You country is technically at war it's only reasonable that the security sector is the one booming at this period. Most Nigerian youths don't see this at all, when you talk security they think it's one guard sanding at a gate. It's beyond a guard standing at a gate. As we speak companies providing guards also train some of them on CCTV monitoring and surveillance. This is extra bump in pay for those individuals. Outside that scope there are lots of drones been used in surveillance grey areas in some residential areas of Lagos, Abuja, Port Harcourt from what I know off. There are many security softwares uses in building database of persons in a community and shared with the force authority. Jobs are many but it's only few people that are looking. |
As a former personnel now in the private space, talking in your head is very normal. Because all years of training is based on mental stimulation to continually evaluate risk environment. Were I reside I have a mental Archive of almost everyone living in my estate and roughly what they do. So when something is out of place I ask in my head what's happening and what's this person doing. |
pricklewane:Sorry if what I said offended you. Am neither any of the tribe you mentioned or any of tribe in the country nor your country man. Just connected via marriage Thanks for your understanding |
These guys are one of most difficult to infiltrate. I guess some solution is not always force, good old times. |
Idiotmod:Intelligence is the ability to outmaneuver your opponent without them ever noticing. Boko Haram and ISWAP bank on network of informants within an environment. Therefore you as an army can't kill an entire population in a location just because you combing for network of informants. Thus the reason it will very hard for any army to outrightly defeat terrorist groups. It's on this front you now introduce sophisticated means of combating them such as signals via air and space along with technical intelligence. This is what makes western and super powers different from third world countries. Also when you train as a counter intelligence officer, you operate at a higher level than other intelligence operative because your job is to rope out collaborators internally and foreign operatives. So the narrative of personnel's sabotaging the NA efforts are not 100% correct. It can only be accurate if some the counter intelligence operatives are compromised. |
Good seeing tennis fans on this forum |
Idiotmod:It's very difficult on an active war. Because the terrorist knows he would be caught or killed at a point. They can also use countering measures such as false flag operations that would expose him as a double agent. There is an eye that watches the eye that watches |
Lemme help you guys out from an outside perspective. This war in Nigeria is more complex than what most Nigerians think. Every war is always an avenue for vested interest to utilize as cover in order to gain their share or have control. The Islamic agenda is very open because Boko Haram and ISWAP have made that open from the onset. Next are the arms dealers.... they are interested in keeping the war going because it's more money for them. One unique trend is Nigeria MODs high frequency of engagement with Bulgarian and Serbia arms dealers outside the pakistanis, Chinese and Americans Here is how arms dealers gain.. you sign an agreement for x amount of weapons. Typically within Bulgaria MOD, they network none official dealers to act as middle men. On the official channel timetable between Nigeria and Bulgaria is drawn out on time of delivery and all necessary information. Typically there is a chain of command structure that documents go through before approval is granted then stocking and shipping. Within this chain is were most of the dirty happens.. let's say Bulgaria is to send x amount of RPGs or javline... Their military attache of Bulgaria based in Nigeria will be monitoring things on ground and giving feedback.... it's the Information the regulatory committee within Bulgaria MOD will now use to reach out to third party and negotiate percentage. There are technicalities in this area that I would touch on another day. Once this is set up, they communicate the new situation on ground and position of things to their military attache in Nigeria, who then reaches out to a representative in the MOD. By doing this, the new arms dealing agent is then brought in as the last minute replacement due to inefficiencies from their own end( do remember this is just a cover story to justify the new price) Because Nigeria is in urgent need, a new premium is then put forward. So the delay, urgency and Bulgaria known for quality arms will force the Nigerian MOD to acquire the weapons for the new premium. Why did I have to say this, there is what they call keep the cycle going.Meaning feed the engine for as long as you can. Because they will always be buyers. |
Kylekent59:My also I thought FG have come after them ![]() |
Ok |
FEGEITOK:Yes |
WiszyFraud:I find your post very educative, keep up the good work. |
