my family. We would normally invite our extended relatives to come celebrate and party with us. It was all fun and very educative. As a child I had the dream of becoming someone great and known all over the world so we would talk about this and reenact the lives of our idols. So I guess that’s when the journey began. Were you body-shamed growing up? Yes I was. I was called chubby and short, and I kind of was chubby. You can imagine all the names and teasing that I endured. It’s all good now though. These experiences shape who we are. What is that one role you look forward to playing? An adventurous role, God-willing. You know, anything can happen with a role like that. It’ll be a great experience for me to discover alongside my fans what I can do with such a role. What factors do you look out for before picking up a sensual role? I prefer roles that fit my personality. But I don’t want to play sensual roles for just the sake of it. If it is up to me, I would want these roles to be more educative, more informative. It will take good directing and camera work to turn a role like that into something special. What is the weirdest message you have ever gotten from fans? My inbox have some of the weirdest messages! I cannot even pick one that tops all. But I generally find unsolicited pictures of manhood weird. I mean why? How do they even think it would work? You send me your manhood picture and I reply and chase you? I don’t get it. https://www.thenewsguru.com/i-find-it-weird-some-fans-send-me-unsolicited-pictures-of-their-manhood-purfcie-conna/

Controversial Ghana based Ghanaian actress, Princess Shyngle as recounted how her sex tape got into the hands of blackmailers, who allegedly pretended to be movie producers. In a chat with The Sun, she revealed how her sex videos and nude pictures got into the hands of a Nigerian who allegedly blackmailed her . Recounting the incidence, Shyngle said: “They mailed us through Instagram, that they are producers and they wanted to collaborate in a movie, that is how we got to Asaba. That was how we got duped. “They have been charged to court and remanded in prison custody. That is their own side of the story. My colleague and I have our own side of the story, which we can prove with our Instagram message and voice messages. Everything he said was obviously all made up. There is no way my colleague and I would meet somebody on Instagram and just move to Asaba to meet some men to sleep with us. That is just ridiculous. That is a big lie. They lured us to Asaba all in the name of doing a movie. It has absolutely nothing to do with no man”. https://www.thenewsguru.com/how-my-sex-tape-got-in-the-hands-of-blackmailers-princess-shyngle/

Nigerian pop star, 2face Innocent Idibia is 43 today. The talented and versatile music star was born on September 18 1975 and he is undoubtedly one of the gifted voices to come out of the continent. Below are the inspirational lessons you can learn from this humble entertainer. 1. Embodiment of Grace Yes, 2face is talented, but beyond his musical ingenuity one trait that constantly comes up when telling his story is the grace of God upon his life. In his career, he has had several near death experiences that should have taken his life. In 2007, 2face Idibia was robbed at gunpoint, his car was snatched and he was shot on his left knee. No one knows how he does it, but it is evident that he is a “Gracefull” dude. Despite several career threatening decisions, he is still relevant and an inspiration to other artistes. 2. Stay Consistent Consistency makes you follow through on your goals and dreams when others lack the staying power needed to make their dreams come true. In 2005, “2baba” won the MTV Europe Music Award for Best African act. In 2006, his R n B track, African Queen was used as the sound track for Hollywood movie, Phat Girls which stared Monique. He emerged the first Nigerian act to win MOBO awards in 2007 defeating D’banj and other top African music acts. He released his 3rd album, Unstoppable in 2008 with tracks like ‘Enter The Place’, Excuse me Sister’ and Flex which featured Rn B king, R. Kelly. https://www.thenewsguru.com/2face-43-african-queen-crooner-can-teach/

