Jencejyde: Quite an interesting discuss. From a player and Coaches perspective especially at the highest level. The key thing here is CONSISTENCY and not time. Players can blossom early or later but for you to be considered a starter and a key component of your team sentiments and favoritism aside, you must be consistent with quality performances.
I would not write off any of Nketiah of Willock but would be seriously worried that a martinelli who was good for us before going out for a year is now back again and delivering consistent performances more than the other two . It's worrying and honestly you would expect more from them. Balogun played two games for us but what he showed in two games is more than what Willock and eddyy have shown in so many games.
They should also be reminded that they are professionals with the privilege of playing in the first team and as such the bar has been raised with no excuses. Look as Ansi at Barca before he got injured. Even when messi was not playing that boy made the team look comfortable and was Consistent. Hardly does he have a bad game.
This needs to change quickly for eddy and Willock to convince everyone that they deserve their place in that squad else drastic decisions need to be taken. Time is of the essence and they are not getting younger too You are on point. But consider that consistency itself is a factor of time. A plays 2 games and scores 2goals, B plays 10games and scored 5goals. |

pazienza: There is no guarantee Balogun will become a star outside Arsenal. How many players have left Arsenal in recent times and become big thereafter? Gnabry and who else? Chuba Akpom couldn't wait and left, where is him now, Benik Afobe is in Portugal unknown team, Amaechi that rejected Arsenal deal and decided to go to Bundesliga has struggled there and I heard he is currently on loan at league 1 from his Germany team.
Balogun will be stupid if he allows his agent ruin his career. All agents want players to move club because transfers are cash cows for them.
Balogun has a clear path to Arsenal first team. Lacazette has not aged well and will be entering the last year of his contract come this summer. Arsenal has no plans of renewing his contract and would look to move him on come summer.
Auba is also aging and going to decline. Jules who could even be a better striker than Balogun at least according to those who watch our youth teams renewed his contract this summer and pushed for a loan move to a league 1 team where he is currently doing well. That's a young boy who understands that success takes a process.
If Balogun wouldn't renew, Arsenal should let him go. If he becomes next Messi, good for him. You are right. Same as there is no guarantee that a player that failed here won't succeed elsewhere. |

Fkforyou: On the contrary no. @Spy360.
Nketiah is not showing any signs of improvement or the desire to improve. Same as willock.
It shows in his game. Let me tell you something, I was doubtful of Martenelli, I thought he was a flash in the pan, but then I saw his movements of the ball, his passion, his concentration and spirit, I became a little bit convinced, then, he went on injury and I was like that’s it, he is done. We are going to be making excuses for him that it’s because of the injury bla bla bla and that’s all we will ever hear about Martinelli, but guess what, I was absolutely wrong about him and right for giving him a 50:50 chance.
As for Bukayo, I’ve always wondered what Roland saw in him, like I didn’t really get the hype about him. I remember Roland17 bragging about seeing his prospects since when he was in our youth team, guess what, Saka has been my best player since our deep in form, I currently rate his importance to the team more than Aubameyang, I started being impressed with him from our Man City game, and so far, hasn’t disappointed me. same with Tierney, those guys dey give me joy. They put in a 100, week in, week out.
Now compare them to the likes of Willock and Nketiah. When last were you impressed by them. Forget about the goals they score in our Europa match’s with small teams. I mean an important match where they put in an impressive performance. Just name it. Bros, if you look at your statement you will agree with me that you are not in a right position to rate either Nketiah or Willock as you admitted that you failed in your ratings of Saka and Martinelli despite being put through by Roland. Nketiah is a goal poacher kind of striker, and he has the ball skills similar to Balogun. He is the record goal scorer for England's U21 in the same group with Alan Shearer and he even accomplished that in fewer games. Someone like Tammy Abraham is down below at 10th despite playing twice as much as Nketiah. For me the reasonable thing to do is to give him time and chance. It will be utmost foolishness to let Nketiah slip off our hands. Remember Gnabry. As for Willock his problem is poor decision making which in itself is connected to his age and experience. But I know he has the ball skills, energy and movement. Many of us may not realise that he won more tackles than Martinelli and ESR did against Chelsea. My point is give them time. I believe they will shine if properly managed. |

