I am a Christian, and a lot of people here know my stand when the MOG bashers take the stage. But I must say categorically here that churches have NO BUSINESS disturbing the sleep of others around them. It is wicked and heartless and God will never sanction it. It is a failure of town planning in Nigeria. Look at where Winners Chapel is sited on Sapele Road; far away from where people live, but accessible enough for those who want to worship God there. This is the model that should be adopted and really, it is the urban planning guys who are to blame, because if allocations of land are not given to churches in residential areas, then this would not happen. I can only commiserate with the OP but seriously, there are laws against noise pollution and the church should be called to order by making them strip off the external speakers. There is no reason for placing external speakers. ABSOLUTELY NO REASON! |

The OP is just an attention seeker with nothing but emptiness to offer the human race. I wonder why people waste time answering such people. |
Time was when I was always woken up by the 5am call to worship from a mosque close to my house. Now as a Christian, I do not support churches being built close to residential areas. God does not support our causing discomfort to others and breaking the law in the name of worship. But what is good for the goose is also good for the gander. Of course, we all know what happens in the FCT any Friday the Vice President is going for prayers. You dare not find yourself on any roads leading to and from the Central Mosque. These are the things that should be addressed. |
Demain_man:Apparently you do not work in a place where spiritual battles occur on a daily basis. My neighbour here who was made a director in PPMC did not last 2 weeks on that job before he met his untimely death. If you have no understanding of an issue, try to find out more about it instead of making blanket statements here. I had known my wife 10 years and all those years, she was speaking while I was a complete nonentity in that area. Today I even speak more than she does and there are days when I pray in tongues for an hour straight, especially when I am going for business meetings where I know all sorts of competing spiritual interests will be in attendance. |
Speaking in tongues is a deeper level of prayer. As the bible says, he who speaks (i.e. prays) in tongues speaks forth mysteries and only the Holy Spirit (not even the person praying it) can understand it. My wife speaks in tongues. I started it relatively late and I can tell you that it has not changed the way we are with each other. We only pray in tongues during prayer, because that is where it is used. It is a marvel that many Christians do not understand speaking in tongues but can understand when native doctors and occultic men are mumbling incantations. Their incantations are an attempt to mimic it and when they use it, we all see the effects of what they do against people who are without covering. Speaking in tongues does what a satellite guided missile does. Our human understanding is limited and we can never know the evil being planned by those we eat with, work with, play with and move with. All of us live in town. DO you know what that uncle you gave money to in the village in December has used the currency notes for? Some of them take it to covens and put spells on people. You come back to town and suddenly, life is hard for you and you do not know the source of your problems. But the Holy Spirit who searches all things knows and when I engage in speaking in tongues, I do it knowing that I am daily releasing missiles of death and destruction into the camp of my enemies and creating openings for my life where the enemy has put blockades. And I tell you what? IT WORKS! So OP, do not be afraid that your wife speaks in tongues. If you live in a place like Abj where married women sleep with married men for favours, contracts, etc, you would be thankful that you have a wife who is God-fearing and prays with you morning and night at home in the true tongues of the Holy Spirit and not speaking "strange tongues" as another man is hammering her in one hotel. Just my 2 cents! |
Enter the Oyedepo bashers. Just watch it. They will soon enter here. Enemies of progress. |
idtiwo:So the best way is to buy MY intellectual property from another person? I am a busy person. Throughout last week, I was in at least 8 different states. Now you have put up your email, I will reply you. But you should not attempt to buy my product from another person; my lawyers are always on standby to handle such violations of intellectual property laws. |
ogogoromaster:You are very stupid for that statement you made. HIGHLY STUPID! And having said that, I would advocate churches pay tax on revenue sources to support the maintenance of amenities that are used such as roads. But then, how many of the tax advocates here pay tax, especially the drunken ogogoro man who made that stupid post above? |
Ijogz K:What is the proximity of Broad Street to Adeniji/Idumagbo/Idumota axis? It is not walking distance so why are you trying to discredit the story? Why not take a N100 bike to the affected area and then report back. |