Veteran Nollywood actress, Joke Silva in 2016 lamented over the discrimination between light and skinned actors. The respected role interpreter described the development as ‘irritating’. “I find that so irritating. I really do, and that’s where we come back to skills. It’s a cop out for a director of photography to prefer light screened performers to dark skinned performers. “If we take the trouble to watch films from other parts of the world, and see how when you have both white actors and black actors, see the lighting, see how the black person is lit. I’m not talking about working with a light skinned person of color, I’m talking about working with a dark skinned person of color – Samuel L Jackson for instance. Ebony black, and always incredibly lit. Where’s our own excuse? You just never get it in theatre. It does happen in films here, but it’s because of laziness.” she told Pulseng. Months back a certain video vixen called out Afro-pop star, Tekno . The dancer revealed that the singer allegedly dropped her from his music video because of her dark skin colour. Gabrielle Union, Tika Sumpter, and Lupita Nyong’o have all been praised for their good looks. Because they are dark-skinned, however, they also have atles of how colorism or skin colour discrimination affected their self esteem Actress Keke Palmer of “Akeelah and the Bee” fame discussed her desire to be lighter-skinned while sitting on the Hollywood Confidential Panel in 2013. “When I was like 5 years old I used to pray to have light skin because I would always hear how pretty that little light skin girl was, or I would hear I was pretty ‘to be dark skinned. “It wasn’t until I was 13 that I really learned to appreciate my skin color and know that I was beautiful.” The actress went on to say that African Americans need “to stop separating ourselves by how dark or how light we are.” Read the rest here https://www.thenewsguru.com/entertainers-speak-skin-colour-discrimination-exist-nollywood/

What is today known as depression was first reported in ancient Mesopotamia in the second millennium BC. At that time, depression was regarded as a spiritual attack. As a result, anyone under this attack sought help from religious priests. This belief was later adopted by the Greeks, Romans, Babylonians and the Chinese, all whose foundations were hinged on the metaphysical. The few who sought medical help were treated with dieting, music, baths, travelling and other therapeutic methods. A new study by the World Bank has revealed that 22 per cent of Nigerians, on average, are chronically depressed. The study looked at the first nationally representative estimates of chronic depression in Nigeria to shed light on how it may be linked to economic outcomes, such as Labour market and human capital investments, especially in heavy-conflict areas or for individuals or communities who have experienced shocks or deaths. Now let’s bring it back home. In recent times, a lot of Nigerian celebs have confessed to being depressed. The glamour and stardom they enjoy does not isolate them from depression. Nigerian singer, Mocheddah revealed via Instagram live on Saturday, June 9, 2018, that she battled with depression for four years. In the case of Halima Abubakar, she revealed that she was depressed for seven months over a failed relationship. According to the sexy actress, after her relationship collapsed, she didn't handle it well, thereby leading to her having sleepless nights and constant migraine. Tonto Dikeh also is another celebrity who has come out to reveal that she has suffered from depression. According to the beautiful actress, she was faced with depression back in 2013 but was able to overcome it. Harrysong got many worried on Thursday when he put up a ‘death post’ on Instagram. “Don’t cry when I die. Celebrate! Put up a kingmaker concert; empower more youths. I have lived. I have done my bit. Carry on in grace… TEKERO? I LOVE YOU ALL,” the singer wrote. His management company, Alterplate, put out a statement stating that their artiste was dealing with “some emotional issues”. “Uber-success can be depressogenic,” says Todd Essig, a psychologist in New York City. “Many executives are prone to depression, despite their success, maybe even because of it.” So why are Nigerian celebrities getting depressed? 1. Competition Being in the limelight is a huge responsibility and when these stars are not able to sustain their relevance and success, depression kicks in. In his song ‘ Fame’, Adekunle Gold sings about the downside of being famous: Everybody says don’t change. But how will I grow.I’m scared to do the things I want But people dunno.I wanted the fame and I no know say The thing go hard.Somedays I want to run away I no go lie” “I have had a number of high-profile individuals in my practice over the years and there’s no doubt in my mind that they struggle more with depression… They constantly compare themselves to the Joneses”, Psychologist, Deborah Sewani declares. https://www.thenewsguru.com/revealed-why-nigerian-celebrities-are-battling-depression/

