1. Please has the ban been lifted on ATM withdrawal in the Rebulic using Naira Master card?
Can we now withdraw from south africa atm with our Nigeria cards?

2. Please I want to know if it is good for me to convert my naira to dollar here in Nigeria and latter change it from dollar to rand when i get to the republic.

3. And what is the maximum rand some one can carry along when travelling that the law enforcement will allow?

I need your view on it..... Thanks..
Your Master Card still work in SA but for some banks you have to enable your card for international use so u can check with your bank if you have to enable ur card

This thing is simple. I applied for 5 days single entry on Wednesday 27th of January and by evening Friday 29th I received a text message for collection. I went for pickup today and was given 3 months multiple.
I used protea hotel midrand for hotel reservation and no deposit was required. You get confirmation number in your mail. I reserved flight with SAA. As for funds, what matters most is your account cash flows. I submitted salary account and non-salary account statements with periodic and moderate cash flows. Letter of intro from office, office id card, self introduction letter (very important), yellow card and application form.
People should avoid all those tout agents. One even boasted to me I would never be given visa because South Africa visa is runs. He wanted to collect 150k.
You guys out there can do it yourself. Nothing special about visa from any country. Just prep yourself wella and give the embassy what they require, then you are good to go. Chikena.
Please pay for your hotel before leaving Nigeria

Hello Housemates, I love u all..the collective information from this group helped me in obtaining SA VISA without any stress or use of any agent..Huge thanks most especially to Staggerlee and keneking...Keneking came to my rescue even wen I was confused Wat to fill infront of the vfs officer...I had just relocated to a new apartment 1 week before I submitted and was confused if 2 weeks is enuf to suffix a permanent address convincingly...I filled in the 2 weeks and submitted alongside everything requested on the check list...It wasn't stressful....just explain any unclear information on your letter of introduction and you will be good...I submitted 2 weeks old flight reservation from SAA...I requested for 5days single entrance but was given 3 months Visa + multiple entrance...I believe this is enuf to encourage people that want to do it alone without using any agent...Good luck
Thanks, but am not sure I did anything extraodinary, Glad u can visit SA and have fun

No one checks the visa of a 3 year old before he or she is enrolled in school. They can only go to what they call pre-school! Real school starts when they are 6 years.
Accompany visa is done @ vfs

Hello house. I think I'm getn fed up wit ds issue of visa. As I posted here in december dat I was denied study visa bcs I went to vfs,I saw someone 2day at d embassy who came from Vfs to certify his visa for his wife's accompanying visa. He told me that he did his PhD visa at d same vsf under visitors permit on thursday last week, and by monday this week he was called to come pick up his visa and was given multiple entry. Same vfs that said they don't process study permit.
That apart, I was told at d embassy 2 weeks ago that I can add my two kids to my wife's study permit application at d embassy. On getting there 2day to submit my wife's application, they told her she has 2 options to add her kids:
1. Either as accompanying at the vfs. But in this case, the kids will not be able to attend school in SA.
2. Or to look for school for them and apply for study permit for them at d embassy.
For both options,we would have to wait for d outcome of our individual applications b4 this can be done. Presently, we don't have the time in our hands. Both of us should have resumed in our school but due to all these ambiguities.we travel to lagos almost every week, wasting money and risking lives bcs of incoherent information.
Please who can tell us the best way to go about this bcs we are planning to go again to lagos next week for d kids? Thanks.
Bros u are giving yourself head ache, just go to the embassy and apply for study visa, you and your wife should apply separately. When u guys get ur study visas, then go to vfs and apply for your kids, any other way is just luck or trial and error.

@femiaction pls where do I get rand o. do I need to get dollars and change to rand when I get to durban airport?
I have not been to naija in like 18 months so really I don't know what obtains, what I do for close family and friends is I make them pay naira in my acct and I give them rands (but I don't do it for outsiders). As at last night my visa card from Diamond bank still works here, I think u can buy Rands at Murtala Mohammed or u can risk it and bring ur master or visa card. But really it is up to u

Good day. I am applying to study at the CISCO IT ACAdemy in Capetown and i have just gotten my admission. The course starts Feb1 2016. How do i go about my visa Processing. Pls shed more light on the whole issue and is there express application as my date is near
You need to get a medical aid first in SA and Medical and police reports in Naija also Yellow fever card. Also a good bank statement and you need a proof of accommodation in SA (Cape Town). No express application process unfortunately.

thanks staggerlee, your advice is welcomed. i appreciate it. i have sand ton on my mind before i posted the question but i discovered it is one of the costliest area in Johannesburg and also it is secured in respect to crime.
i have checked hotels but at times what they show on the net is not actually what you met on the ground. sometimes people that have traveled before you do give ideas of the hotel with the area. can you still shed more lights. thanks for your time.i have book a ticket for the trip already
When u visit a city u go to the best and most secure places, you don't go to obscure places, you don't expect a visitor from oversees in lagos staying @ ojota, u will probably recommend Ikoyi, VI and so on.
Holidays are expensive, when I travel I stay in New York, NY not in queens or brooklyn. The Hotels in Sandton are of standard, Hilton, Radisson, Michael Angelo, City Lodge, Intercontinental, Southern or Tsogo Sun, so many hotels. So you have more than enough to chose. Transportaton and security is a big issue in JHB, so I won't recommend other smaller cities to u, but if u have a car or can rent a car u can stay in places like Midrand, Randburg, Bryanston, or even Centurion. But without a car you will have difficulties moving around.

wow house everybody keep quiet and fail to comment here. is there any problem with my question?
Nothing wrong with your question, Jhb is quite a busy city, so I will sudgest u stay in Sandton since you will be here for 4 days. As per hotel just use Google to search for hotels in Sandton, Sandton is a highbrow area but nice with malls for shopping. You can also visit Gold reef city in the South of JHB, Montecasino in fourways, Vilakazi street in Soweto. But for proper Holidays, go to Durban or Cape Town

I was in a hurry to get those questions answered especially on hotel reservations/booking but @femiaction has answered. You can still help with this though.

I saw on SA visa requirements checklist that a third party website is not accepted for hotel reservations, is agoda.com not a third party website?

Also, do SA embassy stamp Passports, if visa is rejected?
Why don't you go to the hotel website and book and pay, ur visa or mastercard can still work abroad.
Your passport will be stamped, if rejected based on fruadulent documents

You wont be able to change your visa from SA. You will be forced to come back home as getting a spousal visa will be very difficult to get. Whether you get married in SA or in Nigeria, you will have to apply from here. I have met a girl who was on a study visa in SA who had to come back to naija to apply for a spousal visa.
You can change from study to anything, you can change to spousal from study. The only visa u can't change from is is visitor's/tourist visa
