This is perfectly the best move. You're such a clever person to have made that decision. I'm of high optimism that it will turn out well in your application.

Thanks sir.

I'm glad you're doing your personal research with respect to the "AIP" and "course registration without final approval". This is a very brief warning and explanation which I believe should be sufficient for an intelligent person in and outside of this platform.

It will end in praise.
I had to defer the admission even after getting Medical request letter.
Awaiting medical to be uploaded since done on 27th August..

Eligibility check still on blablabla
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 17 by Spotlights(m): 10:55am On Sep 01, 2020
This shows not even the school knows what the outcome of a SP would be.
They needed money while you're in haste too.

Frankrobbn1:
"We are expecting IRCC to ask you for a proof of registration for September 2020 program before they issue State Two Final Visa Approval".

From the excerpt it appears that the international director of your proposed school in Canada is NOT definite about the next steps to be taken by IRCC. I would suggest that you should wait until CIC news have been published this week, so you can be aware of the future action to take in regards to course registration.

It will end in praise.

@Fgmp12.
You may be right as we are all trying to be safe and not to loose huge sum.
Categorically IRCC stated that having AIP is not subject to Visa approval (either approved or refused) and it later quote that applicant MAY commence class online.

If IRCC can't reason with applicants that paid to study in a class then I am sure they wouldn't force them to study online (with additional sum incurred, lack of concentration, inconsistencies, mental state, time zone differences, etc)

Looking at both phrase as tricky as it could be then I see where doubts comes in but nevertheless application would still have to be scrutinized even with AIP or not.

It's a choice to proceed online or wait for full Visa so far admission is still intact.

Let's hope for the best from the lots of stories, guessing, speculations and beliefs.

Just a thought

Fgmp12:
I personally think it raises highbrows when you get AIP and the VO knows your course can be done online and then you defer because the border are closed and you can’t fly down there.
As quoted by someone on the Canada Forum “I know students paid the money to study from with-in Canada instead of online, but by deferring after receiving AIP kind of put the intent in doubt that the student just want to get in to Canada for PR instead of genuinely studying for the course that was suppose to start in Fall 2020. AIP was based on the application that was for Fall 2020 and the evidences provided in application was to support for that only. Now the LOA has changed, it could be a different program, different university, different financial requirements which could render original decision useless.
My assumptions might be wrong tho.

TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 17 by Spotlights(m): 11:15pm On Aug 29, 2020
This has nothing to do between school and the embassy.
I'm fact the chance of your refusal is very very slim due to your purpose of visit.
Maybe you didn't give a well composed SOP/LOE which is I think is the only reason.
I guess you also make payment for your school fee and d receipt in your application too.

If u can attend to the reason given and include it in your new application, your chance is 90%.

Goodluck next time

Emmyinks:
Hi everyone, pls I have a question and am so sorry, my story is long.
Gurus in the house, pls help me.

I applied for study permit July 29 and I was denied yesterday.
So an agent told me that it was because I have registered for a course in my school and that the school have contacted the embassy to confirm if I have received my visa but since I dont have it, I was denied.
The reason why I was told this is because I received a message from my school that goes thus:

Dear Students,

Greetings from UR International!

Our record indicates that you have registered for the Fall 2020 term and have not yet provided us with your immigration documents. Please submit a copy of your valid Passport, Visa (if you are from a visa required country)/Study Permit, Letter of Introduction (if applicable) or Approval-in-principle letter to the UR International Office via email at international.studentservices@uregina.ca .

In order to continue with your Fall 2020 term registration, it is important to submit the aforementioned documents by Friday Wednesday, September 16, 2020 via email.

UR International Student Services is always here to assist and support our students. If you have any additional questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us at international.studentservices@uregina.ca

If you have already submitted your documents to our office, please disregard this email.

Thank you!

Kind regards,
UR International Team!

I was also told that school doesn't request for any immigration documents until you register.
Now I'm confuse because I can't see any correlation.
My questions are:
Does any one who hasn't register for a course receive this type of email or its those that have register for a course that they usually send this type of email too??
Secondly, is it possible to be denied visa just because immigration officers found out that I have registered for a course when my Visa is not yet through?? Are they Woking together??
Thirdly, does been denied a visa means I have to apply again??
Pls is it still possible to get a slot for biometric earlier than 23rd sept?? Its had getting an earlier date.

Thank you so much for reading.

Hello everyone.
Seems Canadian government wants to force students to study online as they just extend their border closure till 30th September.
Who knows till when.