Jodera: All is just needed is for Arteta to convince him that he'll start seeing mins from next season with opportunity to get first team if he performs well. I mean it's just nketiah that's a 2nd striker, so he can keep the competition open between both of them
If he allows balogun leaves, he's allowing potential £50-80m to leave, cos that's what we'll need to potentially fill that cf position in a year or two. So the earlier Arteta sees what we're seeing, the better. You are on point. I'll rather have young guys running around for us than old men doing hide and seek on the pitch. Martinelli...... Nketiah......... Saka Azeez....... Smith-Rowe .... AMN Tierney.. Gabriel.... Saliba... Bellerin ....................... Leno........................ |

Jodera: Lol. You said we've wingers na.
What I just wanted to say is if we had a good 10, with a stupid winger like willian or pepe, our attack will still be dead cos they inhibit attack very much. To me, the tide turned much during the removal of martinelli IMO.
I remember a highlight in the 2nd half where martinelli dropped deep in the midfield, played a quick pass to Tierney and turned almost immediately, sprinting towards Chelsea's goal, and then countered with the ball. On reaching the box, Tierney squared the ball back for martinelli who steadied himself and fired a shot for Mendy to make a save.
When that happened, I almost cried for joy. I'm like "Gosh, see what we've been missing since". See happiness in me
Mehn, all these Senior players don do me(us) strong thing I swear Actually we have wingers, but no AM (apart from ESR who is not established in the role). If we must acquire any player, it has to be an AM not winger. A good AM will make those wingers look good or at least manageable. |

Jencejyde: IMHO it was not a case of attacking midfield, it was just pure desire and attitude from saka martinelli and esr. Immediately they were subbed the desire and hardwork was missing again.
Honestly they need to take a cue from the workrate of martinelli and saka especially plus like someone said, it rubbed off lacazete who also has a good game . His pressing also nearly resulted in a goal.
What they need to do is build on this Attitude. Pepe was disappointing to think he has a huge tag on him and he completely offered no threat when called upon.
Time is running out nd Arteta must be ruthless like I have always said and drop anyone who is not ready to bust a gut. January is not far off and if we can get a quality am ,hopefully we should start gaining more momentum I totally agree. Desire first before any thing else. I believe that spirit came from Martinelli. He is the new leader of the team. Arteta should just make him captain straight away |

Jodera: One thing or lesson this game taught me is that we lacked forwards (wingers) or attack all season. We created chances upon chances as normal arsenal would have created and also took purposeful shots like a top team. The midfield played well and even the defence wasn't under undue pressure cos the forwards were great. Tierney had a great game and so was xhaka who had an OK game (bar the free kick)
Just imagine what saka, martinelli, ESR were doing in that front. It even rubbed off on lacazette and he played a very good game. We were always on the front foot and the front press was great. No wonder Chelsea never had a shot on target (the closest they had was mason free kick that struck the bar)
Now what happened... We introduced willock and Pepe for Esr and martinelli, then our attack stopped. Chelsea increased their attack and our defence was under undue pressure. We now receiving shot on goal and on target. Not only did we concede a goal but also caused a penalty. We might have drawn the game if not for Leno save. All these happened just because our 2/4 of our attack was off.
This game typically tells us what we've been suffering this season and what we needed to correct. Come to think of it, how many cross and insha Allah we did today.?
If after today's game and Arteta still sticks to Willian and Pepe, then he's really not serious
Coyg!! We have wingers our problem is attacking midfield which Smith-Rowe did a good job of. If we have him or a decent signing in Jan, along side Partey, who be Liverpool? |

