samtol4: Don't discourage people from making a move that may change their destinies .are the strikes forever ?Capital N0 IS this first students protest in SA ?no Strikes or no Strikes Let people apply to schools of the choices after all some schools are not part of the strike. I did my MSC and PHD in SA, I live in SA, not one day before last year had schools been shut. Now 4 schools are shut. NWU, UP, UFS and a campus of KZN. The reality is education in SA is falling and I just hv to tell my pple if you see it as discouragement too bad. And changing from study permit to work permit is very very very hard now. So staying after your studies is also hard. So eish, I don't think killing or disturbing oneself to study in SA is worth it for now |

roblance: Boss seems na wetin dy flow be that o. A pal of mine got Invalid hotel as well. it is getting harder and harder to get into SA now just by using hotel booking, hence, it is better for anyone coming via hotel booking to get someone in SA to book and pay for the hotel, get you a receipt of payment plus if he uses a card (credit or debit) to pay the pos receipt too should be added. if the resident of SA that got you the hotel booking is scanning these receipts to you, then he/she should certify it from a police station before scanning. I do this a lot for relatives that visit. Also get an itinerary of what you intend to do in SA and attach it. buy tickets of tour buses or tour guides attach them to your application. if really you any one is coming as a tourist they want to see all these. If you are just visiting, then get someone in SA with a legal immigration status to invite you |

zico70: I was given a paper to sign for undesirability and I was told I can make appeal to the nearest south africa embasy within 10 working days of receiving d paper. On my passport was stamped with 11 days and something like RCU 21(3) (A) Ordinarily it is not advisable to overstay ones visa, but with that said, i think normally because you did not overstay up to 30days your undesirability should be lifted automatically after one year. check the letter they gave you |

muhaogunlo: If you fall sick, go to a government hospital, you will be treated free of charge since you are on a study permit. Even if you have surgeries done, it's still free of charge in government hospital. Cheers! Am not sure you have been to govt hospital in SA, they are frustrating maybe except the ones in Western Cape. |

Keneking: That is 6months Jan to june is 6 months, feb to july is 6months so feb to aug can't be six months. That said, all u do is to get a letter from ur school that they are aware you are resuming late. No one will stop u |
Travel › Re: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by staggerlee: 9:14pm On Feb 13, 2016 |
Keneking: By convention, you need to notify institution and in turn Home Affairs. You must register within the first six months at least. I suggest you register within the stipulated period otherwise your visa could be revoked.
Insurance does not matter so much, as you can always renew same with quarterly, Bi annual or annual plan and the cost isn't much.
All the best Have seen people get study visa in feb and come in august |

samuelUMOH: The following steps are vital to retain Your admission . 1.complete d acceptance form and return to postgraduate officer . 2 State reasons why want to defer and when you want to resume 3.Inform medical aid so that they adjust your payment . Above all as research student you don't need to reside in Sa to complete your studies since there is no lecture only coursework students take lectures and write exams .Take a week off come in ,register and see your supervisor and go back . You can only adjust your medical aid if you were refused a visa, otherwise nothing you can do on ur medical aid. You can come to SA anytime as long as your visa is valid |

seiraries: Hello house,
Please, I'm making this enquiry on behalf of an elderly relative who has a multiple entry (visit) visa into SA. The event she's going for is for a week but she plans to stay back for an additional week to buy stuff before returning. My question is if she books a return ticket covering 2 weeks instead of one, will this be an issue with immigration?
Cc @collinsfbi, keneking, Ogathetop2, staggerlee
Btw, Ogathetop2 thanks for your post. It really helped when I processed her application. Yes she can buy return ticket which last 2 weeks, as long as her visa is still valid within that period |

muhaogunlo: It's better you book way before your travel date bro, it's cheaper, but you can book that day too but it's going to be freaking expensive and you may only get business class. And try to print your boarding pass before going to the airport, it saves you some stress. Its usually open for printing 24hrs before the boarding time. Cheers. If it is not a peak period you can get cheap tickets on day of travel, no wahala, no stress urself, tickets are no big deal to get |

Dont kill yourself because you want to come to SA, Dont fly from Lagos to Abuja just because you want to submit a visa application. SA isnt a bed of roses. what we saw 4 to 5 years ago that made us stick to SA is not what we are seeing now |

TokyoBulls: 1. I just returned from RSA on 3rd February and I could not use my GTBank Naira Mastercard to make cash withdrawals and when I called the bank, they said all ATM cash transactions are blocked within Africa for all GTBank cards. However, I was able to use it across POS for payments.
2. Remember that you lose some money to BDC every time to make currency conversion. I always prefer a maximum of one currency conversion. The BDC on your extreme right at MMIA changes Naira to Rands (1 Rand = N20 last time I checked).
3. You are allowed up to $5,000 or equivalent as BTA or $4,000 or equivalent as PTA. R 50,000 is the limit for SA. I know for sure you can withdraw with Ecobank cards and Access bank |

mmo1: Good morning house, please I need your professional contribution on my family tourist visa to South Africa. I would like to visit South Africa for 5 days with my family (my wife and 3 years old son) to celebrate my Birthday in April. 1 How would I package the 3 applications (my wife, my son and myself) will I package it individually, group or family package? 2 My wife is a student and gospel musician what are the documents she will submit at vfs? 3 I will be the sponsor of the whole trip but can my wife also include her own bank statement in the documents to be submitted at the vfs she has a closing balance of about N600,000 Thank you. Bros it is 3 applications, plus 3 application fees but since you are sponsoring the trip make copies of ur bank statements and attach it to ur wife's and child's application and also write a letter indicating u will be responsible for the trip. At vfs insist all applications should be in the same bag. Your wife can add her statements no biggie. Every other document will be 3, each per applicant |