MY FEAR IS NOT TO REFUSE THOSE WITH AIP AND MEDICAL PASSED, BIOMETRIC DONE VISA IF ADMISSION DEFERRED TO JANUARY 2021.
NOT EASY TO STUDY ONLINE with so many reasons attached.

Not mine by the way
Actually this is good.
It shows your application is still on track.

After first refusal of my brother, the second application since Feb4th got a request to provide parent consent form that allowed him to stay with a custodian. After uploaded, he got the AIP and followed by medical request which he will go for tomorrow.

At times, IRCC do request applicant to make payment for school fees if they are to continue processing application or to issue visa.

It's a good sign for you.
Don't panic

Hi guys! So I applied for gcms notes on the 5th Via applygcms and it was quite insightful though I can’t explain the meaning of most terms and codes. Received it yesterday.
Timeline:
Reapplied: June 10th
Eligibility passed on gcms: 30th June
Medicals review assigned but not started: 30th June (I submitted upfront and I noticed it has been under review since July 1st. I don’t know why)
Criminality: Passed
Information sharing: Complete, ready to be reviewed.
Original passport request assigned but not started: 30th June
AIP sent: 5th August but I received on 6th
Officers notes: previous refusal noted, rebuttal in SOP noted. Documentation adequately supports proposed study(in my own words). Eligibility passed. Final decision pending biometrics and medical result (even though the application is complete.)

So fingers crossed.
Thanks for the update!
I think all AIP's receivers are hopeful of a good ending.
Congratulations to all

Hello guys!

I applied for my Study permit on the 16th of June and didn't get any update on my application until I ordered for my GCMS notes 15 days ago.

I just received the notes now to discover that I FAILED the eligibility review done on the 17th of July, 2020.

Part of the reasons include for the denial includes ; no travel history and inadequate funds, weak family ties.

I acknowledge that I do not have any travel history and was single when I did the application (married now though). I will defer my admission and use the next 6 months to get travel experience and increase my POF and then reapply again. Unfortunately, my course can only be started in the fall term, so I will be defering to Fall 2021.

I am pained but not discouraged. We will do this once again.

I am grateful to everyone for the knowledge I have gotten from this forum.

That was same reason my brother got refused January this year and with family ties matter.

In the reapplication, I included SOP to explain better (It wasn't in the first application) then I include all the brothers and sisters birth certificate in it to show his family ties.

Now he has gotten AIP and request for medical

OluwaFavored:
Hi House,

To the experience gurus here,

my SP was denied on 21 July with a single reason
"I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay, as stipulated in subsection 216(1) of the IRPR, based on the
purpose of your visit.

I applied for a judicial review through a lawyer I was introduced to, but I didn't know judicial review take long time to conclude.

Now, I'm thinking re-applying but not sure if I can do that while the judicial review appeal is ongoing and not concluded yet.

Please, what do you think?

1. Wait for the review appeal to conclude? but this may not be against this fall 2020 according to the lawyer and my program does not have a Spring/Winter start, it also cannot be differed. I will have to reapply against Fall 2021. Its a very competitive program.

2. Withdraw the review request and reapply afresh for SP with maybe an affidavits that I will be returning home after my program since the only concern is my leaving Canada after my program. Again, get a certificate of enrollment from my school to add.

3. Lastly, do everything in #2 above but without withdrawing the review request.

Please, advise, so that I can take the steps before it is late.

Good evening Nairalanders and the learned bosses here.

Please I want to ask if there will/ may be consequences to SP approval after AIP and medical request gotten then defer admission to January 2021 intake.

Reason is due to concentration and the time difference to study online.

Please would there be any negative effect after raising a web form to notify IRCC of the deferment?

Thanks in advance for your response

A very good sign.

That's true.
Got the findings afterwards since I haven't heard such before and it's true.
It was stated in my previous post as I haven't seen.

But change is constant

Your opinion counts so well

Please don't be misled, AIP is NOT a guarantee that VISA will be granted!. I believe you've not seen a case scenario whereby IRCC after requesting for a medical exam from an applicant, they later refuse the application with flimsy reasons? I guess you've not seen such happen before!. Please be properly advised that Nothing guarantees study permit application to Canada. Not even the best attorneys can guarantee success. Ultimately, the outcome of every application is up to an immigration officer to exercise their discretion based on the information present in the application.

Having said that, I would like to congratulate your brother on the success of his application thus far.

It will end in praise.

