Politics / Re: Yar’adua Made Me Acting President, Says Yayale by Spyker: 11:15am On Jul 25, 2011
What political point would this prove? Why did they not leak this information when the man was alive to defend himself.
I don't like to talk ill of the dead apart from Abacha, so guys, let Yaradua rest wherever he is.

As for Yayale, opportunity only comes but once, whether legal or illegal. Afterall, under Yaradua, Nigeria was illegally governed by his wife Turai.
Politics / Re: Rotimi Amaechi: Rivers Assembly Approves New Aircraft by Spyker: 11:09am On Jul 25, 2011
When a man enters power through the back door, does not have a manifesto or a project, what do you expect.
Any person who live in Rivers State would realize that we do not have road apart from Ikwerre Road and Aba road.
Amaechi's first tenor was filled with deceit, most of the project advertised on AIT Giant strides were propaganda.
With the rush to expand old road, one may think that Port Harcourt and indeed Rivers State would have good roads but we now realize that those were gimmicks aimed at awarding contracts to associates.
As of now, only Rumuola, Oginigba Trans Amadi roads has been completed. Those he started four years ago remain the way they are yet he has borrowed over N300Bn in the guise to complete this same road projects.

Rivers State is in debt and Amaechi is thinking of buying an aircraft. What a shame.
I don't blame him, the man does not have any plan or project for Rivers people, apart from paying the press to sing his praises.

So sad, I thought the crook in Rivers State should have been number one but his name was not even mentioned.
Family / Re: Does Marriage Mean More Expenses? by Spyker: 11:13am On Jul 05, 2011
Yes, marriage means more expenses.

Let's look at it from this angle, a single person cares for himself/herself alone, all she gets good for his/her needs and pleasures but a married person will always consider himself/herself, his/her husband/wife and children and this mean more expenses.

Just like in every human endeavour, there are gains and there loses hence you can not for the sack of expenses run away from the gains. I wonder if Armstrong never stepped out of the Space rocket, would he have discovered that he landed on the moon?

Life is all about positive and negative, gain and lose hence the expenses in marriage is negligible over the years (At old age).
Nairaland / General / Re: Worlds Longest Bridge Over Water by Spyker: 6:04pm On Jul 01, 2011
This road is 26miles long, with the bunch of greedy politicians in this country, my brother, I don't think this is possible.

Politics / Re: Just Been Posted To Borno (boko Haram) State &my Parents Insist I Boycott Service. by Spyker: 2:31pm On Jun 30, 2011
I will simply advise you to get a lawyer to write for redeployment to another state where Boko Haram and their likes don't operate, if need be, get a copy of the NYSC Act and let him quote the relevant section that permits you to seek for redeployment. Make sure this letter is copied to the Human Rights Activists, Attorney General of the Federation, the National Assembly and all those who are saddled with the responsibility of  the NYSC. If they refused, sue them for damages for deliberate denial, make sure it is made public by copying media houses.

I bet you, they will post you even to your home state.

If you think this is a bad option, just write your will and head for Maiduguri.
Romance / Re: Is It Ideal To Go Back To Your Ex Bf/gf That Left You For Some Other Boy/girl? by Spyker: 12:56pm On Jun 24, 2011
pepperoni:

@spyker Why YES? and Why NO? in your opinion, we broke up because he travelled out and was beginning to act funny, we wer always having series of quarrels after sumtym he called and said it was over dat he had gotten sum1 else. shikena

Yes if the reason for the breakup can be overcome by present situation. He traveled out and was acting funny, did he promise you marriage? If No, why then are you acting like you guys are engaged. If I were him, the only way I could get a girl off my back is to tell her I was involved with another (which might be the case) but does it stop him from loving you? I don't think so.

No, if he cheated on you before the break up, I always say that once a cheater, always a cheater. If he is serious about you, accept him back with certain conditions like "no s.ex., make preparations for you to join in or even do a small family introduction where native law and custom marriage rites would be done. If he is for real, he will certainly agree which I doubt he would.
Romance / Re: Is It Ideal To Go Back To Your Ex Bf/gf That Left You For Some Other Boy/girl? by Spyker: 4:03pm On Jun 23, 2011
Yes and No, it all depends on how and why you broke up.
Travel / Re: Is The Uk Worth Staying In Anymore Or Should One Consider Moving Back To Nigeria by Spyker: 4:01pm On Jun 23, 2011
Two sides to a coin. While others are thinking of leaving Nigeria for UK and Europe, you are thinking of returning.

If you really need to think, put these options as priority. What you get free in UK you pay heavily in Nigeria eg (a) Electricity (b) Security (c) Job Security (4) Economy

Apart from that, you have to consider your family, can they adjust to the Nigerian situation? What about you, what will you do, get a job or business? It's easier to return home but how to fit in will be the problem. I suggest you return first and settle before dragging your family back home.
A word is enough for the wise.