Sensual and seductive Nollywood actress, Angel Christopher is one of the sexiest damsels in Nollywood at the moment. The Delta State based role interpreter who has starred in over 20 movies in this chat with TNG opens up on her passion for acting, her love for MouthAction, her most challenging movie role, among other issues. How did you get your first movie role? I got my first movie role through a friend .It was a great experience, working with people that matters ,especially working with one’s role models. What is your most challenging role so far? That will be when I acted with pant and bra playing the role of cultist. Were you not shy to play such a role? I was but had no much choice; I was very reluctant to pull off my clothes that day. Infact I was the last person to do so. People say MouthAction is dirty, what do you think about that? What makes it dirty? It can only be dirty when you’re dealing or dating a dirty person, when your partner is clean there is nothing wrong in going oral with him or her. What if you get married and your husband insists he wants it, will you succumb? I personally cannot date or marry someone I can’t engage in MouthAction with. As a matter of fact , if I don’t love you enough to go oral with you then I can’t love you enough to be with you because I love and believe in deep romance before sex. I can stay forever without sex as long as we keep the oral and romance fire burning. There are so many ways to satisfy your partner without sex and oral is one of them. So I can’t cope without MouthAction. Read the rest here https://www.thenewsguru.com/i-cannot-marry-someone-doesnt-love-oral-sex-angel-christopher/

Gone are the days, the slim girls had the attention all to themselves at the expense of the fleshy and big girls. The fat and plump girls who now refer to themselves as plus- size are sharing the spotlight, strutting their stuff and becoming celebrities in their own right. I get a lot of messages from men every day, some crazy inbox messages. Some walk up to you, telling you they like you, but I know what they want is sex. The weirdest message I have ever gotten was a guy saying he wants to have a taste of my bum When you are not working, what is your favorite thing to wear? If I am at home, I like to be naked I don’t know why. Do you think being curvy is an advantage? I think If I were to be slim, I won’t be here today. I will just be another girl. Being curvy has made me realise my self-worth and to reach out to people because I am naturally a shy person. It has made me a bolder person There is this believe that curvy women are better in bed than slim women .What do you think about that? I cannot speak for everybody, but I think curvy girls are nasty in bed. I don’t know If they are better, but they are crazier in bed. I think curvy girls just like to give their all when it comes to love making. They are very crazy What projects are you working on? They said we don’t have the approved plan for the building, we gave them the approved plan which was approved since 2008. All the allegations were resolved during the meeting and they confirmed it themselves. Ajiboye also hinted that the state government expressed willingness to compensate the company and also advised that they present another building plan. “When that was resolved, they said we should come up with a new building plan that they would approve and they are going to compensate us. I was the one that prostrated with Isaac Brown and the younger brother of the chairman .The governor was talking to me was actually lashing at me that I was behind everything , that I was the one abusing him in the papers and sending press releases. As an elderly person we had to prostrate and beg him. We didn’t go there to beg them. The meeting was brokered by a leading gubernatorial aspirant in the state.”

