European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Piermario Morosini Dies After Collapsing On The Pitch by stagger: 7:29pm On Apr 14, 2012
Footballers are playing too many games.

Back when I started following the Champions League in 1993/94 season (the one where AC Milan beat Barca 4-0 in the final), there were just 8 teams (the League leaders).

Now the format has been increased to accommodate the teams from Eastern Europe. Now a typical team plays on Saturday, then plays again on Tues/Wed, then another Saturday, etc. If you are a national team player from South America, you could play for your club in Europe, fly 20 hours to meet up with a World Cup qualifier of friendly on a FIFA day, then fly back to rejoin your club, then play on Saturday, then another game mid-week, etc.

THERE ARE TOO MANY MATCHES NOW. Even the May to Aug break is now truncated because of playing tours to increase the fan base in order to raise money by selling club jerseys and memorabilia to finance the excessive salaries of footballers.

The root of all this is that the game has become so highly commercialised and the players are the ones paying the price. It is time to stop the rot before we start seeing players collapsing every alternate game. This is too much!
CelebritiesRe: New Facts Emerge On Dbanj And Don Jazzy Split by stagger: 10:42am On Apr 13, 2012
titus3: The wise men who said this before knew what they were saying...

Money is the root of all evil...

Personally I like Don Jazzy more than D banj, but from the story, it is obvious that DBanj contributed a lot to the growth of the Mohit's business empire, while Don Jazzy took charge of the music development, which is the foundation of their success. So it's really a partnership

My suggestion is that they choose a particular day as their official "divorce date" and all assets and liabilities earned before that day, be split 50-50.

Its the honourable thing to do, and they should forget about who bought what for who. It was all in the spirit of friendship, so I wonder why it should all be brought to ruins now... sad
Please stop misquoting the bible. It is the love of money and not money itself.
SportsEric Abida Undergoes Liver Transplant by stagger(op): 7:43pm On Apr 10, 2012
Barcelona has confirmed that defender Eric Abidal is currently undergoing a liver transplant.

The French defender entered the operating room at the Barna Clinic at 10.00CET (4p.m. Nigerian Time) for the crucial surgical operation.

The operation will last for eight hours. In March, Abidal was diagnosed with a liver problem and doctors recommended a transplant, barely a year after having a tumor removed from his liver.

Abidal’s cousin has volunteered to donate one part of his liver to him.

EducationRe: My Undergraduate Friend is Depressed About Her CGPA by stagger: 10:52pm On Apr 09, 2012
Let us face the facts. We all studied in the same f***ked up Nigerian system. How does that excuse a CGPA of 1.48? A CUMULATIVE grade point average of 1.48?

Seriously what the hell was this girl even doing in the university? The babe is worse than an olodo rapata!
EducationRe: My Undergraduate Friend is Depressed About Her CGPA by stagger: 9:18pm On Apr 09, 2012
I am very sure this your friend is one of those girls that did nothing but runs throughout her school years. Even 2-3hrs a day of consistent daily study can easily put someone at a level of 4.0 and above.

1.48 as CGPA? My God!
huh huh huh shocked shocked shocked

Why can't our undergrads render what is Caesar's to Caesar for crying out loud?

TravelRe: Lokoja-Abuja Road Traffic Holdup: Worst Ever! by stagger: 5:04am On Apr 07, 2012
Yesterday was heading to Enugu from Asaba and got stuck at the Niger Bridge for 2 hours.

Why can't we have a second Niger Bridge? So much talk and no action from GEJ's government. Though I must commend them for the repair of the Benin-Ore-Lagos road but it is not enough.

So many ignorant posts here.

I travelled from Benin to Lagos in February and I can authoritatively state that THE ROAD HAS BEEN FIXED. I did the journey in three hours fifty minutes, with a 15 minute stop over for lunch at Ore.