Yep! Robbers invaded our estate once and I was so dead tired. Went to put off the gen by 2am not knowing that several houses had already been ransacked. Some of them heard me close the door and came out to know who it was. Their voices alerted a neighbour who was still sleeping and she called the police. Response time: THREE MINUTES. The robbers were later captured and executed (extra-judicially though but who cares?) Na dat day I come know say not all Nigerian Police are bad. |
boazic:I will send you an email so you provide more details. |
sholatech:I can confirm this as well. I changed at N158 at Yaba on Thursday. |
ireke:You go pay 30K for consultation? Bc I am crazy crazy busy now and will have to do some extraordinary rearrangement of my time to accommodate your request. If yes, indicate here and leave your email address. |
Hmm, I think he just found out he is gonna need underwear made of steel for a long long time, especially when he is in the bathroom. I am not sure he factored this into the equation. |
I cultivated plantain, cassava and a palm tree on a plot of land at our backyard when I was a kid, so I know the rudiments. The problem with plantain is the black cigatoca disease which came into Nigeria in 1986 that causes the withering of the plant. The only processing of cassava I did was to convert it into garri and starch. It is something I have nursed doing on a commercial scale. My problem is that I am based in Abuja now and I am not sure the rainfall pattern here is good for the plantain. I would prefer to do it in the SE or SS where I am more familiar with the terrain. I am aware that Dangote has a 6,000 acre farm on which he farms pineapples for his Dansa Pineapple fruit drink. It will be interesting to follow this thread. |
You are a bastard thief. Na God go punish you. Fraudster! |
The boy's English speaks volumes of the kind of upbringing he has had and how serious he has been in school. |
Arsenal is gone. 3-0! |
Tokotaya:You know that a woman in a position of authority would want to show another woman who is the boss in a particular zone. |
Stupidity all around. I have once been flogged 24 strokes of the cane along with every boy in the class when I was in Primary 5. Till date, my parents never heard of that incident; my dad and that teacher grew up in the village together. If i had dared mention it to my dad, he would have continued from where the teacher left off. Children of today are too spoilt. I do not even want to talk about kids bred abroad. After I saw a friend's 10 year old niece fighting his elder sister (who was the girl's mum and they live in Scotland), that was the day I decided that my children can NEVER be bred abroad. And they will be punished when they are wrong, either by me or in school by their teachers. |
pretty_boi:Any girl who demands for phone is not marriage material. My girlfriend at the time who is now my wife never asked me for a phone even for one day. I am the one who has bought her as a surprise. One Val day, she even surprised me with some Italian shirts. This is how it should be. If I remember my Biology right, relationships should be symbiosis and not parasitic in nature. |
This Minaj woman pisses me off anytime I see her. Most naija girls are even finer than she is by far. Don't really know what the whole Nicki Minaj stuff is all about anyway. |
Ebonyi is one of the sad cases of states that have been run down by PDP. Poverty reigns supreme in that state. Nowhere is there a classic example of looting of state funds than in Ebonyi state. Ochudo has run the state into the ground. |
Just drove from Warri to Lagos, and I am trying to eat after not having taken anything the whole day. Lousy hotel is wasting my time and I am seething at this point. The way I am feeling, getting laid is the farthest thing from my mind. I do not celebrate Valentine anyway; na Valentine my family go chop? |
300 consecutive life sentences should be good enough for him; one for everyone he tried to kill. |
Changed at $158 in Warri today. Come dey wonder why the thing come dey fall, abi na mallam cheat me? |
I am sure the Ikwerres and Yorubas should be able to explain better to use why they do such things. Of course they will tell you that the road passes through their village; what can you do? Afterall, no be police dey give them clearance to block the roads? Many policemen will follow the Naira note to their graves. Terrible things we see in Nigeria! |
It was just after the ASUU strike of 1992. Remember my dad who is a hardman type of guy shedding loads of tears when I left the house to the unknown. Hit school, stayed with a friend. Decided to move around to see the school a little, and blundered into a female hostel. Remembered a very cold look and reply I got from a female student when I asked her what hostel that was. Later found out this lady was a Deeper Life girl (her behaviour was not befitting of a Christian I must confess and it ticked me off). Next day, went to student affairs and discovered I had been posted to a hostel reserved for the notorious cult guys in my school. Basically tried to stay out of trouble, and avoided girls because at that time in Naija, the use of condoms was not widespread and there were no drugs for HIV, so abstinence was the answer. Still can't believe it is 20 years now. |
globalaid:Same reply as above. Read what others did to get the manual. It ain't free. |
ZE:You've got to be kidding me! |