Speaking with TNG in an interview, the bootilicious actress reveals that she plays sensual roles because she is not yet married. “I actually don’t like such roles because as a result of my looks, people tend to feel that such roles will fit me more .I prefer to play the role of a wicked woman, wife, sister or a village girl. I try my best to play such roles because I am an actor. I play such roles because I am not yet married. If I were to be married I cannot play such roles, deep down in my heart I am not comfortable with such roles. Simon also says she is not comfortable with people defining her by her bum and curves only, adding that there is much more to her beyond the curves. “I don’t want people to define me by my curves or sex appeal. Embattled Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of Yinka Ayefele Music House, Yinka Ayefele has explained why his Music House was demolished by the Governor Abiola Ajimobi led Oyo State Government. The ace musician speaking on Monday in an exclusive interview with TNG through his manager, David Ajiboye said the demolished building did not contravene any building plan/law as made to believe. Ajiboye insisted that the demolition was an act of witch hunt for not supporting the government. Recall that the demolished building houses Ayefele’s Fresh FM, Studio and other business outfits. It is valued at N800m. It was partially bulldozed on Sunday morning. Nothing has changed, we are still broadcasting Asked how the demolition has affected operations of the station, Ajiboye said the station was still broadcasting though from a different location. “Fresh FM is on air. They demolished the building and we relocated our studio to another place. This radio station is sophisticated and all our presenters can present from anywhere in the world. During the US elections, we were live in the US and we broadcast live from the US. We can broadcast anywhere without necessarily converging in a particular place.” Ayefele unruffled by demolition Ajiboye further clarified that the chairman of the station, Yinka Ayefele was taking the demolition easy. He said the demolition was strictly political and not because of ignoring warnings or breaking any law as government made people to believe. “He is taking it very easy. He is not bothered about it because we know the state government is only witch-hunting us. It is political; we know if we had committed any offence, the NBC would have sanctioned us. We have not committed any offence. They want us to change some of our programmes and some of our analysts. We told the commissioner that this is an independent radio station and you can’t do that. If we run afoul of the broadcasting code, the NBC would have sanctioned us. They can only control a state government owned station, not Fresh FM”. Some of my colleagues whom I paid didn’t show up. The ones who showed up didn’t finish my shoot. They demanded for extra pay because we didn’t finish the shoot as at the stipulated time. Some old filmmakers wanted to frustrate me even after entrusting them with my project. Can you cope in a sexless relationship? Yes I can, as long as my partner does the needful. Wasn’t Humblesmith’s Osinachi concert held on August 12th, 2018 supposed to be a potpourri of performances from some of his colleagues in the industry? But it seemed the Osinachi singer hit the blank this time, with the way his colleagues boycotted his much anticipated concert. Though everyone applauded Humblesmith for his amazing performance at the concert, but the support he got from his colleagues is nothing compared the kind Olamide gets for ‘OLIC’ Humblesmith has collaborated with Davido, Olamide, Phyno, and Flavour, but they were conspicuously missing at the concert. It was only Tiwa Savage and Harrysong who added glamour to the event with their performances. https://www.thenewsguru.com/nigerian-artistes-boycott-humblesmiths-osinachi-concert/ The event looked more like a comedy concert as comedians like AY, Ajebo, Acapella and others were present to support one of their own. For a music industry that is thriving without government intervention, the least these artistes can do for one another is to be the stars in each other’s skies.

But once I realise there is more, I would talk to him about getting professional help But I would approach the subject in a way that makes him feel respected and cared for, not humiliated and weak. Also all addictions come from somewhere, so I would work on addressing the root of the problem that may have caused that dependency. It could be bereavement, bankruptcy, job loss etc that made him try to find comfort in sex. Women can also suffer from sex addiction. It's worse for them because they are just seen as whores when that happens and no one wants to help”. https://www.thenewsguru.com/i-will-i-married-sex-addict-lorraine-lionheart/

Like most people already know I started as a kid actor. I have been very smart since when I was a little girl. My mum started acting way before me; she had been doing movies and TV series. Most times when she brought scripts home, I was always reading the other part for her. Fortunately there was a day she was went for audition somewhere in Surulere, there was supposed to be a role for a young boy in the sitcom, but the boy did not show up and I was the only kid there. I read the dialogue, they loved what I read .That was how I started acting. Eventually my mum didn’t get a role. That was how I got into the industry. Apart from the fact that I was lucky that day, I have always had flair for acting. https://www.thenewsguru.com/it-wasnt-easy-for-me-to-handle-stardom-at-a-tender-age-opemipo-bamgbopa/ What is the name of the first movie you featured in? I started with a soap-opera called ‘Living next to you’; I featured in the soap-opera alongside Tina Mba, Joe Adegwa and others. The first movie I ever acted is called ‘Iya Simbi’ How were you able to handle stardom at a tender age? It wasn’t easy for me to handle stardom at a very tender age. My mum was my manager so it was very easy for me to walk on the street and people not touch me. Though there were harassment, but not sexual. I have always been a very simple and down to earth person since I was very young. My mum was always there so it was easy to combine a lot of things .Then stardom didn’t get into my head, it hasn’t gotten into my head till now. Even as young as I was in school, a lot of people saw me as a star and people wanted to be my friend.