Food / Re: Is Rice, The Real African Culture? Africans Seems To Love Rice by Spyker: 3:11pm On Jun 23, 2011
RICE is a universally accepted meal which can be taken as breakfast, lunch and even dinner. It can be served in occasions and is no longer for the rich. So, if African's love rice, what then would you say of Asians and Europeans.
For me, rice is good anyday, anytime, anyhour.
Culture / Re: Why Do Nigerian Guys Like To Gossip? by Spyker: 3:08pm On Jun 23, 2011
I leave for work by 8am and return 9pm if traffic is good, I work Monday through Saturday since I am self employed, barely spend time at home, calls I make are clearly for business purpose, not more than 2mins per caller, I still wonder what time I have to gossip. I barely visit and I spend my Sundays resting after Church.

Honestly, my time is so choked up that I don't have time for idle talk, if a man gossip, check very well, he is either jobless, idle or a chronic womanizer.

NYSC / Re: 5 Kidnapped NYSC Corpers Freed By Rivers Police by Spyker: 4:33pm On Jun 20, 2011
Hmmm, four girls and a guy kidnapped for 12 days, while ransome was reduced from N100m to N10m and you say dem no pay? It's either they corper's paid in kind or the Government paid in cash, if they could not locate the corpers the first 24hours, they have paid, it's as simple as that and I believe the Police have no idea of where the corpers were even kept.

Well, we thank God for their safe release.

Romance / Re: What Could Be My Problem? by Spyker: 7:04pm On Jun 18, 2011
Do you have mouth odour that minutes after they agree to date you, they change their minds.
How do you dress, being goodlooking is from your judgment and not theirs, you may have a wonderful voice but on sighting you, they just pretend to like you.
What about speech, are you funny or straight. There are lots of after-thought turnoffs around you, be sincere to yourself, as you actually going for your class of girl?
Health / Re: The Doctor Said She Should Get Married On Time by Spyker: 6:48pm On Jun 10, 2011
This story is filled with lies, I wonder why it's on the front page.

(2) She is 21 and thinks she is a virgin
(3) The worst part is the part concerning the Doctor and the so called medical advise.

Nairaland / General / Re: How Can One Exceed 5000 Friends On Facebook by Spyker: 6:10pm On May 12, 2011
mummy3:

The person want to break record. I believe he or she adds every tom & manliness that comes his or her way. some people want to belong you know. May be the person just came out from the village and was introduced to facebook, then he or she decided to make friends with everyone.

This has nothing to do with breaking records, A Celebrity, a serving Public Officer like President, Governor or Senator has more than 10,000 friends including supporters.

All I need is the process or procedure, even if it is to be paid for.
Nairaland / General / How Can One Exceed 5000 Friends On Facebook by Spyker: 7:36pm On May 11, 2011
How can one exceed 5000 friends on facebook? Is there any fee attached to it? What are the various options available?
Politics / Re: Is 2011 Election The Best Election In Nigerian History? With Poll. by Spyker: 8:26pm On May 09, 2011
I don't know of other states but I will certainly tell you that there was no election in Rivers State, the entire process was a smoke screen to cover the very obvious rigging machine of the PDP and that of the INEC.
For me, 2011 election in Rivers State is a disgrace to Professor Jega, INEC and PDP.

Romance / Re: Right Time To Announce A Wedding? by Spyker: 12:12pm On Nov 12, 2010
For me, a month is okay but you must have done about 90% of the things by then. I would say if you are a Christian, your wedding preparation should start the day the church announces your marriage bane.
Car Talk / Re: Why Are You Driving Manual gear? by Spyker: 7:04pm On Nov 09, 2010
If you are still driving manual car, that means you are driving an old school car.
The entire world has gone beyond manual transmission, even luxury buses and trucks are now on automatic.
If not for poverty, i don't see anyone, i mean any person drive manual vehicles.

IMHO, automatic car gives me enough rest during long distance and also relaxation when faced with a chaotic traffic jam.

If our National carrier were not left to rot away and sold as scraps, airlines like Arik which is a result of stolen wealth would not be existing.

How I wish there is a link to this story so that I can post it on facebook for the world to see the type of hell Arik subject people to.
Romance / Re: Woman: Things You Should Never Apologize For. by Spyker: 12:40pm On Oct 26, 2010
It's fair while reading it and because it appears on a piece of paper or on a web page but not fair practically because if women were to practice what is written there, then we should not bother about preaching about "wives being submissive to their husband". For example,

Taking risks

Whether it’s skydiving or quitting to pursue a job you really want, you don’t owe an explanation to anyone for the risks you take if they involve only you. Life is too short to not pursue the type of life you want.

I won't subscribe to this behaviour because this might end badly and the man would be blamed for letting her act that way. I have seen in-laws causing and abusive their son-in-laws when negative things happen to their wives. S

Ujujoan:

^^^ Why are you dating a 24-year old boy

And why is he dating you    undecided

No offence but if I were 24, I won't date a 34-year old guy . . . and incase you are wondering why, it's because he's too old!

You don't cease to amaze me, a 34year old man is too old for a 24 year old girl? Not in Nigeria and I mean not in Nigeria.