Kudos to the government for this.
TravelRe: Fuel Scarcity Hits Nigerian Aviation by stagger: 9:47am On Apr 02, 2012
Oga Boyloaf,

There is no strutural difference between Jet-A1 (Aviation-Type Kerosene or ATK) and Household kerosene (HHK). Which is why Dual Purpose Kerosene (DPK) is used for two purposes; household cooking and as aviation fuel.

So there is nothing like air crash happening!

You provided me with an ultimatum of three months for insulting your "demi-slapping-god". . .and here i am saying "IN YOUR FACE FOOOL"!!!

You and your dumb arse Bishop aint got nothing on me! cool

If you've got at least some common sense, I'd hope you can take this lesson with you; Never Never Never issue empty threats/vain ultimatums to people who are well capable of shyting all over you. You'd most certainly end up looking they way you look right now; completely stooopid!

I hope to find you somewhere else giving some silly opinion, I'm more than happy to set your arse on fire!
Your mother! It is your mother's unclothedness you are insulting! Idiot! Let me finish my professional course. I will feed your carcass to vultures. Son of a LovePeddler!

After this insane comment of yours, I traveled home to enjoy a blissful Christmas break. My dad looked younger than he has ever been and each of my siblings had a fantastic story to tell. I resumed at work in the first week of January to a better role and jaw dropping opportunities. Life couldn't have been any more beautiful.

I hope you will now see for yourself that you must be the idiot in all of this. I also hope you'd now realize that calling your Bishop an utter moron wouldn't stop time after all.
I even forgot that planet earth still had imbeciles like you. Count yourself lucky you have been off my radar..

I have too many important things to do that waste my time on imbeciles like you! And some advice..stay off my radar.
PoliticsRe: Suits: Why Do Nigerian Presidents Hate Wearing Them? by stagger: 2:39pm On Mar 29, 2012
If not that Nigeria is linguistically heterogenous, are we not supposed to be speaking a native language such as the way the East Africans speak Swahili?

I cannot understand why some people prefer to be enslaved by their penchant for everything the white man throws at us.

First they gave us foreign names (thank God my father threw away his and stopped the madness in our family line)

Then they told us that if you can't speak English, then we are not educated.

Then they gave us a new mode of dressing. Now we even copy their lifestyles; divorcing up and down.

Nonsense. In my house, I tie a loin cloth and most days of the week, I wear a short native jumper. I can't recall when last I wore a tie or a suit; in this hot weather?

So people still travel at night? In this time and age with all the bad roads and numerous stories of horror, especially the one that occurred 2 years ago at Benin-Ore road where people were crushed after being laid on the road by robbers?

Naija people...stubborn to the very end.

The same response that a top govt official gave stakeholders in 2004 when the expired HIV drugs scandal became public after the Nigerian govt could not sustain its subsidy of HIV drugs and Bill Gates came to our rescue with 100million dollars worth of drugs.

Some ignorant people never seem to amaze me.

Journalists and people with nefarious characters will start looking for information to use as blackmail. These people asking for the Osun governor's medical records are very stupid indeed!

RomanceRe: Would You Allow Your Wife To Work In A Beer Bar? by stagger: 6:35pm On Mar 21, 2012
I was with a popular Bayelsa politician in a joint somewhere in 2006. After the man was drunk on beer and some good food to go with it, the man began to talk. First he refused to pay and caused a very big stir (this is a man that had 25 cars, 3 hotels and several houses as at that time).

Naturally, the woman began to make trouble. I was shocked when the man said he would not pay because the woman was still owing him some rounds of sex. That she was always collecting money from him but she was very stingy with sex. Then he went ahead to start describing the things he used to do with her backside during their sexual escapades. Of course the woman kept quiet and said no more. He then ordered her to come out, and when she did, he brought out a big bundle of money, smacked her backside several times and asked her to come and see him that night. That she was too stubborn but that he would make it up to her. She just shed a tear or two, took the money and went inside.

IN A PUBLIC PLACE WITH MORE THAN 100 PEOPLE AROUND. To say I was shocked was a huge understatement. If I was a Caucasian, I probably would have changed colour from pink to blue to purple!

Now imagine your wife in such a place or in such a situation.