It's very funny how the a director DSS kaduna mention IMEI grabber. IMEI grabber aka stingray is an old tech that needs to patched up and updated frequently. Most multinational cooperates utilize it in protecting important personnel on zones known as high risk. In addition to that foreign countries utilize it on Nigeria soil at high frequency. One serial offender is a very big communist country. The signatures captured by a counter device shows big spike in what we call unique signal. The unique signals are evidence of high level signals intelligence taking place. These signals showed up very very frequently at strategic location that have our communication regulator, largest global hotel, INEC, some embassies and residents of top politicians. The British embassy had to relocate from that vicinity when this said guys moved in. Those who reside in Abuja would know the location am talking about. My point is attacks on Nigeria is multidimensional |
pricklewane:I was thinking from a national Angle but you all brought in tribal sentiments. Well it's well.... It's very well |
Ghost1994:It's very heartbreaking, innoson is Nigerian but this Chinese patronage is mind blowing... Very disappointed |
Redomi:Can you send me the persons number? |
This is the only selection I like from buhari. As a counterinsurgency specialist he's needed because his operations goes beyond just field. He's got the ability to uproot moles within |
Kandeed:You made very valid points but I understand your level of anger, thus the pockets of insults which can be controlled. |
Response of Nigerians to educate themselves on how to carry out risk analysis and assessment is very low. Something one must understand is that government can't do everything because they can't be every where at the same time. Learn how practical intelligence can be used to avert criminality. Intelligence is the bread and butter of every security operations. The need of firearms is not needed majority of the time if the intelligence is good. We are at war with multiple enemies so it's only logical you educate yourselves properly. |
The station is looking good. At least something to be cheerful about |

Very impressive, Nigerians should keep pushing for ourselves. FG isn't helping with terrible power infrastructure. Nigerians are innovative people, so don't loose hope. The solution is in every individual Nigerian and the private sector and not in some people hands that feel they are making decisions. |
KingAzari:A trend on this nairaland is that a lot of people pose as an opposing tribe to sow seed of discord. The aim is also to cause rivalry between eastern and western region. But what beats my imagination is the inability for people on both sides to see the deceit and avoid online confrontation. Till the southern region can shappen their mindset and get the jaws of death off them, there will be most likely be a devastating consequences both can't get up from. For by wise counsel you will wage your own war, And in a multitude of counselors there is safety. |
Going after bandits or militia in a jungle is one of the most difficult games. Because once in that environment of combat it can transform from gunfight to hand to hand combat. And it is normally advantageous to the guys with knowledge of the forest. A trap wire system using sensor node trackers can be used in creating a geo fencing capable of picking multiple movements at the same time. As long there are communication mast within the vicinity. Southerners this is were your intelligence comes into play. Forget about the firepower, why I said so is because there is always a way that one sought itself... As long it's not a air fight knowledgeable men within will do something about it. |
I wish I could consult for the people at the helm of affairs in the communities and state government. These attacks can be detected a mile away but it would required some sophisticated means of doing so. Here are some assumptions everyone must know and have peace. These bandits have a military grade training via official or back channels, it might not necessarily be from Nigeria. Their mode of selecting targets have a pattern, because it is aided by good knowledge of the area and topography also. One of which is, the further a community is from accessing basic infrastructure such as security the easier the get away. What ametokun can do is map out the pockets of villages in the areas.... Their proximity to each other and their proximity to various bush. They should also understand the topography of the bushes and their connection to forest.... How motorable those areas are. Then there is a technique I can suggest it utilized a Venn diagram and signals identifier. Once the technique have been created and deployed, the bandits time frame of operations will be reduced. This in itself will be a shock to them The least motorable areas are always gonna be the preferred choice of the bandits because they know response time of security would be none existence. |
Why does IPOB operations always have pictures and bandits operations never have pictures? Something people must understand when you see pictures of dead terrorist that have threaten a nation existence, there a rise in patriotism. When you see pictures of dead people not known for extreme violence you loose the narrative of preaching unity and peace. |
This is no news my friend Taking a picture from different angles of one vehicle isn't news my friend. Now Carnage is multiple vehicles with trail of destruction. Sometimes we should weigh within ourselves if certain news is worth putting up. |
Risk analysis and prevention training. Where there is no counsel, the people fall; But in the multitude of counselors there is safety. |
