I was a real bad guy....the most troublesome and annoying kid in the neighbourhood. I got no time for chores. I was quite good at breaking plates...especially when coerced to do dishes. I have broken more plates to the extent that I was given a life ban from entering the kitchen tongue

...no just ask me to mop the floor cos I will dismantle the mop stick after use. I will only accept to cook if we have meat starched somewhere in the kitchen...and for the car...chaiiiiii...I pity my popsy if he forget money inside..."moving things".....I was a quite good at spoiling not fixing

Someone is trying that recommendation stuff on my head but I'm indifferent about it.
All I know is this, when I'm ready and I meet my classic man, I'm getting in regardless of whether it's by recommendation or not.

In summary you are indifferent about either...more like fate, when it comes to meeting mr right...

When people criticise Nigerian Universities I begin to wonder? I attended a Federal University in this Same country where we were 74 in class we all had our personal sits in the Studio/theatre given to us. He had so many lecture theatres and all the people I met were cool headed. Then I begin to wonder? Where did you guys study? I mean which school. Pls I am proud of my school? I had a friend studying at Reading university England studying same course with me and same level. Sometimes he mails his assignment to me and we discussed. I found him knowledgeable and so did he. I gave him great insights about his work. The only difference I saw was "He was better exposed"... because of the environment where he found himself. I still don't fancy the university Abroad. If we had better industries , Hospitals, Factories,Infrastructure, Tourism, good Security, continuity in governance we will get more foreigners in our country that will attend our schools, bring in their own exposure and these industries will keep us apprised of latest technologies that way we can stand with our head high.....
NB...if you did not study in Havard, MIT, Princeton, Stanford, Cambridge, Oxford, University of London and Imperial college...forget ur level...na the same thing

I received much criticism on this forum when I narrated how I recommended a lady for cousin. My family and I are strong protagonist of "Marriage by Recommendation" and it has yielded great result since Adam. I have two elder brothers, both are married via recommendation and the marriage is almost perfect. When I look at them I just want to get married. I have female and male cousins who also got married and we seldom have family dramas. There also rules, for instance you are not allowed to date for more than three months. At total six months if there are some reasons or matters that needed to be clarified. After six months if marriage does not occur, he/she is advised to withdraw from such courtship. The person making the recommendation must not be of questionable character and must have a sound knowledge about the other person's family. You are also free to make ur own choice as long as you can provide detailed information about your partner and the information must be verifiable (not I know the mum and dad, she was born in lagos...that is all). You are also free to decline immediately when linked with the other partner if you do not find him or her attractive or after the first three months of the relationship. If the relationship exceeds three months you have to give an excuse that is beyond reasonable doubt.
This process helps to reconcile partners faster when there is conflict. It also increase the bond of the lady and her in-laws. Since the mother was in total support of the marriage. You are easily loved by the family because we all married you. grin

...It becomes easier to dig deep into the family you are getting married to, you know their history (for instance you won't like to get married in a family where so many members of the family are mentally unstable or the family where death often reside in the evenings).... Either of the partners do not waste their time and it must be quite patent that both are ready for marriage: age wise, financially (for the guy, he must have a job, not a potential grin

) and mental wise before they are finally linked. A recommended Marriage is not limited to tribe alone, as in the case of my aunt who married from ijebu ode...the guy was linked with her by a family friend very close to the guy's family. It sounds archaic...but we love it

NB....I do not disapprove of spontaneous Marriages. I just want you to air your opinion about either of them and why you prefer one to the other....No Insults....If you are here just to pick out grammatical error..i recommend Yaba left...

Scotland and England are members of the United Kingdom or Great Britain. People often think only about England when they refer to Britain and it is quite wrong because Britain comprises; England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. When people think about Britain, they believe the British speaks perfect english, that is true but among the kingdoms that makes up Britain, English language differs. The Scots speak slightly different from the English. Sometimes the Scots makes a neater expression compared to the English.

Example... Scotsmen will say " What like are the gardens at the other end of the zoo?". Englishmen will say "What are the gardens at the other end of the zoo like?". There is some distance between the Englishman's "What is" and "Like". Thus, the Scottish expression is much neater.

THESE ARE OTHER DIFFERENCES
1. The Englishman speaks of his "retirement" the Scottish speaks of his "retiral"
2. Scotsmen often use "Outwith" in a sentence instead of "Outside"
3. Scotsmen often use "purpose" in place of "Propose"...A Scottish will say " I purpose to apply for permission next week"
4 Englishman will say "he died of stroke". Scots will say "he died of shock"
5 Scots "he wants out" Englishman "he wants to go out"
6 Scots "Have you plenty money?" Englishman "Have you plenty of money?"
7 Scots "She said to tell you to come home" Englishman "She said I was to tell you to come home".

NB..The example above those not imply that the Scottish is correct. (...Just pointing out the difference)

When an Englishman tells you "I will be with you presently" he means I will be with you soon. But for a Scottish it means "I will be with you right now".
When an Englishman in a business letter writes "we are dealing with the matter presently" he means that his firm will deal with the matter soon or in a short while. A Scottish recipient of the letter will conclude that the matter is being dealt with at the moment. In legal proceedings in the UK, the legal language of both kingdoms gives the word "Presently" its Scottish meaning. Is it not strange? grin

...Be careful when you say the "British speaks Perfect english" ....Remember to say "It is I" when you knock at your neighbours door just to borrow his machete. Remember, you are borrowing not lending....sha return the machete when you design that guy finish wey dey always come "lie" ...not "lay"... with your babe.