Chambers/ Mari both have come back from long absences and enjoyed game minutes but somehow Saliba has not seen minutes. I bought the excuse earlier about losing his mom, moving to the US and other issues but it is now apparent that we are mismanaging this kid. I am so worried about the state of our you guns.. BlueRayDick: I think the signing of mari and soares is something that had already been done before.this season. Those guys were on loan with option of buy ; it is understandable we will consider the buy option considering the fact that Bellerin seems to be on the decline, and Mitland-Niles seem to be more useful in LWB, RWB, CM etc than RB.....Also with Luiz, Chambers in and out of the team, Mustafi out of favours ( deservedly so), Mari's move was likely to be made permanent.
I think what messed everything up was the AM deal that didn't come tru.
Let's look at what the club will do in that direction in this January transfer window sha Good points raised. |

Jodera: So you sef don deh shalaye too .
Well, the bolded is true. If we like, let's carry 10 Gabriels full back (I'm not against Gabriel signing before someone will misconstrue me), if our attack and midfield dull, there's nothing we can do And we'll hardly win games.
One thing I know is that the best form of defence is attack, and if your midfield and attack is so good, defence will surely be less pressured. I know I've said such things lengthily before, and I don't intend to do such again.
Everybody have different opinions, and that's fine, as long as it's for the best interest for arsenal and there's no rancour among us then it's all good.
Mk me just dey try observe for now ... Here is what you need to know. Arteta has improved our defense but he did so at the detriment of the attack (please when I say defense or attack I am not talking of individuals but the playing pattern). I use figures because they are empirical, and what is empirical is fact. Take a look at the league table, how many goals have Liverpool conceded this season as the top team? 19. How many goals have Arsenal conceded? 18. So any person saying our defense is shiit is just being ignorant. The signing of Gabriel has helped our defending. Partey was meant to help the midfield. The only mistake was the failure to get an AM which would have helped our attack. If Arteta can fork out 50m and sign a very good AM just as United did with Bruno Fernandes, he will have one of the most balanced squad in PL. That is when I will judge his real tactical mind. |

Seems you don't even know what you're arguing about sef, so I'll just pass You are the one confusing yourself. It seems you are fond of misconstruing people's words may be because of your already fixed state of mind. I said Leeds are an attack minding team, this statement is different from saying they have good attackers. If indeed they have good attackers that becomes another topic as Tottenham who are defense minded also have good attackers. |

I will be shocked if we do..Watch them construe this to mean I don’t want an AM.. just watch! I also do not think we can attract known top AMs around bearing our current situation. pazienza: Martinelli in 45mins showed us what we lacked all season. Quality players with passion.
BTW. I can bet my left testis that if it was an Arsenal GK that did that to a City player, it would have been red card, but there wasn't even a foul given for that challenge on Martinelli. The GK got the ball but he also got the man, and he was the last man.
Foden goal was an offside all day long , how lines man can't see that beats my imagination.
Runnarson Arsenal career should have ended this night. They should bundle him back to Finland. What a calamity. The scout who recommended him should be sacked too. Wayward passes from the back all night and capped by howler for the City second goal.
Ceballos is a let down. Too many wayward passes when he attempted forward passes, doesn't have the legs to cover ground quickly nor the trickery to skip past players. That loan should end in loan. He is simply not good enough.
Elneny only knows how to play backward passes as well. Should be sold.
Willock continues failing his audition. Should be loaned out for two years or sold. Not good enough or not yet ready.
I liked what I saw in Balogun. Made one good move that presented Pepe with a good shooting chance that he characteristically ballooned, I wonder what they do in training sessions at Arsenal. Smith Rowe performance was encouraging.
Overall, it's another loss at Emirates, and I expect Chelsea to win easily come next game. Nwanna, I think that you are harsh on Willock, he was a threat with his runs and kept Rodri on his toes. He won us some corner kicks. As for the rookie goalie, he seems to have too much confidence. He even comes out of his box to collect pass! Yet he is still very much trainable, please don't end his career now. |