Yes you can.
It's even the best at times, that would qualify him for family ties then the genuineness of his intention to study.

TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 17 by Spotlights(m): 2:50pm On Aug 10, 2020
@Muslimity

Reading through your note! (Basked on my understanding)

A young child of 15yrs should and must be with a custodian.
As it is, definitely you should be the primary sponsor as since you are capable.
1. Using many sponsors would send a wrong impression to the VO of your incapability
2. Your wife and a younger kid going with him would be for a limited time (just for him to settle down) and it wouldn't be adviced not to use a certified custodian since he is small.
Remember the possibility of staying with your wife's Aunt in that far distance as mentioned (The VO would/ may help him decide that his purpose ain't legit to study going through such distance everyday- sounds untrue)
3. The letter could rather state that your Contact in canada would at anytime provide for him his needs (expenses, check ups, well being etc since she in same country with him)

4. Having such a profiled contact in canada sounds good and tricky as she could accommodate/ harbour all of you whilst you're in canada and not to return home anymore (Remember the purpose of family ties, what makes you return to your home must be well proven)

I'd suggest if you could just skip your Canadian contact, pay for his homestay while your wife and the other child present an hotel to stay in the application (Not to look desperate or tryna run away.... No point giving the VO reasons to doubt eligibility)

Your Canadian contact to reimburse your account instead just for you to show enough prove of funds needed.

Any other advice is welcome

@frankrobbn1.
I reason with your points and at the same time, I am bringing to your notice that my brother was refused SP January 2020 based on Family ties and not convinced he would leave canada after his studies. (A 15yr boy)

I reapplied for him on 14feb and he just got his AIP on 5th Aug even before the AIP letter, IRCC requested that he should send a notarized parents consent letter allowing him to stay with a custodian as it wasn't submitted initially, just the Canada custodian letter alone was attached and after few weeks the AIP letter came through.

TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 17 by Spotlights(m): 10:31am On Aug 10, 2020
I think this is not really right and correct.
In the AIP letter, it stated the procedures in which application is been treated and certainly decision is usually based on the first stage for eligibility,
funds, purpose, family ties and intention. Once that is passed, the second is a general and regular routine to know about your records of health, act (criminally) and backgrounds of all checks.
Getting AIP means a lot and close to getting Visa.
Haven't heard of application been refused on the second stage. It's either straight refusal from stage 1 or to proceed to final stage. #MyOpinion
Frankrobbn1:
Wow! Just yesterday and today, this thread is already on page 209, so fast shocked shocked, what info have I missed?. I can relate how everyone is showing great happiness about the new update and the massive AIP letters going about on this platform. In all honesty, I celebrate with you guys and hope it ends favourably for you all in the later stage.

With regards to your question @Tonyodg, majority of first time applicants will definitely receive a notification from IRCC declaring that they have passed the first stage approval in principle. This is because the requirement for the first stage is basically about the applicant's proof of funds and confirmation of genuineness of acceptance letter from the DLI in Canada. The other IRCC standard visa processing assessments which includes Criminality, Overall Eligibility, Security and Information Sharing with other countries are yet to be initiated by the senior immigration officer on the applicant's application. I will probably say that its just the R10 check that has been done so far by the immigration case analyst at the High Commission of Canada, which is primarily to ensure that applicant submitted the right documents for the program (study permit) they have applied for.

Applicants should be more concerned about the second stage as there are higher chances that the visa officer at the High Commission of Canada may likely reject the application if the applicant hasn't demonstrated that they are a bonafide student to undertake the proposed program in Canada. Be properly enlightened that it is at the second stage, the Visa officer will assess the overall credibility and reasonableness of the applicant's intended program in Canada, whether or not is in tandem with their previous studies, current employment or career path/future goals. More importantly, however, the biometrics enrollment details will be used to run a background check on the applicant by the CBSA in an effort to ascertain the applicant's criminality and security status. Kindly note that it is at this second stage the Visa officer will review the entirety of the application and make a final decision. Please be advised that commencement of online classes doesn't influence the discretion of the visa officer or guarantee an applicant's application success. A visa officer can still refuse the application if the applicant doesn't meet the IRCC Act requirements for study permit issuance.

My introspective thought tells me that IRCC is using this new update (AIP letters) to lure applicants into starting their programs from their home country as they can't afford to lose international students for the fall 2020 semester. In a nutshell, let's be optimistic that everything ends well.

I hope this information is helpful to everyone.

As always, it will end in praise.
